Appears when the industrial estate was developed, the electrical pylon and wires not fully considered, would be very difficult to develop the green space. Junction 4 Pallets incorporated 2006 at the production location but limited space. Suspect they got a good deal on the parcel and created the pallet yard on Durham Lane. Having worked in T&D many years ago I am guessing they would not want you to see how many blue CHEP pallets they have. These pallets belong to CHEP and are worth a lot of money per pallet. The pallets are signed for on a delivery say 24 standard sized 1200/1000 pallets per load you sign for what is on the pallet and also the pallet itself. You will get 24 tickets for the pallets alone when a huge company have signed for many thousands of them thats where companies like this can make a fortune. CHEP will charge for any lost pallets/tickets and its expensive. Companies will buy pallets from companies like this one on the cheap to save them the cost of what CHEP will charge them for actual pallets and trust me its a fortune. There is a fortune in pallets and drivers sell them as a bit of a backhander for themselves. There is a reason the boss drives a Porsche 911 as his daily!!!

I totally agree with your points about signage, however if it was a public road then they would not be allowed to gate it. The gate was prima facie evidence that the road was private, so you were starting the confrontation on slim grounds.
It was strange that Google car was able to go in. Maybe street view will show the gates?

    “I’ll smash that”
“I’ll knock you out” blah blah blah
People who are going to do something generally don’t tell you they are going to, it’s done in anger and not thinking about it by the time they announce it, think about it… they usually decide it’s a bad idea and they haven’t got the balls.

There is nothing like the joy of being confrontational, purely for the sake of being confrontational, as many of the "fan" comments testify.
The public interest is not served and anyone with any imagination would know that a responsible company would not treat a public highway in the same way that they would their own private property - otherwise the local council would have served notice on that company long before you wandered through their gates, there may be health and safety issues, but that was NOT the issue here.
There is little point in employing a David Niven clone in that place, the bearded man was NOT a thug, he did not display the panache that an Oxbridge graduate would possess, but, after all, he was a supervisor on company premises defending the right of his employers to ask you to leave their PRIVATE property, in short, he was doing his job; you had no right to be there so he did the right thing, he contacted his boss who very quickly and beautifully politely, left you with scrambled egg all over your face.
As many videos will show, there are far too many of these "I have a camera it is my right to film and push the boundaries as far as they can be pushed" people who, in order to supply UA-cam audience with what the "cameraman" is sure he will get more and more hits; because, let's face it, we all like to see 'authority' given a bloody nose by the crusading man with a drone while he drones on about his rights to be a damn nuisance.

I wouldn't use google maps as your evidence. There have been many instances of google maps filming private roads, they use local drivers with a list of streets to drive, they are not actually looking at the local land boundaries, although it is for the company to contact google and have the street removed now they know it's on there. You gave them some good advice regarding signage and now they can take it off google maps, but it really would be good to check properly first. Overall a good set of lads under the circumstances, I can understand the lad in charge of the yard getting stressed due to safety concerns on site and potential insurance claims. Hope they get the signage sorted out, just the company name, with customer access only would be good.

    • @bpvisits

we live and learn, im still pretty new to this and was under the impression that the google car would not go down private roads, I now know better! I am using "findmystreet" to check the roads as well now. If he was so concerned about safety, then 1. why were all those pallets behind me stacked so high? 2. why was that broken pallet with the nails sticking up dangerously just left there?, 3. I didnt see any signs of fire extinguishers, 4. one of the guys who worked there didnt have any high-vis on! and 5. you were happy for him to swear, threaten and call a member of the public the names he did?...not very safety conscience or professional at all in my eyes!

    • @danielgardecki1046
      @danielgardecki1046 Рік тому +1

I doubt Google will remove it.
There's a "private road" category for a reason.
A few years ago I added a completely open-ended, private road which runs in between two large buildings, which I suspect are former mills.
I suspect anyone can walk, or even drive down that private road with no issues, as there's no gates, plus there's nothing to see down there anyway, however you can't park there, as the private parking/permit holders signage is very very clear.
Why did I add that road?
I added it because it's appeared in at least 2 or 3 films, at least 2 of 3 TV shows, and at least 2 or 3 music videos.
I can't remember what most of those productions are, and would no doubt take ages looking through local productions to jog my memory, but even if it wasn't used in productions, and even if it was clearly gated, I'd still add it if roads/walkways could clearly be seen.
In the last 6-9 months (for the first time since late 2016) I must have submitted 10s of 1000s of roads/walkways, and had 100s accepted, as you rarely get notified when they've been accepted or declined, and most of my additions seem to be pending forever.
Although in the last month, I've noticed that if I add just a few roads/walkways/car parks at a time, rather than 100s of roads/walkways in 1 submission, they get accepted quicker.
Where do I add most of my roads/walkways?
In public parks where there's 1000s of walkways missing from the 8+ large parks within 2 or 3 miles of my house, never mind the missing walkways in small community parks, or the other parks in the rest of the 141 square miles of the city.
