This was so great to watch. As an RN I like to appreciate the medical perspective of patient management especially in clinical deterioration. Love that you're an Australian channel, too! I sometimes find non-Australian resources unhelpful at times as they often operate with different guidelines.

Wondering what peoples thoughts are on contraindications for NPA regarding basal skull #? It’s something many people mention but it seems to have arisen from a small number of case reports unless I have missed something. I also came across a suggestion these case reports were potentially just cut down ETTs. I consider (mainly within a prehospital environment) if I’m struggling with airway I would use an NP even if concerns over basal skull #.

I always forget what the 4 H's are because each H just stands for hyper / hypo something.
In the middle of a code my lizard brain has zero chance of remembering the 4 H's
The mnemonic "VOTE 4 Mr. T" tells you what the thing is that's hyper / hypo:
Volume (hypovolaemia)
Oxygen (hypoxia)
Temperature (hyper / hypo thermia)
Electrolytes (K, Na and Glucose - using some poetic licence with electrolytes here)
And then the 4 T's as per usual
Pity the fool who forgets to VOTE 4 Mr. T!
really love this comment! I think its really annoying when a memory aid, isnt that effective. I think VOTE is fantastic. we should be able to come up with a similar one for the 4Ts.
ABCDE in the hospital is essential. C-ABCDE if in a combat environment. Always carry a tourniquet or a belt with you.
