Hi Caroline and Shawn, that picker upper tool is the most useful thing to have. I use it for taking clothes out of the front load washing machine and the dryer. I also tend to knock over my prescription bottles off my nightstand and they roll under the bed and it's very useful there too. Pretty much everything is made of polyester these days!!! Yes isn't that what we wore in the 60s and 70s lol. I'm older than you are so you may not have been around in the 60s. Cute pjs all the same. I did manage to find 100% cotton sleep pants at Wal-Mart. The red colander is cute. Life can sure throw you curveballs that's for sure. You two are very blessed to be so in love and there for each other. I worry everyday about something happening to my husband or to myself. Prayers for you both.
I had a picker tool years ago, have no idea what I did with it, but happy to have another one they are great for just about anything you need to reach for. Great haul Caroline! Life does throw us some curve balls sometimes. My husband and I planned a well needed holiday after he was diagnosed with prostate cancer (he is cancer free right now) and then knee surgery. Then I found out through a regular mammogram that I had breast cancer. Like you say we have each other and we will get past this hurdle too and go on that trip 💕😄. Good luck Shawn with your next surgery.

Yes, life does send us curve balls and it is not easy. I so hope you eventually find your own wee home where you and Shawn can finally settle and the dogs have an outdoor space. We are thinking of selling our home of over 50 years and down sizing because my hubbie has lost one kidney due to cancer and has now been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. We have recently moved to an apartment and are loving it!!! The building we moved to is mostly seniors and they put on fun things to do (BBQ, Bingo, card games). The building has a common room with a pool table and there is a room with a small gym. It is very quiet. Everyone we have met has been lovely. It is so nice to just take our small bag of garbage to the garbage shute instead of having to haul big heavy bags to the curb. No worries of dealing with any kind of yard maintenance. I hope you can find something that suits your needs. I agree it is an adjustment going from a house, but it definitely has its perks.

My sister had stuff in a storage unit - it ended up costing her more than what was in it was worth - have you considered with all the driving to go get things that it might be a waste of money -
