  • Earthships can be built in any part of the world, in any climate and still provide electricity, potable water, contained sewage treatment and sustainable food production. Reduce and even eliminate your utility bills. Get ALL of your electricity from the sun and the wind.
    Catch water from the sky for drinking, bathing, cleaning, showering, washing, flushing, etc. Contain and treat ALL of the sewage you produce in a healthy and beautiful way. Maintain comfortable temperatures in your building ALL year long, in any climate. Reduce or even eliminate your heating and cooling bills.

    Some 30 years ago, I wrote a sci-fi story about a post-apocalyptic society, which restarted civilization from scratch, building everything from barely survived ruins and junk. Someone told me about Earthship near Taos and I traveled to see it for myself. It looked amazingly "the same" as in my story, and I had no idea such place existed ;-) It was a fantastic experience! Thanks for this video, love it!

      I rented one of these for a week in Taos a couple of years ago In the summer bc I wanted to build one for myself and wanted to see what it was like. The indoor air quality wasn’t good and it smelled like tires. The water was discolored coming out of the sinks And lots of bugs inside the home. Also, it was Very cold inside the home at night. I rented one of their best and biggest homes on the property. Not cheap to have built either. It was interesting to stay In one for a week on vacation though.

      @@EL-si6nj I like a lot of their ideas but you can still use some of the best qualities of the earthships and not use trash as building materials. I understand the desire to try to repurpose and recycle, but the last place you want the chemicals from those tires leeching into is your garden, or your water or just your walls and surroundings for that matter. There were ways that people built sturdy walls all around the world before the invention of concrete and bricks, or you could even use roman concrete.

    Earthships are great but if you start charging crazy prices for blueprints the progression will not expand. The idea is to have a free house, or nearly at no cost. Thats absolutely not possible with a $5000.00 for blueprints.

      I can't do that in the states because of the green card restrictions. I post them on my main channel too and I'm about half way to breaking even on the production costs. Travel expenses. A few places have offered but I turned them down. I'm looking at approaching Atlas Obscura and seeing if they might be Interested in my content. Most people don't appreciate content like this. Its really hard to get subs. Plus I would have to put out a video a day to see if it was really feasible. If MGTOW channels are demonitized and can't reach my audience anymore I'll go full time producing one of these each day. Thanks for watching. I'm also glad to get 4-6k views on these videos on my main page. The next video goes up in a few days.

      They also invited me to film some earthships here in Ontario, Canada. I'm laying low because of the Corona Virus.

    Cool. I live in Angel Fire about 30 minutes from Taos. We have at least one earth ship up here, but it's alpine so probably a little cold for this type of house.

    I hear they smell like tires on the inside.

    • @koolbuildings7916
      @koolbuildings7916  7 років тому +5

      They didn't unless the tires are leaking into the building. Tires are toxic and many earships use a liner to keep the toxic chemicals away. These ones don't seem to have a liner but I didn't smell toxic tires.

      It's a great tune. I like to crank it, lift the shades up and dance butt naked to it for all my neighbors to see :D.
