I always thought the implication was that she was brought up to fight because those in power above her decided she was meant to be a warrior. It wasn’t her choice. In those days, it was expected that the men would have to die in battle. I think he was saying “you’re a woman, why are you expected to be a warrior?”

Sometimes in life, decisions means following orders and keeping your job. Or disobey and lose your job. Simple as that. You can see deep down even Rikimaru was sad at the fact that he had to kill her. She was beautiful and could've found a handsome boyfriend and lived a happy normal life.
When I first played this game I was blown away by the magnificent yet simple grapics.

For fun I would stock grenades and then run around and get everyone in the level chasing me and then lead them to the bridge and kaboom.
