Nice trailblazer ss I'm about to swap my trailblazer lt engine with an ss 6.0 I'm going to put a stage 3 comp cam long tube headers cold air intake flowmaster super 10 and a flash pak tune on it
gonna be buying a tbss next year, how many miles do you recommend I look for? And are they reliable? I used to have a regular trailblazer couple years ago and it was a good car (v6)
Being that the TBSS is around 12 yrs old it's going to be hard to find one with less than 100k miles. The LS2 motors are a great engine, but have oil starvation issues due to the pick up tube in the front of the oil pan. Rebuilding the motor or dropping in a new crate motor would be something to consider if you here any unusual ticking sounds as it could be a spun rod bearing. The stock 4L70E transmissions are good for stock power but anything higher and they can't hold up. Best to look into a rebuilt 4L70E trans from one of the reputable transmission companies (Phoenix Transmissions, RPM, Trans builder Guy, etc). Otherwise the TBSS will be similar in reliability to your I6 trailblazer with similar quirks.
I have a custom cam from Lt1z / GP Tuning. Hit them up at gpxtuning@gmail.com . And the valve springs, pushrods, timing gear/chain are from Brian Tooley Racing.
One of the coolest cars ever made

where did you get this cam? i’ve been looking for one for awhile now and can’t find any at all
Hit up Matt from @GPTuning on IG or FB. He's well known with the LS community and I've gotten all of my cams from him.
@@scotttrujillo6649 thank you! i will definitely do that
Street tuned with HPTuners
Did you replace the springs ? Or just cam?
The cam, 3 bolt cam gear, dual springs, retainers, push rods and trunion kit. It was a BTR kit I got from PCMofNC.
You in Fort Worth?
What numbers are you putting down?
Went 13.3 @ 103 on street tires
Does this setup still pass an emissions test?
Texas doesn't have emissions sniffer testing, but it passes their yearly safety checks.
Where did you find the corsa muffler? I can't find just the muffler for sale
I got Corsa cat back system. I don't think Corsa sells the Muffler alone.
What pushrod length did you , and spring kit?
7.4" pushrods and comp cams dual springs.
tuned? hp#s?
How much horsepower are u putting down
I never got it dyno'd with this setup, but it should have made around 430 to the tire.
That's awesome I'm super excited to start my build
Do you have cats?
Yes catted Kooks LTs
What’s your mpg lol
15 mpg, not horrible
1/4 mile times?
13.3 @ 103mph on street tires.
What cam kit did you use?
I have a custom cam from Lt1z / GP Tuning. Hit them up at gpxtuning@gmail.com . And the valve springs, pushrods, timing gear/chain are from Brian Tooley Racing.
How much did this set up run
Around $4k with headers, catback, lt1z cam, cam kit, injectors and tuning.
1 7/8 or 1 3/4?
1 3/4" kooks catted headers.
You running a built trans or stock?
disel2301 are you serious man ?
what kinda of power you making
Never dynoed so not really sure. It should be in the 430-450 crank hp. Would be more if I had ported heads and a FAST LSXRT intake.
Scott Trujillo what would it take to get 500hp?
@@bsqueeze19 A very large cam and E85. Or can do it easier with Magnuson supercharger.
Big cam, worked heads, and ported fast 102 with longtubes should see 500 to the crank on 93
@@swappedoutZ71 port the stock heads with that same cam and a decent tune on 93 pump and boom 500 crank
