    Great as always!Instead of copying color codes you can copy (Ctrl+C) the source object, select the target object and Paste Style (Ctrl+Shift+V). I use this a lot. (The other paste options in the Edit menu are helpful, too: Paste Size and Paste in Place.)

      That's a great tip. I need to start doing that.

      I’m honoured you like my comment. I know shortcuts, you are a creativity God. Other shortcuts I use a lot since I follow your tutorials: path operations such as ctrl+alt+c = stroke to path, ctrl+shift+k = break apart, ctrl++ union ;-)

    Never knew you could do that with circles, turn them into just curved lines by pulling the curve point into towards the center. Definitely see myself using that a bit more.

    Love this graphic. But even more, thanks SO much for the "scaling with solid circle tip"! Will come in handy when working with text on a circular path. Game changer!

    I really love Inkscape so much. This is so straightforward, no wonder the logo was given the subtitle, 'Draw Freely'. Exactly! Also wanted to comment that this design reminds me of older graphic styles, like 'Space Odyssey' movie...70's for sure. Cool. Thanks for the video!

    Long time listener - first time caller. Huge fan of your tutorials, I've watched many many MANY of them, but I have to constructively say this was the most frustrating one to follow. You backtracked several of the steps, when it came to duplicating the shapes, rotating them, just little a past the half way point when we added the circle in the middle to get the objects to rotate. I've followed along with many of your more advanced tutorials with no issue but something was definitely up with the flow on this one, it was a tad confusing. Maybe it's just me. Either way, I still love this design and idea and I'm glad you shared this with us, I eagerly await your next upload. Thanks again.

    I'm new to Inkscape and have been watching a lot of your old vids. @0:40 in this vid, what does setting the View to Custom do for the purposes of this video, and similarly in other vids? As I've mentioned, I'm a newcomer and am using v1.2.x on a Mac... is setting the view to custom a necessary step, or is it just to make the layout look the same to make it easier to follow? Is there an equivalent setting in v1.2 (or am I just overlooking it)? P.S., I've also purchased your Inkscape Masterclass and logo design courses. You're an excellent teacher in your courses and here on UA-cam. Thanks!!

    • @HighfireX
      @HighfireX 6 років тому

      Tom Elegeert there are different programs you can use, such as flash, OpenToonz, anime studio. You could also use JavaScript and css to animate elements of SVG in webpages.

    hi. when I move a duplicated a circle, it moved to one corner instead of to the center. If I clicked to top right corner, then it moved to the bottom left and vice versa. How do I fix this please?

    Hey Nick! So I was working on exporting a normal file and when I went to export it, I did, but the way it looked was very pixelated. I don't know what caused it, and it was wierd because I've had plenty of other projects render fine. Any ideas on why that's happening?

    Any ideas how to make such sectors, kinda like "tracks" on a diskette, but with rounded corners?
    Using a line with round caps doesn't quite work, because the endings can only be fully circular or flat, nothing in between. When I make them flat, hoping that I would be able to convert the stroke to shape and then somehow round the corners, that doesn't work either, because the flat line endings are not quite along the radius, they're a little bit slanted, so two consecutive sectors don't match :P and it doesn't matter anyway, because after converting the stroke into a shape, rounding the corners by hand looks ugly, each one turns out different (no consistency guaranteed) :P And of course after converting to a shape, there is no going back, so when I need to edit it and change the layout of those "tracks", editing them as paths is a nightmare ;q
    Any ideas?

      Nick Saporito to be honest i tried to watch your inkscape logo tutorials and i couldn't follow but then i found inkscape explained which actually helped me to understand the basics of the tool. I just wanna thank you for all of the hard work you've been putting into this!

      Using hotkeys is a great time saver. I don’t know them all, but once you used one, you’ll never stop. (However, I seldom use the function keys because my fingers are too short. ;-)
