      I’ll definitely do it, probably every year to see how it holds up. I just applied B’laster surface shield earlier this week and did that video. I think that’s the most critical step in rust prevention, but the cosmoline black sure looks nice and also appears to offer great protection.

    I tried Fluid Film and after seeing how it gets washed off, I switched to Cosmoline for the undercarriage. Superior stuff, still going on strong after couple years. I did mine in translucent since I had several vehicles that had some surface rust so I wanted to keep an eye on things.So far I have excellent results.

      I have also seen great reviews on the translucent Cosmoline. I’m glad it’s working well for you to prevent rust. I ended up using B’laster surface shield with a 360 degree spray wand to coat all the cavities and places I couldn’t get the Cosmoline. I also sprayed it over the Cosmoline black coated surfaces. Seems to be holding up great so far.

    Nice bruv! Please give us an update in a year or two!
    Edit: you just covered that upcoming update. I’ll look out for it. Thanks for creating and sharing.

      I’ll definitely do it! My goal is to keep this rig alive forever, and preventing rust is a top priority for that.

    Great video! Do you need to prepare a rusted surface before spraying this on?

      I wouldn’t spray it on any scaly rust because it might flake off and expose metal. Superficial rust is fine. I did take some time to condition the surfaces before applying the RP342. You can see the process I used in detail in my Part 1 video on my channel if you’re interested.

    Great video! Did you degrease and use some sort of cleaner on all the parts before? I'm just curious,

      Glad you enjoyed it. I first used a wire brush to brush any rusty areas. Then I used purple power degreaser to clean and degrease all the surfaces. Then I applied rustoleum rust reformer to all the grossly rusty areas. Then I applied the RP-342 black. I have a part 1 video on my channel on the conditioning of the surfaces prior to applying the RP-342 if you’re interested .

    How many cans to do the frame?

    • @AK_5.9
      @AK_5.9  7 місяців тому +1

      The whole project took me about six cans. The frame alone would probably be three or four cans. That’s for one coat.
