Such a good song. It really expresses all the right emotions when falling in love and the extreme vulnerability that love evokes. A very bleeding heart kind of song. You nailed it, Tom! :D
I've always thought he's actually talking about Mother Earth. He uses "She" in a lot of songs just to depict the feminine form - talking about cocreating our visions here, while we reside on her land.

This is not just a simple song. These lyrics truely mean something to me. Im autistic and quite a spiritual person so we tend to see the world a bit differently, its like an extremely difficult yet extremely beautifull place so just imagine what tge below lyrics are like to some one like me

I saw AVA in Downtown LA right before the pandemic. Best money spent ever.
This album as a WHOLE is so underrated it's unreal. In my opinion this is some of Toms best song writing he has ever done. I get AVA isn't for everyone, but I always tell people to give this album a chance and usually they come out surprised and liking it.

The first time I heard this song, I wasn't paying full attention but that lyric jumped out at me. I immediately thought that that is how it should be. The right person will want to know what goes on inside your head that nobody else gets to see and most people never take the time to go deeper and really learn about you. So many people see a small sliver of your life and actions and like to think that they have you 'all figured out' or that they "know your type". The surface stuff that you see can be meaningless and can hide the real you. Someone of substance and real understanding will want to see what is going on 'behind the curtain." I often wonder if I am a little autistic. Cheers

The first time I heard this song, I was casually listening and that line plus the next one "Show me the world that you see yourself" that hit me so hard. It made me think about how I would love to have a girl look beyond what she sees on the outside and really be curious about what is going on in my mind - what makes me tick. That would be someone incredibly special.
Stunning song - the intro gets me every time. Listening to Young London (the track before this on the album) and fading into this is pure genius.
