next() is actually very useful if you want to make your own iterator functions. It’s the only way to iterate through a dictionary without pairs or ipairs.

On the debug traceback example the traceback comes from the point that you called the function on, not the point where the error occured.
Pcall already provides you with the error line.
xpcall is better to be honest.

It's the default font, Fira mono. If you want to change the font go to Studio settings > Script editor.
I believe assert() also throws an error if the value is nil
Yes, because a nil value is basically 0, and 0 is false
@@iamswan2107 nil and false aren't necessarily the same thing because nil can represent an instance that doesn't exist or just the default return of any function which couldnt find what it was looking for
For example, FindFirstChild() returns nil if it cant find the child with the name you pass to it, which is different than false
@@CarlosGarcia-jw2xd I was putting it simply, if you wanna go in detail, nil is a null pointer, an empty memory area, a void. False is a boolean, which is basically an integer , either 0 or 1. In lua, a null pointer is interpreted as a 0, which means, nil is the same as false for the machine
Only difference is that nil is a pointer, while false is just an int

still these functions/libraries are very niche and probably aren't used in 99% of roblox games
