Couldn't agree more! The cars and people make these events what they are. And I'm glad the big man upstairs approved our request for good weather too! 😆
Does any one of your viewers know what happened to the car I loved the most and kept it the longest? It was a Mk2 Sirocco 1.8 GTX Reg= B64 CHJ. Its last known address was Bexhill on Sea.
I'm not sure personally. How long ago was it in your ownership? Just looking, it doesn't look as though it's been on the road since at least year 2000. So I fear the worst, unfortunately.
@@golfmk2 Roughly 6 years (91 to 97). Unfortunately it had been clocked when I brought it. It was around a 1000 miles when a clear screw driver mark appeared on the 1000 miles digit. But that did not deter me. Its water pump, alternator and the head gasket went. But I got these repaired, As well as the second gear synchro mesh and cv boots. So some one actually got a half decent car when I sold it. I remember it was unstoppable. I was flagged down by a Suzuki Vitara owner once, who had just driven through a flood and broken down. He shouted at me to stop, as he thought I wouldn't make it. Red rage too a bull. I drove into the flood with a huge bow wave. I stopped along side him waved and drove off. Of course testing the brakes after. She was like a submarine. Oh happy days. I currently drive a company car which is a Ford Escape. I hate it. I hate fly by wires and buttons/dials for the gears and handbrake. I have no confidence in the car. And worst of all it keeps telling me I am about to crash when there is nothing in front of me. Give me a Sirocco any day.
@petergearing4796 sounds like an awesome little car whilst you had it. Unfortunately the owner after you may have not looked after it so well and it fell into disrepair. Shame. Modern cars are fine for their mod cons and comfort, for sure. But a lot of the driver 'aids' I find are driver hindering.
You had great weather for the cruise. Some lovely looking cars taking part.
We did book the nice weather, so would have made a complaint had it been poor! 😆
The cars were beautiful and of an exceptional standard. A great day.
Brilliant day out with likeminded golf enthusiasts 👌🏻

Fantastic! - some truly beautiful cars there 😎 on what looks to have been a lovely day. Nice to see a Mk3 Anni still around 👍
The cars were excellent, the day was superb. You may have noticed the rear shots of the 16v being driven like it should!

It really was the best day, with the best bunch of people and the best cars for such an epic cruise. 👌

What's in store for the blue Mk2 this year?
@@ABF16V 2025 championship and hopefully autosport show stand.
@carlbarton772 were you changing the engine to something different?
@@ABF16V staying bin my class for this year trying to win the class before stepping up. Came 2nd in 2023.
40 to 50 yo cops will be secretly loving this😊
I'd like to think so too! Maybe once having been an officer behind the wheel of a Sapphire Cossie back in the day.
