  • Israel video tour with David Hyman, professional tour guide. Hebron is considered one of Israel's four Holy cities, together with Jerusalem, Tiberias, and Tsfat. Abraham and Sarah settle here and this is where he welcomes the three angels who announce the birth of his son Yitzhak. When his wife Sarah passes away, he is required to purchase a burial cave for her and pays 400 silver Shekels to Ephron The Hittite for the field of Machpela and the cave within it. The cave became the family burial estate and eventually is the final resting place of six out of the seven Patriarchs and Matriarchs. The only family member not buried here is Rachel, who died giving birth to Benjamin just outside Bethlehem, and therefore is buried on her own, in Kever Rachel ( Rachel's Tomb)
Visiting Hebron is possible but challenging, If you make it here, you are rewarded with a tour of one of the world's most holy sites, as Abraham is considered the "Father of all nations". The ancient cave was covered in the First Century by a monumental structure built by King Herod and soaring 30 meters high. The walls of the building are identical to the Western Wall in Jerusalem, using monolithic building blocks and Herod's signature frame technique.
Within the building are two separate houses of worship, each with its own entrance and rules. The south entrance leads into the Synagogue side, where the tombs of Abraham, Sarah, Jacob, and Leah are located. The Eastern entrance leads to the Mosque side, where Isaak and Rebeca's tombs are located. There are strict regulations enforced by Israeli police due to extremely tragic events that have happened on both sides in the past 30 years.

This is SO definitely on my "bucket" list, must visit places. Especially now, as you may actually tour beyond the "seventh step." I could feel the spiritual significance of the place from 5000 km away, through the screen. I'm sure you did as well, during your visit, but on a much greater scale. Well done, thank you for your work! Liked and subscribed.

That is exactly the tragedy of Hebron. Since the Hebron agreement from 1997, the city is divided between Palestinian sections and areas under the Israeli control. This effects every single aspect of life in this torn city.

Are most people aware that Adam and Eve are also buried in the Cave of the Field of Michepelah where they will all be resurrected at the Parousia? Berakhot Shalom Shalom

Hi DJ PRO. Thanks for watching and for your extremely chalanging question. I tried to look it up and could not find an agreed answer of the final resting place of Esau son of Isaac. It seems that he was murdered by a member of Jacob's family, and perhaps his head is buried in the same cave of the patriarchs in Hebron. I haven't seen a marker during my visits, but I will ask and look for it during my next visit.
