When I was there I hired a local fisherman to take me to Playa Josecito. It was like being on a deserted paradise and was for sale at the time. Picture perfect. I also spent time around Puerto Jimenez. A dolphin came up to shore and said hello to my 8 year old son. It was a fantastic memory . The Osa is a lush low population paradise. Thanks for reminding me
I THINK the turtle sanctuary I was at was in Playa Josecito! Need to look at the map again. But it was outside of drake down a dirt road about 30 minutes.
I am thinking you can't drive to Playa San Josecito. Kind of a unique beach for the Pacific coast as it is compromised of small pebbles which leave the water super clear. Near Rio claro which has an awesome 🧘♂️ but dangerous break. The real Costa Rica that not too many get to see there.
I'm going to Drake Bay next month. We're planning to drive from San Jose. Do you have any tips? Are there obvious places to park in the area? What do you do for phone service to get there?
Lotsa great memories and crazy stories from Dráke. I remember sitting on my friend's balcony and watching them run the power lines in and telling his daughter that her life would never be the same. What an understandable. hahaha There are some huge spheres in the center of Caño very few people know about. I live in Tinamastes
Very cool! I lived in Tinamastes years ago! Beautiful area. and wow, Drake sounded like quite the adventure back then. I have wanted to go see the spheres. Definitely on my todo list. Perhaps I'll see you in Tinamastes or Domi sometime!
Hi Sarah - Great video and really cool places featured. Thank you! Wondering if Drake's Bay has good snorkeling from shore at all? See you with the gear on in one of the photos at the end. Heading to CR with my son (9) and a couple of friends and want to be able to explore the water some from shore : ) Thanks!! MHG
I believe I made this trip in early November! So right towards end of rainy season. I didn't tape the extra choppy parts of road. But it was all doable with a solid 4x4,
Hi! Can you share info re: the hotel/airbnb you stayed at? @1:47. Looking to head down there in a couple of days and I have been looking for a spot like this. Would really appreciate it! Thanks!
Hey Sarah, thanks for the vids! We just returned from CR and I watched a bunch of your videos before going for knowledge on the central pacific area. Anyway, I was curious...what do you use to easily edit your videos? Thanks!
Hi Sarah. I will have to say you videos are by far some of the best I have seen regarding information and taking the fear out of moving to Costa Rica. I plan to retire in Puerta Viejo in about 7 years under pensionado, hopefully they will pass their proposed changes and give incentives to move. The one topic no one who talks about Costa Rica has seemed to address is death. What are the laws, and customs for an ex pat who dies in Costa Rica? Who gets called if any to remove your body? What if you want to be brought back to the states? What if you want to stay in Costa Rica? What if you have no family in Costa rica? How much does it usually cost? Can you make your own arrangements and prepay? What if you owned property? I know this topic is a downer, especially after your uplifting video but there is a reality to moving permanently to a foreign country which is inevitable death. You have prepared us well for living there but can you address dying there.
Make final arrangements with a lawyer ~ and name an executor to carryout your final wishes. I am an expat and will be buried here. Also you can donate your body and when you dye the university will take care of your remains. As far as being back to the states I don't know.
Excelente video!
Thanks Sarah!! Will check it out when I'm there!

I was there 2 years ago, it was amazing how many scarlet macaws you'd see and the monkeys everywhere too.
Yes it is very magical indeed!
