On the matter of the camo, the Empire heavily used the "Tarkin Doctrine" while fighting the rebels. The Tarkin Doctrine emphasized psychological warfare, which is why they don't use camouflage and their vehicles aren't all that practical. They want to spread fear and panic in their enemies by making their forces as intimidating as possible. Their vehicles are tall and legged to make them more imposing, and their soldiers are equipped in identical white armor to both obscure their humanity and ensure that the enemy is well aware of just how badly they're out numbered. This wasn't a strategy meant to fight an even comparable force, it was designed to break rebellions and intimidate would-be agitators into keeping their heads down. Those who cannot be lulled into complacency must be suppressed through fear and terror.

    • @matthiuskoenig3378
      @matthiuskoenig3378 2 роки тому +13

Actually it doesn't explain why the empire uses big ships. The large ships are infact perfectly practical for destroying enemy capital/big ships. And the empire (as stated in episode 4 dialogue) think small ships are obsolete, which is a tacitcal thinking the rebels try to exploit and it gets them a pyrrhic victory. But the rebels clearly agree with the big ships are needed as they build their own by episode 6.
and then everything not made by lucas forgets this and makes bombers and fighters op. Even in episode 6 it's the rebel big ships that defeat the super star destroyers by taking down its shields not bombers. Fighters/bombers only work against the death stars with pyrrhic loses and even then deathstar 2 needed its shields taken down by infantry first. Bombers in the OT were useless.

Storm Troopers aren't clones, the only cannon clone troopers still in the Empire by the time of the Battle of Hoth are the 501st Vader's Fist, everyone else is volunteers. Than we got the Imperial Army which we see in Solo, who are basically the standard grunts. Storm Troopers are basically the elite crop reaped from them. The only other clones that were still in service from the Clone Wars were either being out serviced or put into the Dark Trooper experiments.
This isn't important or adds anything to the conversation, just star wars lore, since I'm tired of people saying Storm Troopers are clones. They're not, they're people. They have families, parents, homes, beliefs, fears, emotions, children. Sure their faceless and have no identity, but if you look at a line up of today's soldiers, soldiers from any nation you really don't see anything special or different about them, they're all the same in the structure they serve under.

However the modularity of said equipment is basically next to nothing, unlike Clone Wars equipment which was capable of quite a bit of modification allowing weapons to serve multiple roles rather than just one. The Vietcong adequately demonstrated that primitive technologies were effective against modern military forces trying to engage in infantry battles, and the Empire was not prepared for the Ewoks beyond building a bunker.
My grandfather also told stories of how the US hired... I don't think he actually called them 'pygmies' but I'm drawing a blank as to what they were actually called, so I'll just use that term for now. Basically, his story was that the US encountered these tribals somewhere in the Pacific, who were short, but REALLY good at maneuvering, tracking, and hiding in jungle terrain. He said they were terrifyingly effective, so much so that the US actually hired them to help deal with the Japanese during WWII by paying them with foodstuffs like rice to go on manhunts and clear out bunker and tunnel complexes. He said they had a penchant for cutting off heads as proof of their kills to US soldiers, and they had a really nasty trick of using starved rats to flush out caves and stuff where the Japanese soldiers were hiding. By the time he arrived in the Pacific, it was Vietnam, but he heard the horror stories of what these 'pygmies' could do, and during his time the US was essentially hiring them to train soldiers in how to survive and remain hidden in jungle environments. He described them as natural boogeymen, able to vanish into the trees and bushes and appear without a sound, and how they would routinely mess with the soldiers they were training by walking away and then suddenly sneaking up on them and grabbing their shoulders, or stare directly at them and waving at them while they thought they were concealed. He also said that they had sharp noses, so one of the first things he was taught was how to hide his scent, and then he had to manage to last a whole night of hide and seek with them without getting caught more than twice. He said one of the worst experiences in his life was when he tried to hide in a tree and had to relieve himself after a few hours, only for one of them to suddenly appear below him and start singing in broken English 'Oh, GI peeing in the trees!' over and over again while he circled it before pointing him out and taking one of the tags they used to keep score.
It'd been like... 40 years or so since my grandfather had that experience, and I think I heard him tell the story like... 10 years ago myself, but it's kind of stuck with me.

Eragon, the protagonist, learns that he can use magic via the use of the language of magic (e.g. by saying the word "Break!" in that language), and his first attempts at using this magic are very simple and unrefined. E.g. "Break!" to break an enemy's shin bone, which costs the equivalent magical energy to severing the bone with force. However, as he learns more and more refinement of his skills and is taught by the Elves, he learns the so-called "Twelve Words of Death" which are words like "Sever" and "Cut", which he can employ with precision to sever nerves, arteries, etc. all without expending more energy than lifting a pen. There are multiple things wrong with "just using the Force to instakill everything".
First, the Empire only has 2 proper Force users in canon - Vader and Palpatine (and they are sith, not jedi). Vader is only deployed when it hits the fan and Palpatine is the emperor, he wouldn't risk it. Second, usage of Force requires serious mental and physical strain on the body of the user, which is why Vader limits himself to simply choking one (multiple in-game) people at once. Targeting a vital organ with the Force requires intensive training, immense focus and endurance to do it multiple times. It would work, but even a beast like Palpatine wouldn't be able to do that all the time, and considering rebels come in huge numbers that would be ineffective. Lastly, back in the Republic Era, jedi were a thing, but their stagnant code of conduct didn't allow them to practice offensive uses of the Force because they're "peacekeepers, not soldiers" and doing so would lead to Dark Side, aka they had a Geneva Convention of their own

The ewoks are playable both in the special "survival/infection" mode and the normal game (when in the relevant time era) and honestly, they are the best to play. They have their spear melee which does a surprising amount of damage, and their bow kind of has two firing modes. A relatively weak 'quickfire' which has some lockon, and a fully charged shot, and there is no better feeling than putting an arrow through a Stormtrooper's helmet across the way.

No the didn't. The zulus raided a British camp while the actual British army was out looking for the zulus, and then almost lost to the relatively small number of men left as camp guards, loosing dozens of times the number of men the British did and even then only wining because the British were overconfident and deployed too far from their ammunition, so the men ran dry of ammunition and were overwhelmed by sheer numbers. And that was 1 single engagment. The same day the zulus were mascured by an even more heavily outnumbered British force at rorkes drift. And the following weeks had the zulus get their ass kicked over and over untill the British burnt down the Zulu capital and the Zulu king surrendered.

And I'm talking bottom of the barrell entry jobs with a meagre salary even if paid in full (just enough to live by). So I just tried to contact the government to see if they could supply me with some help with this (we got socialized healthcare and programs to help reintegrate people into the workforce) and they literally told me that the issue is that I didn't work that decade and now I'm radioactive to all companies so get bent (with more polite words).

About that punching a armored robot point you mentioned in the Star Wars the clone wars series a clone ran up to that same droid and broke his hand hitting it

Stormtroopers are human conscripts, not clones. First SW movie didn't have the budget later movies would have, so using WW2 prop weapons as blasters was a way to save money.

It's worse then just copying the OT. Kylo is like the only good thing about those movies

It is not about the invitation anymore. It is about being an "expert in the field" and explain to old politicians how your changes to the industry helps them maintain power.

When it comes to adding to a reaction you’re honestly the best at it because some videos (like this one) you add 30 minutes of content to the added video

50:43 the canonical reason he has the two vents is because his Krystal and power source are unstable so he has to ent the energy to keep it from exploding basically

So if my memory is correct, in the Clone Wars the Separatist army was the Trade Federation, The Sith, and allied generals. The Trade Federation owned the Battle Droids and paid for them and the other droid units. So the droids were mostly under the command of a humanoid commander, or a Tactical Droid who was given orders from a Sith.

50:50 I doubt you'll see this but the reason he has little lightsaber things is that his kyber crystal is cracked, and those help his very unstable lightsaber from getting destroyed or really messed up

"The original trilogy's plot, wholesale, and reskinned it"
No, that was just TFA, which was already pretty dumb.
TLJ and TRoS are abominations. Like it's almost impressive that they are both almost equally terrible.
Somehow the last hour or so of Rogue One was cool, though.

I didn't mind TFA being a wholesale ripoff, considering that was the intention. It was just a stepping off point to soft reboot the franchise with new blood, I got that. What it paved the way for though, as you said, truly unforgiveable.

i remember going to see the first of the new trilogy in theaters, i hadn't seen the original trilogy in maybe 10 years but watching the new one and just sitting there going "why does this seem so damn familiar" it wasn't until maybe a quarterish of the way in when it hit me "wait this is just the plot from the first star wars movies" and after that i could just start counting the story beats. It always seems so sad to me the star wars universe is literally an entire galaxy, so why does it always have to be the fate of the universe at stake why cant we just go over there and see what happening there.

To be honest, I've been watching our favourite MMA coffee addict because of the staff he adds. I have watched all the videos before he did react to those, but I just adore his opinions and reactions from the point of the person who's new to the thing. Remaining me of the time I was a newbie myself and was learning about all this stuff.

A different way to look at competency and loyalty in authoritarian structures is that the biggest threats are from the inside so loyalty reduces the threat and incompetence can be assisted.
