See and hear one of the original Case IH Quadtrac tractors working in the field with a 42.5 ft Krause 4635 field cultivator. The 400 hp Case IH Steiger 9380 Quadtrac was produced from 1998-2000.
You know you have a tractor addiction when you drove tractor all day yesterday, then wake up and watch big tractor power with breakfast, before you head out to drive tractor again.
Thanks for feeding the addiction.
Thank you for watching.
Lol same
Love the gen 1 quadtracs. The farmer that used to rent our farm had a 9370 quadtrac with a three point hitch. He pulled a 46 foot Krause disk with it. It would pull it down to the axle and never slow down. They also used it to pull a 12 row ripper bedder/bed conditioner with a dry fertilizer or anhydrous injector pulling two tanks of it at a time. They were beasts.
Sounds like an impressive operation. The farm with this Quadtrac has a New Holland Versatile on triple tires that pulls a 45ft disk. I hope to film that this fall.
@@bigtractorpower what model is the blue versatile?
Holy light bars when that guys gotta see he’s not messing around haha
Playin Farmer was thinking the same thing
It would not be hard to film at night that is for sure.
I wish our John deere 8760 had lights like that it would make field work a lot easier
Still a awesome piece of machinery, we still use it to cultivate, it still keeps up with all the newer ones. That buddy seat in it must of been hard to sit on😂😂 it’s more of a arm rest, yet none the less a Great tractor to have around🤠
Not too much of a buddy seat. That was a handy addition to modern tractors.
wow!👍👍👍
Very Cool! We don’t have the 4-track version but we have a 9380 and it is a fun tractor to run !
Very cool. I hope to find more 9300s to film.
@@bigtractorpower question, did they ever had 9390 quadtracs, i cannot find them anywhere
Here in michigan we have a 9380 quad track . It's pulls our corn planter a 1770 nt. It looks funny but that planter pulls best behind that case. It runs a chisel plow and disk and grain cart. I'm a loyal johndeere owner but case has the 4 track market owned by a long shot. Those quads have the most traction flotation and smoothest ride. We can run our 1000 bushel Brent grain cart loaded at 15 to 20 mph across the field with comfort .Nice video stay safe and farm on my friend !
What brand of chisel, how many shanks and how deep?
@@nellsonstout7001 sunflower 11 shanks between 8 and 10 inches deep.
Another great Steiger😀
The Quadtrac is certainly a big part of Steiger history.
Great vid👍another great CASEIH tractor and weighing at 43000lbs that’s light compare others track machines. I wonder if he modified track under carriage with clear bowls for better maintenance. Looks be so hard spots in field when pullling tillage implement. It so rare to find a clean example of quadtrac of this age.👍
How long do the tracks last on these machines and how do they compare in cost to tires when changing them? Every Nebraska test that I have seen has illustrated that the tired tractors are capable of putting more power to the ground so I wanted to know how costs stack up next to a tired machine. Just curious to know if there is any other advantage to tracks other than less compaction?
Parent of Twins Each track is about 1,200 to 3,000 dollars. Runs the price up to. A John Deere 9r runs about 450,000 whereas a 9rx runs 680,800.
Parent of Twins To answer how long the tracks last depends. They could last ten years if you don't run them on the highway. There are stories of tracked equipment pulling scraper pans and that pan would pull a track right in to. John Deere 9rx scraper specials have fatter tracks just for scraper pans.
They will pull anything but punches... All power to the ground
Interesting to see how these things have evolved.First saw one at 1997 Empire Farm Days
Very cool. 1996-1997 was the roll out time for the Quadtrac. I attended the 1996 Empire Farm Days. It would have been neat to see a new Quadtrac in 1997.
I remember seeing first quadtracs on U.S.Farm Report in August 1996 when they did a story on the CaseIH equipment introduction in Colorado.I too was at the 1996 EFD & remember is raining over 2 inches after 10 am on the final day.
My Dad has one but he uses it to plant. 24 row 1250 case ih planter. Very productive
That is a neat planting set up.
If he’s still using it, I’d love to see it on video
Hopefully I have this story straight...my nephews and their dad had one of these on a tile plow. Worked great until CIH came out with an update to the computer to turn the horsepower down in the lower gears because 400 HP and the improvement of traction from the tracks was tearing the drivetrain apart in those lower gears. It ruined the low speed performance on the tile plow however. They wished they never let CIH update it.
Love old equipment. Brings back nostalgia when I drove farmalls.
It’s always fun to find the classics.
I grew up drivng a Farmall H and a John Deere B. Loved them both!
Nice, thanks for the cab view. I have never been in one before.
Certainly. I always hope people like seeing what the drivers seat looks like.
Needs more turbo whistle. I have a fever and the prescription is more turbo whistle.
JCLawn51 hahaha still one of the best SNL skits ever !!
i miss these old quadtracs i grew up seeing these in the fields
Still doing a fine job and looks great after many years down on the farm. Love that Red Power !
It is a beast of a tractor.
Best looking tractor ever made
It is a cool tractor with the black hood.
May I ask what equipment you use for taking these videos in the field? Couldn't find info on your channel
I use a Cannon Vixa camera.
Thank you!
Muito legal
Compare it to the 715
What does one individual track cost anyone know? And how many hours can you get out of a whole set of tracks? I know there's a lot of variables but on average I mean.
Nice video. I think you just created a new video genre. You need to put together a medley of spin outs!
It seems very loud and noisy in the cab compared to Deeres cab of comparable size.
4 gauge this tractor was made almost 20 years ago...
Andrew Bunkers I know,I.H.was dead back in 1982.The cabs in the Deeres are alot quieter even back in the late 70's then this Agco built in the late 90's.
Yeah it’s pretty loud, but I love the sound of the Cummins l👌
Central Iowa Farmer Fiat bought Case in 1999,its no longer owned by Tennco.Case bought up Steiger and New Holland before that.
4 gauge What the hell are you talking about?
bonjour. merci ; d' avoir aimez mes commentaires, je me lasse pas de regarder big tractor _ power. a plus tard.
Thanks for the video have a great day.
Thank you for watching.
hi
Great video as always
Thank you for watching.
Need to get some of your videos edited into a 30 minute block and submit to RFDTV. I’m almost betting they’d give you a slip.
Thank you for the compliment.
Very nice tractor!!
It is a Classic.
BTP!!! Hi from Indiana and as always the best channel on UA-cam and unmatched in editing. I’ve learned so much over the years.
Thank you. I am glad you enjoy watching BTP. Many more videos on the way.
My family farm has the same tractor
Very cool.
@3:41 my favorite part every time.
The turn around?
@@bigtractorpower just after, when the implement gets lowered in and they spool up and work.
Thank you BTP.
Your welcome.
Rare quadrac...beatiful
I would like a video on working a field that has many rocks to dispose of and prepareing that field for culture. I wouldn't know what to search for in your massive collection of vieos. Any help is welcome, TYFS
I have not been in any super rocky fields. I do have some rock picker footage. I will include it some time soon.
TY so much for coming back. I'll stay tuned ;-)
Great video!
Glad you liked it.
Very cool. I ain't see an old 9000 series Quadtrac around here in years. Most that run them have new or late model ones anymore. Some of the smaller guys are picking up the wheeled machines though in recent years as they have updated equipment.
The first generation Quadtrac does seem to be harder to find these days. In my opinion so hard in my area that I was one mile away from filming a 2018 JD 9520RX narrow track and 36 row DB90 planter when I passed this 9380 on the road. I did a quick turn around and ended up following this 9380 25 miles on winding roads to get lots of good footage of this classic for this video and other future BTP videos.
bigtractorpower awesome. Thanks for tracking it down.
I love this tractor
wow @1:10 spinning all four of those tracks!!
It was a low spot in the field. Extra muddy.
cool tractor
That looks too wet to be in the field.
They were using the Quad to get the field aired out.
What’s the gpm of these I can’t find a solid answer
GPM? Not sure of the term ?
@@bigtractorpower gallons per minute (hydraulic flow)
Does anyone know why case in went with the black hole on certain models
The Quadtrac 9370 and 9380 had a black hood. The wheel row crop 9330 and 9350 had black hoods to indicate they were special steer models.
bigtractorpower the row crop models had the old case crab steer setup?
No they had a steerable front axle and articulated in the back. There were crab steer Steigers. The Steiger 9240 replaced the 4694 and the 9260 replaced the 4894.
bigtractorpower thanks for the info, you know your tractors
Thanks a awesome tractor for sure and covering a large amount of ground thanks for your video.
This tractor was a good classic find. Thank you for watching.
Agco is gittin'down,oh yeah!!.
