Nic Cage was possessed by Afro guy. And he changed his name to Nicolas Cage when his father said "Ain't no Coppola gonna go around doing 'You don't say?'"
Here is some songs Ringo sang lead on guys: Yellow Submarine, Don't Pass Me By, With a Little Help From My Friends, What Goes On, Act Naturally, Good Night, Octopus's Garden, I Wanna Be Your Man, Boys, Matchbox and Honey Don't. Lennon sang lead on Come Together.
I've worked with Marc and Mindy and they are wonderful people! They do great non-profit work and when I heard their names introduced I almost spit out my coffee. Very cool to see them as newlyweds and don't judge a book by its cover haha
You gotta get their reaction to this video. I’ve always wondered what these game show contestants’ reactions would be to Jake and Jimmy’s commentary lol.
Couple #4 getting zero points and couple #1 winning felt correct. I am gonna stick up for Afro guy, though. I don't think he got a fair shake. I think he's one of those guys who after you spend twenty minutes with (in a non game show setting) you learn is quirky but really nice.
GREAT episode. Terrible hair, cringey husbands, heartbreaking self-loathing, Eubanks doing his thing, Jake's necrophilia joke and the most adorable contestant of all time. Get in line Jomboy, she's mine!
Growing up, in the late 70's early 80's, I remember my mom would read the tv guide sunday morning and if a movie she liked was going to be on later that day we would head off to the store and gear up with snacks and treats for the movie.
I think it was a pretty meta move, you're guaranteed to be wrong but you can be closer to 25 and only one off of 30, while everybody goes with 25, 30, 35 etc. If they're wrong, theyre off by 5 where as you're only off by 4 or 1. Could be a big brain play.
That one wife reminds me of a 1970s Pam from the office! I love that I had already seen this episode on youtube, it made it even funnier lol. More of these please!
Eubanks saw this and after calling him fat, he now wants a celebrity boxing match, but he loves BBD too much, so he can't bring his heart to do it. He'd be down to grab a few beers and buffet with BBD tho. Also: That "murderer" was my Great Uncle lol. Great man, Father, Uncle, and Grandfather. Unfortunately, he's passed now. Don't want to explain the entire story, but please don't drink and drive. His life was cut short by the stupidity of a careless asshole. RIP Uncle Sunny, miss you.
super cool they got that electrophonic coffin. glad you picked up on that. especially with the panel on top looks like a picture frame of the dead guy. delightful showl and winners. thanks also for calling out the abuser.
I think the strategy behind 29 is that if all couples go over the one who is closer will win. In that scenario if most couples guess in intervals of 5 couple #1 would only be 4 over and win. Plus 2/3 did go over in this episode so I'm assuming couples frequently overestimate their abilities lol
20:02 “has your husband seen a movie more than twice?” BRUH so glad you guys paused to break that down, as soon as he said it i was like yoooooo that’s craazy 😂 then i see jimmy reach for that spacebar and i’m like yesssss #CinemaPod. laughs from the past vibes. we fans have come to love that spacebar. great ep as always, really dig that you do these weekly. it’s a public service and benefits all who are lucky enough for the algorithm (or loved one) to guide to JJTV’s wonderful existence.
For real, pretty crazy to see someone ask that. Most people have seen many movies countless times nowadays. We are lucky to be in the future I guess lol.
I should mention that Chuck Barris came up with some interesting shows in his career of producing. One interesting one you should look at sometime is the 70s show "The New Treasure Hunt", which was a slight revamp of an older format, but it still required picking the right box to win the big prize. The host of the show was Geoff Edwards, who did a rather interesting job with it. He pretty much tortured the contestants in the build up toward whether they actually won a good prize, or if it was just something worthless, known on the show as a "klunk".
Jimmy has been dancing around the key to the game this entire time. He keeps hitting on the fact that no one in this game is ever talking about the same thing. The magic of the game is that it’s ALL innuendo and interpretation. That’s the premise. The point of the game is to expose and display whether or not the couples interpret the questions the same or different, and the magic is when a wholesome answer by one party is backdoored by a completely clueless or horndog answer. The questions are purposefully vague and wide open, the couple that is wired most similarly, are thus the best match for one another and will ultimately win the game.
If they keep watching these they may come to an episode where there’s an actual serial killer on this show, I cannot remember which one or who it was but there is one
I love that the one guy said "Close Your Eyes" which is not the title of a Beatles song, and then told his wife that they didn't sing Magical Mystery Tour even though it was they made an entire movie titled after the song.
The dude with the ‘fro looks like Bob from That 70s Show and was coked out of his brain. The blonde guy with glasses looks like Rob Schneider in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry 😂
Some great stuff here. Also "Wizard of Oz" aired on TV in 1956, so the question is kind of weird. I guess people just didn't watch as much stuff because they were busy fixing up their hairdos.
It's interesting how Bob Eubanks asked a question about Beatles song titles. A few years before getting this show, he was a popular DJ in L.A., and he was heavily responsible for booking The Beatles' concerts at the Hollywood Bowl in 1964 and 1965.
My boomer wife reminded me that by 1972 three movies were on annually. Wizard of Oz Sound of Music Its a Wonderful Life Very easy to have seen any of those multiple times.... even if you ran away screaming when the flying monkees arrived.... 😉
“My wife almost got out the slipknot.“ -Larry, the Newlywed Serial Killer And no one noticed that underwear shot? I can’t be the only douche bag to notice it.
As a boomer I have fond memories of going to the Drive In when Mel Brooks released "Silent Movie". Friends and I watched it every night.... and laughed every night... The cute blonde at the snack bar was another reason.....😉
Not sure if you've seen The Dating Game, but a 1978 episode had a contestant who later was found out to be a fucking SERIAL KILLER. He was in the middle of his killings when he appeared on the show. He ended up winning the episode but the women refused to go on a date with him because he was so creepy.
It was Linda Cardellini m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BMTQ2MDM4MTM2NF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMTM4MjYyMDE@._V1_.jpg and Jessie Buckley m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BMTY5MzkxMjA4MV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMjI0NTg3NzM@._V1_UY1200_CR85,0,630,1200_AL_.jpg
Afro guy is possessed by the "you don't say?" Nic Cage meme
Nic Cage was possessed by Afro guy. And he changed his name to Nicolas Cage when his father said "Ain't no Coppola gonna go around doing 'You don't say?'"
What can I say
the redhead girl was ALL about the show and seemed to actually be pleasant to be around, which is too rare on this show
I think I'm in love with her...
She seems like fun but she also seems like an idiot
@@ethanh6370 Welp you're in love with an older woman.

THANK YOU
i was in my head so hard because I could have sworn Lennon was on Come Together

The reaction to afro guy's eyes is too funny
They're called bert eyes( from sesame Street)I get them too sometimes 😂
everyone in the 70's was high

@@unoriginalname6354 except all these people in these 70s clips are probably like 80 years old now or dead lmao
Can't say I'm surprised. They seem like really nice people.

within the first 5 minutes it feels like there is either a gas leak in the studio or they all shared a pre-show doob
J&J seem to forget it was the 70s so they were all high.
Jimmy was digging redhead.
Started the show wearing his ring, lost it by the end! XD
15:25 what a great story from Jake, once he watched the movie and Sarah Michelle Gellar is beautiful
A real thriller.
Growing up, in the late 70's early 80's, I remember my mom would read the tv guide sunday morning and if a movie she liked was going to be on later that day we would head off to the store and gear up with snacks and treats for the movie.
My mom would plan out her entire weekly TV schedule the night she bought the TV Guide.
HAHAHA yo Jake pointing out how the guess of 29 points makes no sense just killed me
He's right. Another couple could have guessed 30.
I think it was a pretty meta move, you're guaranteed to be wrong but you can be closer to 25 and only one off of 30, while everybody goes with 25, 30, 35 etc. If they're wrong, theyre off by 5 where as you're only off by 4 or 1. Could be a big brain play.
@@toysrusdumpsterbaby9837 you put more thought into it than they did, but you are right.
@@toysrusdumpsterbaby9837 You can't go over so they would have lost if they're actual score was 25
But Jake is wrong.... Listen to Bob explain the rules, and you'll understand why they need to guess "ODD" numbers. Not just 0 & 5's
10:46 OH GOD, SOMEBODY CALL THE 70'S COPS
I hope couple #1 is still together. They seem so wholesome and genuine.
Right? I would only hope they’re some happy, cliche old couple living in an old house somewhere now lol

Gotta be tough to come up with zero on the newlywed game

That intro was sensual af, and I like it.
Jake: "I've got three murderers, now."
Jomboy: "No, no, the other guy is just an abuser".
THIS IS THE DEEP ANALYSIS I SUBSCRIBED FOR.
