Cant wait to revisit Wyreside! cracking tips there!
Thank you!
Fantastic something different from how i fish in winter so it's opened my eyes in a different direction thank you
No problem at all. Glad you enjoyed it!
Single boosted hookbait in winter is all that's needed and put it as close to the fish as possible .... then pray 👌
Some of the most comprehensive explanations on winter approach. Congrats, mate! Thanks for sharing your hard acquired experience through the years. Sharing is caring! Much appreciated 👏 👏 👏
Thank you very much. We're glad you found it useful!
My God, I came on here for some carp tips and thought I'd seen a ghost?! If this man doesn't look like my long time dubliners favorite Luke Kelly, then I must be imagining things?! Subbed just for that 😲
A lot of great tips to think about here....most relevant to my style of fishing are 1/ activating the pellets with some boiling water and 2/ coating the outside of a solid bag with liquid and a dusting of crumb. Thank you for the ideas...you've got my mind working overtime now!!
Welcome! Really glad you found this useful
So much info here , the only thing I don’t like is that I will have to spend a tiny fortune to get all the stuff I need to get the winter sorted. Great video well done ❤
Thank you, glad that you've found the video useful. Perhaps just take a couple of the tips into your fishing and this should cut down costs for you. Have a great 2024 x
Great video, nice to see someone explaining what they are doing and why. All the best for 2024. 👍
Thank you Tom. Glad you enjoyed it. Have a great 2024!
It’s all about getting attraction in and around the baited area I do this all through the year,I’m a big believer of doing stuff differently to everyone else and always coat the bag and/or fill bag with oil before casting out.
"I’m a big believer of doing stuff differently to everyone else filling the bag with oil" ? every body fills the bags with oil lmao
@@WeihrauchShooter not everyone does and also the outside of a pva bag as well maybe even till it in powder all about getting attraction in the water columns,I’ve not seen many people use oils in bags in winter never mind any time of year
Why follow what others do
i expect you don't see people putting oil in there bags because you are sat in your own bivvy not in everyones swim watching what they are doing all day ffs lol
Great video can you show how you make your PVA bag rigs up thanks
Big fan of DNA bait but also a good fishmeal bait can be used in the depths of winter it won’t harm fish, maybe years ago yes but bait is a lot better quality wise nowadays.
Good point mate, depends a lot on the local sindicate strategy and what it's fed to the fish they populate with. For example in Romania most locations populate with multiple smaller batches (6-7) throughout the year. The fishmeal hatchery raised carp is weary, doesn't form banks and tactics are completely different than the UK. Krill/squid/crab is king with feeder like rigs 6mm-8mm wafters. And Fishmeal works year round.
Im a coarse fisherman and fish for tench from spring onwards, ive started soaking fake corn and caster in Betalin Almond for March time.
Ive a game changer of a tip. Stay at home or do something else with your time ,winter is a fucking punisher if you don't know where they are !
Never a truer word said
Cracking video and insight into what you use. Look forward to trying a few of these out on the new year. 👍🏻
Thanks Tez
n1 callum lad good tips mate :-)
Glad you enjoyed :)
Great vid mate, do you use any of the bait guru halo? Any recommendations if you do cheers
Nice one for the video Callum 👍🏻
Welcome Stephen. Glad you enjoyed it
Keep them coming mate 👍🏻 great tips as always
My stupid self has never thought of dusting the outside of the bag before.
Whats people’s thought on areas to target in winter, lake average depth around 3m once past marginal shelf. Open water, middle of lake?
The Carp could be any where in the winter.
I have had more blanks that fish in the winter.
Never soak pellets. Put them in dry so the flavour leaks out where it needs to... On the lake bed ... Add dry 2/4mm to dry groundbaits in pva bag
Hi Steven, the reason why Callum is recommending to soak pellets in warm water at this time of year is to decrease the break down time in cold water so that they're working straight away. It's a common method in match angling known as 'scalded pellets'.
I use 10 & 8mm pellets that break down in cold water in 20 to 30 minutes.
Get some cold lake water in a bait tin and try it.
Size 4 hook 15 to 18 mm no issues they can't deal with it small baits and small hooks give more room for ejection
@LoneWolfLifeStyle72 never said it won't catch them I've had 30s on 12 hooks and also had the round Brown on an 8 I just prefer the 4
Get on the corn and hemp.
breeeeaaaaammmmm
Aah the old fishmeals don't work in the winter theory. Could you try telling the hundreds of winter carp I have caught on fishmeals that. You need a properly formulated fishmeal and use less of it. As for glugging baits up that has to be done because most baits today have little attraction hence bait companies forever bringing out new baits.
Caught many carp in winter on fishmeal boilies and pellets
Where are you located dude
Hi Anton, we are based in Lancaster
How much isit for 4 days and nights plz mate
We currently have an offer on for £30 for 48 hours. However, it is usually £30 for 24 hours :)@@antonlee4268
@@antonlee4268 We currently have an offer on for £30 for two nights. However, once this has ended it is £30 for 24 hours.
If fishing maggot hook baits , would you still add boilies in your spod mix? Cheers Tony Banks
Hi Tony, yes, but keep them small, eg 8-10mm boilies and boilie crumb
@@WyresideLakesFishery Brilliant, thanks. I’ve been baiting up ever every other day, maize, flaked maize, hemp, bug boilies and a few pellets. Putting 4 spots over two spots, does that sound ok? Club lake with plenty of high singles and a couple of doubles.
Hi Anthony, plenty of bait that for the winter. Best of luck!@@antonybanks9865
@@WyresideLakesFishery too much?
So all your advice is add goo to literally everything 😂🤦 you know theres more out there then korda goo ffs lol
