Great explanation of the MACD and histogram. I really like slow stochastics. Where I trade thru I used to have an oscillator with %K %D and %D slow. I modified them to use a 21 - 7 - 7 day periods. This worked very well. I always knew if the oscillator bottomed when the price bottomed at the same period one or the other would have to go lower, either the price or the oscillator and the same for a top. This made me wait because I am a swing trader using options. Of course it could always continue lower or higher but it sure kept me from an earlier entry point. They eliminated that study and only use %K and %D periods. Always a thumbs up on your videos.
Thanks Dave. The layering in with the turn of the Histogram and then the cross looks useful and has been added to my list to think about. I do use the PPO with one extra, on the daily I have a horizontal line at 2 and weekly line at 6. I use these as a strength indicator. Once the PPO line gets close to, or above the horizontal line, then avoid the transaction as there will be likely consolidation or a pull back. Bit like the over 70 on RSI14. It is a don't buy, it does not mean sell.
David . You are the Great Person. You know, I am the best trader. The best model for trading is Mathemathical MACD Model. I am sure You know the signal line is too high. Try to change fast line and slow line settings. It is very usefull study. 5 years of my live. Great show David. You are the best teacher of technical analysis I know.
I’m a huge proponent of the MACD & histogram’s ability to forecast market or price direction. The PPO is new to me though, definitely want to see how it compares to the MACD on longer time frames.
Great work, in part of your conversation here you mentioned scaling into a position. A great topic for a future video could be on scaling into and out of positions. From a sunny Christchurch, New Zealand. 👍
Awesome stuff. Dave is the real deal on Tech analysis. Koyfin looks good maybe a full video on it as well sometime. Wish i was at money show. Capitalism at work. If you never been it is amazing. Something for any type of trader. Teaching us all how to make and protect our money. 📈
If you still have to wait for the cross-over, to prevent whipsaw, then what was the point of this video? MACD only works reasonably well with long trends, in a fast changing market you actually *LOSE* money.

Definitely some similarities between slowed stochastics and MACD! Appreciate the feedback, D

Love the comments on watching specific levels on the indicator- thanks for sharing this! D

Way better for long-term time frames IMO. D
Thank you very much for this great lesson, Dave! I'd wish you make more educational content like this one! 😉
Appreciate the feedback! Lots more to come... D
@@DKellerCMT Thank you, Dave! D

Appreciate the suggestion! Have never been to NZ and hope to get my family there someday D
thanks for showing the PPO today. Love your show.. from Rainy City of Vancouver, Canada ... Yea'
Glad you enjoyed this one! Definitely entering the rainy half of the year in Seattle :) D
I like the SHORTER chart layout. It's OIK to show the LONG , but switch to the SHORT for discussion ~ 😎
Appreciate the feedback! D

Just got back and the MoneyShow was a pretty awesome experience! Appreciate the feedback on a full Koyfin video. D
I do like the MACD
Me too! Thanks for watching D
The change in the trend can be identified earlier by using several time periods for calculating the indicator
Great point! This is the only the beginning..... D
If many traders are using MACD, doesn't the predication just become self-fulfilling?
Love this question, added to the mailbag, and will discuss on our next mailbag episode! D

For a swing-trading time frame, I'd be using indicators optimized for that approach. MACD crossovers are not the best option here. D
👍🏻
Thanks so much for watching! D
