What a month for Holmes
I hate that negative press is what made me pay him attention but Giddy is niiiiiice! As far as Chet goes, this is no surprise to me. If Chet remains healthy and continues to progress, he will be a legit MVP candidate in 2-3 years.

He is is such a good baller but what i like most about him is his attitude on the field. Never complain, never hesitate to retun to the defensive position, everytime boxing out, trying to block every shot. I´ve rarely seen such maturity in such a young player.
His recovery is immaculate.

In all statistical categories Wemby leads Holmgren but chets team is winning that is the only difference. Roster wise chet has more good teammates and a superstar in SGA compare to wemby. Its close but i give my vote to wemby cause he lead all the stats. The award ROY is for the rookie who stands out among their fellow rookies. Remember the 03-04 draft although melo and wade made the playoffs, especially wade who took the heat to the 2nd round and still they gave it to LeBron cause he made the franchise relevant, increase merchandise, game attendance and TV broadcast. Just like wemby he made the spurs relevant again and he is performing stats wise cause they cant get a W and i dont see the spurs making the playoffs cause for sure they will try to draft another top 5 pg in the upcoming draft. This is just my personal take both of them deserve it.

o wow it really shows how people can change the entire narrative by playing with words.
The problem isn't Chet has better efficiency, it is Wemby has TERRIBLE efficiency. His offensive rating is at 97 right now, that's Jordan Poole level of bad.
At the current state, Chet is the better player by a wide margin. Whether things can change later in the season will be up to them.
Terrible? It's not great, but not terrible either. I mean, Wemby has a better FG% than Damian Lillard this season. But nobody is on Dame's ass at all like they are a 19 year old rookie. And Chet has had worse shooting efficiency in his last 4 games compared to Wemby. If we want to talk about bad efficiency, Chet is a super inefficient rebounder for his size. It goes both ways. There is a lot more to a player than offensive efficiency.
box score only i see? where do you see better defense, cause if you ever checked advance stats on defense, chet is top 5 wemby is 30th in most. if steal and blocks is all it counts towards defense then serge ibaka would win 2011-2012 DPOY since he averaged 3.7 blocks, too bad it was tyson chandler with 1.4 blocks, guess you would cry about it too.
this year chet is top 3 in contested shot at 240, wemby got 140 ranked around 35th. How the fk you playing defense if you don't contest. just because averaging less than 1 block a game?

Great piece for the Thunder. Definitely benefitting from the team he’s playing around, allowing him to take what the game gives him without having to force anything or take over games himself.
Still doesn’t compare to the ROTY which will be Wemby for sure, but Chet doesn’t have to be some future MVP for him to still be a highly valuable piece.
