Rebecca has a voice as clear and pure as crystal. She's a true virtuoso - the only other Christine I've seen who even comes close is Sierra Boggess, but not even Sierra has the pure liquid clarity of Rebecca's voice. She's truly in a league of her own.
Pretty amazing. She was in her very early 20s and had already sung Cossette in the premiere of Les Miz and Eliza in My Fair Lady, and had an opera career going, too.
sierra is extremely overrated. Her voice is harsh and throaty for the role the only reason she was cast for the 25th anniversary was because of Paint Never Dries.
That's because you never heard Inger Olsson Moberg she had the purest soprano voice and the best cadenza. Katie Hall also had such purity and clarity. Besides Rebecca they had the ideal voice for christine - light and youthful as Christine should be. Katie should've been the 25th concert choice, and John Owen Jones The Phantom. They used autotune to make sierra's voice better, she has a too harsh voice and she was way older for Christine.
I love how angry her "how dare you?" sounds never heard another Christine sounds so angry. Also her "Soar" is the best ever. And all the rest was perfect too!!! I was unsure to consider her my fav Christine but now I'm sure she is the best!!
Rebecca's voice was sublime... I saw her 5 times in Toronto and she always gave me goosebumps... and what also set her apart from the other Christine's I saw was her superior acting ability. She was the only Christine I have seen that was able to capture the character perfectly without over-acting... but her voice was her greatest asset. Her full voiced lyric soprano gave Carlotta a run for her money.
Amen.I completely agree with you.I also saw her 5 times in Toronto and even in a video for the toronto production on cbc,Harold prince quoted her cadenza in think of me as perfection,as of yet,he hasn't seen or heard anyone as good as Rebecca Caine perform this role, and that is saying alot.Bravissima!Nancy Costello.
I wish they had recorded the Canadian Cast with Colm and Rebecca like they did with the original London cast, I for one, would LOVE to have these songs! Don't get me wrong I love Sarah, but Rebecca is MY Christine!!!
I absolutely agree! Before I resorted to purchasing the highlights album of the Canadian cast I searched high and low for a full 2-CD recording of the Original Canadian Cast but to my sorrow such a release doesn't exist. :( Rebecca Caine is definitely my favorite Christine at the moment followed by Anna O'Byrne who is a musical delight as Christine in Love Never Dies.
sierra is extremely overrated. she is only worshipped because of the rah concert it is the most accessible, professionally shot version released on dvd, which should have been John Owen-Jones, Killian Donnelly and Gina beck if wasn't for that garbage fanfiction "lnd"
i agree with you! there should have been a two disc of Canadian Cast recording instead of highlights. i think they should made broadway version of phantom with sarah brightman(haters be damned i love her!) steve barton & MCrawford. other ones i sugested would be clarie moore (brightman's understudy) & rebecca luker. the only one thing i change is Janet Devenish as meg giry.

Rebecca remains one of my all-time favourite Christines. Splendid vocals. Whenever I have an opportunity to hear her, I don't reject it!
I just... LOVE Rebecca Caine!! Though I have never seen her live, I know a for a fact that she's the one of the best Cosettes and Christines!!

Ooh I LOVE how she delivered the "the face... in the mask?" And how she floated "soar!"
Thank you so much. I have been looking for Caine's Chirstine. She really is fantastic.
Goodness. If only I could go back in time and watch her performances.

The Canadian Cast recording is most remarkable

The Canadian Cast recording is most remarkable. ❤️🇨🇦
SAW HER IN GLASGOW AND SHE CAPTIVATED ME WITH THAT PURE VOICE.
Simply gorgeous voice.
She is absolutely stunning. Perfection

I think she would've paired extraordinarily well with Anthony Warlow, had they ever done an international cast album like Les Mis got.
I am completely speechless....... I don't know what to say 😳
Her voice is sooo beautiful!!!
Rebecca Caine is one of my favorite Christines, alongside Gina and Sierra.

It's such a shame this isn't a two-disc album. It kills me because Rebecca is my FAVORITE Christine! Much better than Sarah!

I just don’t get it. I’ve heard better understudies/alternates. She’s pretty average and not a patch on any of the 10 Christine’s I’ve seen.
