Yes I have heard about this mat…
The issue with good quality heavy duty mats is that they make commercial sense to buy if you are in a location where shipping costs are Zero or a fraction of the mat’s cost…for locations other than these, typically the shipping costs are either equal to or more than the cost of the mat 🥴 and doesn’t make sense to go for it (imo) I am based in once such location 🤷🏻‍♂️

Great video. Thanks for quick response. You mentioned that shoes are necessary for cushioning knees. Is it fine if I do it barefoot? Rope gets stuck on the heel portion of my shoes or keeps hitting them while I wear them.

I personally jump rope barefoot pretty regularly…in my view as along as the jumps are low, soft and relaxed it should be fine…if jumps are high and landings are aggressive we may face issues…
With regard to rope hitting your shoe heel…try playing with the jump rope length and hand / wrist position - you should be able to resolve this 👍

The purple mat you see in this video I bought from Amazon - I tried to search for it in my order history - couldn’t find it - no particular brand name - just that the thickness is 6 mm…
You can look for a yoga mat with anti skid grip - I saw a lot of options in Amazon - check it out
And as mentioned in the video - as long as the ropes are light - most of the mats woukd be ok

I weighed the mats on my home weighing scale…
The black crossrope mat weighs 2.3 kgs…the purple yoga mat - the weighing scale didn’t detect it at all…
While travelling I usually jump indoors in the hotel room or in the hotel gym…both surfaces don’t need a jump rope mat…if the surface is rough like concrete or road/tarmac - a yoga mat would do as it would grip the surface good and they are pretty portable or locally available also

I found yoga mat with PU and natural rubber which weighs around 3kg. I think it might be similar to the crossrope mat. Will buy and try it out.
