    That is so nice. I have seen a couple in the wild in upstate NY on the ground close up. But I never thought of petting them. So very cool to meet one up close And personal like this.

    When I was younger, I would save porcupine roadkill so an Onondaga I knew could use the quills for jewelry and mocassin and decoration. Using up the deceased creature instead of alternatives.

    They just don't look like the type of animal to have a tree as it's preferred space. Maybe change the minds of people who think their vermin, get them to know more and love and protect them. Love me some Teddy !

    I think Teddy has natural charm, and is aware of the shared affection from his carer and the other ladies. In fact, l think Teddy is a communicator, as his noises and moans contain a linguistic pattern! You are utterly cute and full of feeling Teddy! You charmer you..!

      Teddyis so adorable. I love all animals, but Teddy is so special. I want a baby porcupine. Can't believe how cute she is and she does talk, it is very easy to understand what she is saying. Teddy
      seems to really understand what her owner is saying, kind of a dog. Different is Teddy is an amazing animal because she speaks her wants ause she talks back and and definitely understand of a y0loving Teddy is just the

    I had loved to see a Teddy-Kemo-Crossover! But both of them, the prehensile tailed Kemo from Jessi, Animal Wonders Montana and also Teddy, the nothern cousin are aged now. But I guess, they still make their funny sounds as they still are veggie and fruit lovers.

    So it's only his tail thats prickly? Or is it all of his hair? They really are a magnificent animal and i believe we need these in our enviornment. Animals can love and be loved. I have a parrot cockatoo and she is a sweetheart and she acts like a young teenager. Animals need us and we need them. Absolutely beautiful animal!

    sure has highly evolved defenses for an animal which "spends its entire life up in trees" ... and by highly evolved defenses, i mean literally the best of any mamal. strange how that works really... anyway that creature is adorable. its a shame they went extinct here in our local mountains in southern CA

    Why is he two front teeth that color?

    • @TheEquineJournalist
      @TheEquineJournalist 7 років тому +10

      "Why are his teeth red? Wood-chewing rodents have a hard outer tooth enamel that is rich in red-colored iron. The inner tooth layer is soft and pithy. Nature designed this multi-layered tooth to be self-sharpening. As the porcupine chews on wood, the soft under layer wears away, leaving a razor-sharp and iron-strong beveled edge."

      did you know that the porcupine is the only animal in north america,in a survival situation with nothing to eat that you can eat the meat raw !? and is fairly easy to hunt and kill without weapons a stick will do the trick for a weapon and they dont run very fast! of course teddy bear would probably get a pass,but then again! if i was starving...RUN TEDDY RUN....
