It's nice to see a fellow Skarner in the LCS, but I'm going to critique Ambition's playstyle. Don't max Q first, max E. It gives you better peel, better engage, better clear speeds. Q only gives you %AD/AP hybrid damage, which you don't have stats to boost in the early game anyway. Max E first. I'm glad to see that he bought Chilling Smite instead of the ever LCS popular Tracker's Knife. Obviously it helps him gank, but it also makes an ult engage even more threatening in the lategame. 16:08 I'm so happy! Ambition smited Gromp so that he could lead it in such a way that it stands around 75-50 units inside its leash range. That way he can attack it from the shrine and improve clear time. Even in challenger, I've never seen another Skarner besides me do that. 16:25 Here's a tech error. You always want to E your target then automation cancel it into Impale. After they come out of the suppression, you can auto them for a stun. Doing this reduces the cooldown of Fracture by a total of 1.75 (Impale passive CDR) + 2 (actual Impale duration + 1 (Fracture on-hit passive CDR) = 4.75 seconds. If you're maxing E first as you should, then you can E again for 3.75 seconds of hard CC. They might have been able to get the Jhin if Ambition had comboed correctly (probably not the dragon though). 19:39 just to talk about ability maxing again: Skarner maxes E first, yes, I've already said that. However, it is best to put TWO additional points in W before maxing Q second. Ambition's choice of abilities here is indicative patch 4.20 Skarner, where he got buffs from Q. The problem with maxing those abilities on the new Skarner is that it leaves him prone to being easily kited as we saw at 16:25 and without peel as we see thoughout this entire match. Maxing E first reduces its cooldown, increases the slow, and increases the damage (for clear speeds). Maxing Q doesn't even mean that you will be proccing Sheen more often, since the base cooldown of Q already procs it on cooldown. 29:15 This is INCREDIBLY minor, but optimally it would be good to run in circles while Ambition takes his shrine here.
