Driving On WA SR-224 East/West In 1983 (Benton City, Richland)

Back in 1983, The Washington State Department of Transportation drove East/West on SR-224 and recorded video to document the highway. This was part of a project that photographed/videotaped the states highways every couple of years. This video now resides at The Washington State Archives who were kind enough to share it.

It’s so wild to see US-12 instead of I-82 or in one video I saw SR14 through the Tri-Cities instead of 82/395 from the early 80s. I wanna see a video of Yakima, where I was born (1982) and raised, from that era if there are any old videos out there somewhere.

Yep, I remember it well. Lived in Richland, but took that route many times to visit some friends in Benton City, as well as grandma, that lived in Kiona.
