That is appalling guys, I am so sorry for you all. Enjoy the wee ones while you can. Love how your granddaughter keeps checking on you, she is awesome. Will be praying for a better result next time, that they a house they want.

      Thanks Pam😀.
Yeah, she kept shouting back about all the things I might fall over😀. In time I'm going to dig into the whole UK mortgage situation. We'll be fine, but don't think it's right that other people are affected. Onwards and upwards though😀.
      Cheers, all of us.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the banks again . These young family’s have it hard enough these days , I’m from your generation, early 60 s and whilst it wasn’t easy with high interest rates ,property was cheaper and everything else certainly was , my kids are remortgaging just now and its a nightmare , really hope they can get there home in Inverness, best wishes to you all

      Hi Neil, thanks🙂.
Yes, the whole mortgage thing just feels slightly crooked and Wild West now. I do suspect the rise of the “broker” is part of the problem. I believe it’s broken the link between lender and customer, which has allowed the lenders to forget that they have a duty to people. I suppose when you think about it when banks and building societies are removing branches everywhere, and people can’t personally go in and discuss a mortgage, that’s also going to dilute sense of duty to customer. Brokers are a win/win for the banks. They get to run leaner and abdicate responsibility.
      Something stinks anyway.
      Cheers, all of us.

Hi Brian i can feel your pain and i understand what you and your family are going through, we had the same thing 24 years ago, it is more than just the bank pulling the plug but also solicitors fees too. None of this was our fault but we still had to pay £1300 back then, i am sure as a family you will grow stronger and like you say deal with and start the process again. Wishing you and all of yours the best and hope you get back to normal asap take care

It must have felt worse years ago because these things didn't happen that often. It seems the process of buying a house has become a lot more precarious, and that can't be right. Anyway, it's all character building😉

Totally understand your upset. We have 3 grown up children with young families, just coping with utility bills, mortgages and childcare payments is bad enough. Wishing you all the best🤞🏼

      Hi Ruth😀.
Thanks for that. Yeah, we started working in the 70's with the mass strikes and became young adults through the early eighties with the mass unemployment and high inflation. It always feels to me that overall after that we went from some really bad years to some much better ones. I think now they are having to go from the good to the bad and that must be harder I think.
      Cheers, all of us.

We feel for your children and grandchildren, the banking system only benefits one side and it’s not the customers, but it’s great they’ve got steady sound guys like you to help out. Fingers crossed it all works out. 🤞🏻

Thanks for the kind words Ian😀.
Now we really feel for the people who are maybe in a worse situation.
I'm thinking of ways to get the whole issue highlighted more. Small voices though.
      Cheers, all of us.

      Hi Graham😀.
I'm going to dig into the whole UK mortgage mess shortly. When we were young and buying a house the lenders were falling over themselves to lock you into a fixed rate 25 year deal. Of course interest rates were extremely high then. Watch them being back fixed rate 25 year deals when they think interest rates have peaked! And leave young families paying 10% interest for most of their lives even when rates fall back.
      Cheers, all of us

I recently sold a house in Inverness ( not to your daughter) and the same thing happened to the young couple. It really is disgraceful how the banks / lenders can get away with it. As for the £100 compensation ......!!!!!!!!

      Its bad stuff all round😏.
I didn't realise how bad it was until I started digging into it I think the lenders have been demanding big deposits simply because they don't want to lend money at 2%. When we bought my first house in the mid eighties (when interest rates were sky high and so lenders were throwing money at you) my deposit was £99. A token really.

The people need to get together and fight the banks, come up with a pool of money to pay on mortgages suddenly pulled in, etc.

      Hi Alex, thanks🙂.
I think it might be the next big scandal. For example the mortgage brokers websites often suggest that you should use a broker because the lenders may give the broker a deal that may not be available to you directly. Is that even true? And if it is true why are the lenders not offering the same deal you directly rather than forcing you to go through someone who will make money off you? A lot of these brokers used to work for the same lenders they are now dealing with.
I suspect breaking the direct link between lender and customer has given the lenders some sort of licence to behave however they like. Something stinks. I’m digging into it.
      Cheers, all of us.

Hi guys sorry for this life dusturbance, sorry to say this is just another downfall for this country , i dont think this is the end for us common people, i jusk keep saying another hurdle to overcome and certainly not our last. Your family are so lucky to have parents willing to help at all costs. Oh and culloden my Season seven of Highlander back fantasy i know 👍☀️

Yes, batter on as they used to say in Campbeltown😀. It'll come good eventually. You know i've read about every history and account of Culloden there is and the most surprising thing is that most of them contradict each other a lot. Yet every one of them is written as if their version is absolute fact. Who knows what is fantasy😀.
      Cheers, all of us.
