Great info. I just purchased the 12" version.
Those are great. I’ve always been frustrated by the grips sticking out when clamping to the bench.
Good point. I think that will be one of the real-world benefits of these new clamps. Best to you.
How often does something come up where you need this function? Seems more like a gimick or something you may need once every 5 years or so if at all. I mean where this function is absolutely necessary. Not where it is helpful but how often are you clamping something where you need to twist the handle around or you wont be able to clamp something at all?
About half the time it's an advantage. My buddy was just over at the shop helping me clamping something up, and he realized the handles pivot out of the way. He thought it was a really neat feature, and made sure it didn't hit us below the belt as we worked around the bench. Absolutely necessary? Not sure about that, but it's nice to have a couple in the shop. Thanks.
