thanks for this. I fixed my issues. I just wasn't able to run 120hz. only a 50 inch LG tv and not as fancy as your model but again, appreciate the video. It worked!
what LG model do you have and how's your experience so far with 120fps? I need details please it would be very helpful.
This was a really good video thank you
thanks dude!!!!💪🏾
Thanks for this
I have a question? Are Samsung TVs considered good for gaming? I recently bought a very pricey Samsung 2020 model Q6DT Series and it doesn’t support 120hz! I’m like “what”! Are all Samsung TVs the same? Do you recommend any tv when it comes to gaming? I want to get the best graphics out of my new Xbox Series X.
Thanks this might sound like a stupid question but how did you bring up the screen showing what your monitor is displaying when you showed its performing at 120fps ? 🤔
Your videos help me alot man, thank you!
You explained this well thanks
I turned HDR10 on but then i had the entire screen lit up with weird contrast. So i put the hdmi cord in the other way around but then when i turned the HDR10 off i had very intense red colors. Once again i put the hdmi cord like it was and then when i turned on HDR10 the weird lighting on the screen was gone.
So my question is should i buy a new hdmi cable?
I think it's simply impossible to do 120hz and HDR at the same time on XB1X because you are forced to "allow 4k" for HDR to work and this means it goes to 4:4:4 chroma subsampling. If you don't allow 4k, it goes to 4:2:2 which is not the standard for HDR and that's why HDR doesn't work. Not a bandwidth issue. Your monitor should be capable of 1440p, HDR, 120hz, Freesync all at once I think, but because the Xbox forces HDR at 4:2:2 you can't have a lower resolution like 1440p. Hopefully, the Series X will not have this problem and we can do 120hz and HDR together through HDMI
@@goldiedan5567 Xbox One X should be able to do 4K HDR it has to be your TV. Bring up your Tv menu while your on your HDMI that your Xbox is connected to. You should have a HDMI format option of some kind there. You should have an option to change. Change to it then go back to Xbox and the HDR for Gaming should work then HDR and 4K should work at the same time. I could do it on a Xbox One S.
I have a 4k gaming monitor with my series x and it has the option for aim stabilizer. I am able to enable ot on the xbox home screen but when I launch Halo infinite it becomes inaccessible. Do I need to disable Hdr on my xbox to use the monitors aim stabilizer? Would you reccomend using the aim stabilizer function? I also notice it lowers the brightness a significant amount.
I thought I was watching Vince Vaughn sell me something from Speaker city for a sec….lol.
no VRR?
and the resolution settings page under gaming seemed to say the native resolution max is 1440p at 120hz?
Doesn’t work for me my monitor is 240hz but it’s not showing up and is saying my monitor doesn’t support 120hz even though I play Cold War on my ps5 at 120 🤔
Hola.
I have so on my series S my gameplay looks normal in hdr but when I try to capture a gameclip it only captures it in sdr and the game comes out really dark. I don’t know how to fix this.
What tv is better this one or the Lg nanocell85?
I have the ru7300 samsung curve i set mines to 4k at 60hz it looks dim i need help
So I’m thinking of getting a 1080p hdr 144hz monitor for my series s, and I heard somewhere that for 1080p 120hz you only need hdmi 2.0 and 2.1 is only if you want 4K 120hz. Another problem I have with the series s is that you can’t go 1080p HDR 120hz you have to do 4K to get hdr which I would not be able to do 4K with the 120hz. But it allows 4K hdr 60.
have you tried doing custom resolution @1080p, then go back and check "allow 4K"? i don't know if this works, but that's a similar workflow to let's say a roku ultra if it works. roku by default only allows hdr with 4k unless you go a bit deeper in the settings. i was just wondering if it's similar (i have yet to get a new 4k hdr capable tv and try this)..
@@djejpro thanks for the recommendation, I’ll definitely try that and most likely get the monitor either way, just because I think losing the HDR for the small amount of games that will have 120fps is worth it.
Can u calibrate the HDR on Vid vid mode where it’s extremely bright
I have the Xbox series s but i don’t think my tv supports 4K do I need to buy a new tv and a hdmi cord? Or what do I do
Great vídeo !!
A question
Connecting The Series S to your OLED TV , when you select 4K /120hz resolution, Does It allow you to actívate HDR at The same time ??
Some people says that The HDMI cable included with The series S is 2.0 which does could not allow you to activate 4k/120hz/HDR at The same time
Could you clarify this please ??
My lg tv has hdmi 2.0 port if i buy a 2.1 cable will i still be able to use all the features
"I'm a stallion, so I leave that off!"

A trick : watch movies on Flixzone. Been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.
Why won’t my 1440p 165hz monitor play my Series X at 1440p 120hz? It only lets me do 1440p 60hz or 1080p 120hz? It says my monitor can do up to 144hz on HDMI? I have a ultra high speed HDMI(up to 48 gbsp).
How do. Calibrate hdr if u have a tcl 43" class 4 series 4k uhd hdr roku smart TV 43s431
I have HDR 4K 120hz on my Hisense Tv with my Xbox Series X. On your TV is where you get the problem. You need to goto your HDMI setting on your tv. You need to find the enhanced option. Once that is on your in business.
My TV tcl ep640 i think didnt support 120...
will my xbox series S run cooler at 720P instead of 4k
u should have kept the lights off. HDR actually req a dark room.. its not made for bright rooms.
Will these same settings work on a 1440p 165hz monitor
Just got. HDMI 2.1 from GameStop recently got 4K tv but I can only run 1080p 120hz
what if i my tv is 2.0 hdmi with the hdmi 2.1 that came with the xbox s what does that mean for me
i have an aoc 1444hz monitor can i run warzone 120fps ? FPS BOOST IS grey and i cant click it xbox series s
Doesnt the ps5 and xbox series x come with 2.1 hdmi cables???
DO you know if a 100Hz LG tv will play actually at 100 Hz with the xbox xseries s/x or will only play plain 60 fps since there; no option on xbox for 100hz mode?
put it on 120 and it will play as high as your 100hz monitor will allow, it does not HAVE to me 120hz
Whats better for a S on a 4K VIZIO??
4K / 60 or 1080p / 120??
So confused and can’t really tell the difference. My gut says 4K though.
I think 4K 60, it's not 4k real like series X but is upscaled
If you own a L.G t.v then press the green button on your remote multiple times and it tells your fps
What controller hanger is that?
Also the refresh rates arent showing up please help
I won’t read these but the series s does NOT come with the correct wire
I believe heavy you get what you pay for but one for 24$ at Walmart gold plated… Kate a few months if lucky or 35$ for a rocket fish it’s worth the rocket fish and between it and a cheap 48 gbps (2.1) at Walmart I assure you visual the nicer one had a far better picture and it’s listed to this day, that was over 2 years ago 35$ one time vs 18-25$ every few months (to keep the high details it proceeds) anyone that disagrees hasn’t tested or some part of their set up if obsolete.
:) karma effects everything is a good way to look at it. If it’s too good ti be true… it is. Other then that your video was great and clean brother thanks much :) keep it up
Wat hdmi port do i put my hdmi cable in 1 2 3 mine is in 3
thank you
Is a LG cx65 good for gaming?
So basically I need a 120hz monitor in order to play 120fps? I only have a 75hz monitor from asus and I don’t have that option so I guess I’m just gonna have to buy a better monitor?
Yes my friend has a 75 hz moniter but it still only runs 60 hz on series s because in setting you only have option for 60 hz or 120 hz and if you pick 120 hz with a 75 hz moniter it says your moniter does not support 120 so you have to keep it at 60 hz
I bought the Acer Predator XB273K because it says it can run 4K and 120hz but once I set everything up it dosent give me the option to use 4K and 120hz, it won’t even let me use 1440p, I have a ultra high speed 2.1 hdmi cord, and when I have the option to use 4K UHD the refresh rate option isn’t there. I know my monitor and Xbox can support 4K and 120hz but still can’t get it to support it for some reason, can anyone help?
Does the monitor have a hdmi 2.1 port because if not you can't run it at 4k 120 but you could try 1440p 120
How does this dude not have 1 mil subs
Bro I’ve been looking for someone to go to settings through the home button so I can go to turn my hertz down
Also i have my tv set to 4k UHD and Dolby vision everything else but i am trying to get it to 120hz i dont even have the box that shows 60hz so that box isnt showing up
hit your tv info button on your remote when your playing a game it should show your refreash rate
I want hdr off with 120 fps but it doesn't let me
Ye i have a Xbox series s snd my hdmi is only high speed but tysm ima go buy kne ❤
If your TV only runs at 60Hz, is it worth the money to buy a good high speed 2.1 hdmi cable if running a Series S system?
I have monitor 2k support up to 165hz so if i buy hdmi 2.1 can i play native 4k with 165hz?
You don't need hdmi 2.1 since the console only does 1440p at 120hz. Or 4k 60hz. The cable that comes with the series s is only hdmi 2.0 anyway. Ultra high speed is hdmi 2.1
He doesn't know what he's talking about........allso saying that 12 bit is better image in a 10 bit panel tv is out of order
My series s just does 120hz at 1080p and it won’t to 4k at 120
Im running 1440 at 120hz on my one x. Just sucks being capped at 30fps 💀💀
It may be a alot to ask but Can you check this monitor out and tell me if it will be able to run 120 FPS?Acer Nitro VG240Y (Its 144hz 1080p
Personally think HDR is way overrated. HDR highlights some colours but washes out others - play games without HDR and see the difference.
Is it just me or does graphics on warzone look bad on a tv with this system
The TV you linked got a mediocre 6.6 score on rtings. Is it the same tv as in the video ?
Have same tv he has but mine 55 inch so there for he's 75 so his more power ful but happy with 55 lg 4k ultra
Wil I notice any deffernce between xbox series s and xbox series x if I play on 60fps
Not every game, like Warzone will not achieve 120 fps in higher resolution
Wait I thought the Xbox series s couldn’t run 4K 120 hz ????
For the Series S a game will usually internally render at a lower resolution such as 1440p or 1080p and then upscale the image before sending it to your TV at 4K @ 120 10bits per color channel rgb. But generally the game has to handle the frame pacing properly. An example of this being done correctly is Gears 5. An example of it done incorrectly is Halo Infinite. Halo infinite breaks VRR and also renders internally at such a low resolution that it looks pretty bad at 120fps. But the series S handles Infinite at 4k@60 HDR + VRR very well.
Gears 5 is the other side of the coin. It looks so very good and performs so well on the Series S. I questioned my decision to get a Series S until I saw how good it looks. No regrets and I’ll probably use the money on Gamepass for the next year or two.

Great video
1 question I have the the nano86 and I have all the the green ticks on general 4k tv details except dolby vision any idea how I get that turned on many thanks.
Nintendo: "WTF did you just say!?"
“I’m a stallion , so I leave that off” haha
I cant use 120Hz when i am in 4K UHD
So... Does the xbox series s run at 4k 120hz? As mine says I need a faster cable? Where can I find one
No, the series s can only achieve up to 1440p@120. It can upscale to 4K but it wouldn’t be native, and you most likely would only be able to get 60hz at the point. And the cable that you need should’ve came with the console 🤔
@@Speedy.2ss mine says high speed cable Not ULTA high speed so I know I need a faster cable
@@xvrnp2985 if you have the series s, the hdmi 2.1 cable isn’t needed at all since it’s only useful for 4K@120hz which the series s can’t handle. The hdmi 2.0 cable is the best for the series s. Which console do you have?
Why is that the exact same TV I have LOL only 65
What if my tv doesn’t support 4khd at 120? Do I go 1080 p with 120 or stay with 4khd at 60?
Depends, for you I’d recommend a 1440p 120hz since that’ll show detail as well as responsiveness but if you want one thing more than the other go for the one you want more, for me it was the 120hz so I got a 1080p 120hz.
@@sirjam34 4k 60 then if you can afford it or 1440p 144hz for a cheaper alternative. Both look amazing at the end of the day
@@sanjefff I have it on that now with game mode. Idk maybe my settings are off, it just doesn’t pop like I thought it would on the series s.
I have a Samsung q80t that support HDMI 2.1 120ghz does the Xbox series s support 4K 120 GHz
Yes the Series S will upscale to 4k 120. In Xbox settings make sure allow 4K is checked. Also on my LG I leave Allow VRR unchecked in 120hz because of some screen flicker.
I'm confused my monitor is 1440p but the HDMI are 2.0 does that mean I'm not getting the true graphics
if ur monitor is 1440p then u are good with hdmi2.0 as long as ur monitor supports 120hz or above
You shouldn't use 12 bit in a 10 bit panel tv
Unfortunately most tv’s don’t have 120hz unless you get some cracked out oled running $1,500
Series S came with a High speed hdmi cable, only the ps5/X have the "ultra high speed hdmi cable", so out of the box series S doesnt have hdmi 2.1
Technically no hdmi 2.1 port on any tv is (4K at 120hz ) that’s the misleading information. Your not going to find a tv that has a 2.1 hdmi port. As far as hdmi 2.1 cable they are advertised wrong the true name is hdmi uhd.
Weird, because my tv has two hdmi ports on the back that say 4k@120hz..
Danm bro i really need a new tv on jah lmaoooo
Is the series s running on 120fps on cod?
According to digital foundry, yes the series s can hit 1080/120, if you manually select the performance graphics option in settings. Just make sure you are on a compatible monitor/tv
My tv is so old that i only can choose if i want 4k 😂 thats it
Under it there is a Hz and this secction is not there 🤣
mid level TV's are going down in price so hopefully in the near future you can upgrade if you want to.
You do NOT need a 2.1 HDMI cable to get 120 hz!! 1440p, 120hz on the Series S comes with a 2.0 HDMI. 2.0 can only go to 1440p 120+ hz and 2.1 is for 4K 120+ hz. This guy is upscaling his Series S to 4K! Upscaling basically means it’s NOT TRUE 4K. The Series S is NOT NATIVE 4K!!! The Series S is only NATIVE 1440p!! Upscaling is trash 🗑 do your research!!
the best comment! even though i don't think 1440p is real especially with 120hz
Put it at 1440p 120 hertz
Does the one x come with 2.1?
You'll only get 60hz on a Xbox One X dude. You'll be able to get 4k and HDR at the same time.
Oh lol we have the same tv
Or get a 1440p high refresh rate monitor were you can get 120hz with a highspeed hdmi 2.0 🤦🏻♂️
or you can save money instead of wasting your money or your parents money 🤦♂️
That's why i got the LG C1 65in is the best tv i have seen on the market
I have a monitor
Save yourself the trouble and watch a different video people
Your so causal but so hilarious
Thats because you dont have vrr on your tv
Note: the Xbox series s comes with a hdmi 2.0 cable so if u want to game at 4K 120 FPS u can pick up a hdmi 2.1 cable at Best Buy or GameStop the Xbox series x comes with a hdmi2.1 and ps5
Yo seriously you are a lifesaver, I would have been going nuts trying to figure this thing out all day. Just bought a new LG nanocell TV & couldn't figure out why it wouldn't go into 4k mode 😒
Saw the same thing the other day. My ultra hdmi I ordered off of Amazon and it unlocked so much. Hdmi-arc sounds fucking amazing. And you can definitely tell the graphics are better as well
