I do not own the rights to the music or video. I just wanted to share it with you! This is from Season3 Episode21 with Roger Miller Initial Airing May 12, 1979
When Roger Miller in this episode mentioned he once had Cluck-itis, it’s an allusion to the fact that he voiced Alan-a-Dale the Rooster from Disney’s Robin Hood! 🐓
I remember Roger when he was a fireman in Amarillo Texas.he played guitar with my dad.he liked white bread toast.butter. cinnamon.he liked my song.you can not horse trade with a mule skinner.Em.C.A.1-4-5.
I loved the Muppet Show! I have memories as a small child, swinging on my little blue swing set in the backyard and singing “Dang Me” and “King of the Road.” I loved Roger Miller in Robin Hood and enjoyed sharing that movie with my children-they loved it too! RIP Roger Miller! ❤️❤️❤️❤️You made so many happy with your music.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
It was a family show, but mainly for adults, like the original run of the Flintstones. Fred and Barney even starred in the cigarette and beer ads, which sponsored the show.
You can't take a shower in a parakeet cage but you can be happy if you've a mind to, all you got to do is put your mind to it-knuckle down, buckle down-do it, do it, do it!
Glenn Johnson ......and,so glad to share it with you.Been years since i last saw this.Loved Roger Miller and as a tribute,i often perform some of these numbers in my stage show. Thanks a lot.
Did he have a cold? He kept clearing his throat and his singing sounded slightly off (but maybe it's just the audio) still fun to see him with muppets singing my favorite songs lol
He said someone, maybe a child, made that mistake repeating the title and he just went with it. By the way, the “uncle” part is not nonsense. He was raised by an uncle on a poor cotton farm in southwestern Oklahoma farm as his father died or ran off (I have read both) and his mother couldn’t take care of him.
I used to listen to Roger Miller in upstate NY on the farm where I lived from '63 to '66. Great memories.
My Uncle used to love but she died!
Roger Miller and Muppets: two national treasures!
I love how natural Roger is with the muppets❤

He also did the voice-over narration for Terence Hill's film "Lucky Luke" - as Jolly Jumper, Luke's horse.
Not to mention he did the soundtrack
Yes! I never thought of that.
@@fairportfan2 And Spieltoe in Rankin Bass' Nestor The Long Eared Christmas Donkey
Very cool!! I didn't know that. Thank you.
I was on a road trip with my husband and this medley came on. He was in stitches when I knew all the words 😂
The guys mastery of language and delivery were just one of a kind.
Syruple
Roger Miller is a genius.
A truly brilliant and clever lyricist. and yes: in his own kind of way, he was a unique talent, even genius.
Yes
Not only a master of lyrics but he could turn a phase
"Chicken ain't chicken, 'til it's lickin'-good, fried." I'm sure many would agree, Roger!
And my therapist can't figure out why I make random sounds and say words that ain't words!
The decision to use chicken Muppets with Roger was perfect.
Especially when he sang in Robin hood.
I remember Roger when he was a fireman in Amarillo Texas.he played guitar with my dad.he liked white bread toast.butter. cinnamon.he liked my song.you can not horse trade with a mule skinner.Em.C.A.1-4-5.
Hey that's cool.
"Chicken aint chicken till the chicken is fried!"
"Keep On the Sunny Side".
did we get these great Classics from this one man!!???🙌
I miss Roger Miller! There'll never be another!

Kids TV back then was so much better than the crap shown to children today
The Muppet Show was aimed at adults, not kids.
It was a family show, but mainly for adults, like the original run of the Flintstones. Fred and Barney even starred in the cigarette and beer ads, which sponsored the show.
This is the tonic the world needs during this covid crap Roger brings a smile to any face he's a genius always makes you laugh what a guy
...
Yeah, but ain't no mo. Rip
Those Muppets are pretty good at it too.
I find it awesome that Johnny Cash and Roger Miller were on one of my favorite shows growing up

You can't take a shower in a parakeet cage but you can be happy if you've a mind to, all you got to do is put your mind to it-knuckle down, buckle down-do it, do it, do it!

I always listen to roger miller when I'm in a bad mood too!
Love Roger Miller
He was one of the funniest guys on TV
This is the best episode. My kids adore it
Chicken on the bass is awesome.
Fabisch Factor That’s Floyd from The Electric Mayhem
The muppets turned into chickens which was the plot when Roger Miller guest starred in Season 3.
This makes my heart happy :))))))
Sweet Charity me too
I'm surprised these chickens would sing chicken ain't chicken till it's fried! Say it ain't so!
I laughed out loud when he said "Buffalate" lol
@HQ Music Videos
Haha yes I know right.
Lol 🤣🤣 Buffalate
And Roger almost did, too.
Absolutely love it!!!!
This is my bliss.
Who knew Sesame Street would bring me back to the best music ever?

Roger played the singing rooster in Robin hood a great Disney legend
This will be stuck in my head for weeks
Pretty damn good for powering through a cold
Did he have a cold? He kept clearing his throat and his singing sounded slightly off (but maybe it's just the audio) still fun to see him with muppets singing my favorite songs lol
Very cute!
Still nice! Great musician
One of the songs You Can’t Roller Skate in the Buffalo Herd was previously sung in the Ruth Buzzi episode by the Gogolala Jubilee Jugband.
Fantastico!
I remember this
He must have thought doing this bit quite amusing and entertaining
Yup...
clever man!!!
Back when Disney was cool
160moebius2 back when this was made the muppets were NOT a part of the Disney empire
@@DrSho thank you....
This is my favorite M.S. episode, followed by the Loretta Lynn one.
If there was ever a singer that was a perfect match for the Muppets, it was Roger Miller. His brand of droll silliness was perfect for the Muppets.
@@tiffanycarter5432
Haha yes
You know you you made it when you were on the Mupper Show!! His song were totally random but great all the same!
Anyone else 👍 this episode best?
That was awesome and I dont even know why lol
It's Roger Miller, that's why!
The reason is because of great sketches music and celebrity guest stars
"My uncle used to love me but she died" WOW, Roger miller prophesied
He said someone, maybe a child, made that mistake repeating the title and he just went with it.
By the way, the “uncle” part is not nonsense. He was raised by an uncle on a poor cotton farm in southwestern Oklahoma farm as his father died or ran off (I have read both) and his mother couldn’t take care of him.
Now I've got another name to throw out when people give me shit for playing and ovation guitar.
He looks like he's been toking on something. Especially at the end of the video lol!
A Ten.
My deparartmeent job done.01
Who is the black rooster supposed to be?
MichaelBrookham He appeared as a villain in a chicken western sketch once.
The muppets are a kids version of SNL
If you cant be my no.1 no.2 on you !!!!!
Which episode is this?
season 3, episode 21
My uncle or my aunty?
puts
.
"My uncle used to love me but she died."
Roger Miller predicting the trans movement...
I don't know why but my uncle was my fave
Roger Miller was a weirdo. Just listen to these nonsensical lyrics. That's what made him a good match for the Muppets.
puts
.e
"My uncle used to love me but she died" Roger must have seen onto the future.
The reason he wrote ‘dang me’ he was high AF
Anyone else think he looks like The Mandalorian? 😂
I guess so 😃😂
Let's see.. I like the Muppet Show and Roger Miller but HATE Disney. What to do, what to do?
