I did that same drive in 2000 i had a 1989 vw 16v gti that thing was a beast. And my car was loaded with stuff included my mother and brother, the car pulled like i was alone in it.
awesome, yeah mine cruise comfortably at 80mph @3200k rpm....good enough to keep up with all the modern cars.

What do u mean blowing?
@@CorradoRacerleaking possibly at a joint in the exhaust system or manifold gasket. produces muffled "fart" type sound.
Why did hé sell that car?
bc I was the right guy who can keep it alive and on the road. he has few toys as well already!
