oh I needed this video. Spin moves to me r ALWAYS mystifying!!! Even after your incredibly helpful video I really don't get them. My eyes don't get them. I scratch my head.

i think the problem with spin moves on the ultimate field as contrast to basketball/football is that you really need to close the gap between you and the defender before it is effective.. otherwise if the gap is too big the defender is just standing there watching you spin.. think like low post spin move from olaijuwan.. basically when your back is to the basket with your defender on you, you spin that seals away the defender.. similar with a runningback or a widereciever.. you need very small gap to seal the defender.. this is a problem in ultimate that is similar to soccer.. spin moves aren't really as useful..

Stubbs doesn't do a spin move tho... He doesn't do a 360. It's just a 180 where he turns away...
Edit: Same with Kocher now that I look again. The only one that's actually a spin move is the 2nd. And that's the worst option - he barely gets the disc...

Agreed. I remain unconvinced by the once actual spin move. The most important part of a cut is the cutter and handler connection. The cutter looks away for so long. Maybe it works once by confusing the defense.
