    Washing machine motor wiring diagram • Washing machine motor ... a tutorial on how to wire universal motor or washing machine motor to ac/dc known as direct wire or hot wire washing machine motor is very easy just follow the wires and starting from bottom 1+3 stay connected and the rest 2 and 4 we gonna connect them to battery or ac source the connection is the same
    because is a universal motor it can run on ac/dc.
    The universal motor is so named because it is a type of electric motor that can operate on AC or DC power. It is a commutated series-wound motor where the stator's field coils are connected in series with the rotor windings through a commutator. It is often referred to as an AC series motor. The universal motor is very similar to a DC series motor in construction but is modified slightly to allow the motor to operate properly on AC power. This type of electric motor can operate well on AC because the current in both the field coils and the armature (and the resultant magnetic fields) will alternate (reverse polarity) synchronously with the supply.

      Vishwan Purandat thanks and no offense lots of stuff that I am presenting here trained electricians say it's impossible and make no sense, we should think outside the box and the conventional way of teaching and learning electronics.

      IcySkullz alright you should check for continuity all the pins to see which one goes to the chasing. Could be blue =neutral, red =live, yellow=ground tell me the country of this washing motor different wiring colors

    • @Icyskullz
      @Icyskullz 6 років тому

      @@NoSkillsRequiredIt is from a LG washing machine. I am from Singapore. Its usually green blue and brown here

    • @NoSkillsRequired
      @NoSkillsRequired  6 років тому

      IcySkullz unusual wiring the only choice is to check for continuity between each wires and the case of the motor and that will be the ground, now as you look at the motor plug you should have another pin that apparently is not connected?

  • @MikeGrayM70
    @MikeGrayM70 6 років тому +1

    So with one coil being disconnected, does that mean only 2 coils are being used?

    • @NoSkillsRequired
      @NoSkillsRequired  6 років тому

      Mike Gray on some motors there is just one coil with 2 ends, some others have another pin which is in the middle called center tap, or can be 2couils joined together providing clockwise movement or counter clockwise movement

    I have an engine that has 9 contacts: I excluded 2 (tacho sensor) 2 (brushes) remain 5 wires, from the outside you don't understand where they go, you think there's a thermal protection. I powered with 12v for safety but I couldn't get it started ... Do you have any advice to give me? I don't want to take it apart because it's riveted. Thanks

      In theory yes but you have to supply 220v dc to perform the same as in the main power supply

    Doesn't brushes tell us it's EITHER a Universal Motor OR a DC motor? Not exclusively a Universal Motor.

    • @NoSkillsRequired
      @NoSkillsRequired  4 роки тому +1

      Universal motor by definition is a motor that can run on ac or dc alternators have brushes and so on synchronous motors don't
