As I sit here at work on a Saturday evening covering shift for someone, this video gives me a great big smile, and some excellent ideas for my upcoming furlough week. Awesome video. I had a blast just watching you guys having fun. I'm gonna take one of my fly rods with me on my bikepacking trip. And I agree, catching fish IS part of it. Thanks for sharing.
This is so rad and those are some beauties you guys caught! I would love some more content on this topic. Things like: how to pack the rod best, collapsable net, packing fly fishing gear (bags, flies, tippet, etc.), and the whole process in general. I can't wait to start doing this very soon and thanks for the great video!
It's a so.... Relaxed video.... Your team are absolutely great. I'm sure your team will win the catching fish championship 2021. What you didn't know, the most fish made a bike adventure travel at this day. 🐟🚲 Thanks for that video, markus Greetings from switzerland
Each of these bike fishing videos makes me hate living in Illinois a bit more. Thanks Russ! Keep them coming and maybe someday I can convince my wife on moving west.
Bike-fishing mirrors the gravel experience...it varies with each region. We deal with different weather, road conditions and terrain here in hilly, but not mountainous Missouri. And accordingly, our stream fishing centers on smallmouth bass and bluegill and crappie. Most of our gravel roads ford streams and creeks on either concrete slabs or "low water" bridges. If the fish aren't biting, these clear, shallow gradient streams are perfect for wading or a refreshing dip. Keen water shoes with a solid toe are great!
Thats a sweet Westslope Cutthroat you caught there Russ. I noticed your dry fly was the size of an aircraft carrier. Nice ride, great fishing with those you love, doesn't get better than this.
Love bike fishing....but there is no way I would ride with my rod sticking out in front of me like a jousting Knight . A crash would be a very expensive issue. Lately Ive been Tenkara fishing with the bike vers. Fly Fishing, Western style. Nice looking fish....Cutty's. What river? Thanks for taking us along ....
Great video, fabulous footage. You guys looks to be having a ton of fun and that’s what it’s all about. Tip of the hat to your black crocs. When you did your “Casual Bike Wear” video I admitted I cycled in Crocs, said without shame. I am glad you a representing the non-fad side of footwear.
Beauty trout! Great way to fish but carrying the long rods like that would not fly for me (excuse the pun). Like the portable stuff. Fishing and hunting by bike is such a great experience.
Russ! Are the Tumbleweeds still going? Looking forward to a new video with you and them!! You remind me of knights of old with their lances getting ready to charge!
Best way to bike fish is the orvis frequent flyer... I used in when living in Alaska you can bring it in the case with you if you have to go through brush not to bend the pole... The broken down like fits under my disc trucker top tube...
Question about leaving bikes on the side of a road/trail - how do you lock them up? I live in a city that make's me nervous to leave a bike at the side of a trail unlocked, so wondering what system you use. Or do you just leave them in the bush and hope nobody will steal them?
Does catch-and-release work better with fly fishing? Seems like the fly hooks wouldn't be as likely as a normal lure to critically injure the fish. I'm just thinking about how often I caught fish that I'd have to let go of, for one reason or another, that clearly weren't going to survive.
Bluecollar Backcountry I actually really appreciate that Russ doesn’t name the places often. I’ve seen my places in a Utah become so popular so quick, it’s nice to keep them clean.
My pessimistic side tells me that the anti racer (unracer) cyclist gear folks have narrowed things down to a rigid cyclist gear list with checklist items on a clipboard, and huge dollar signs. I'll be the one in walmart croks.
Path Less Pedaled As I have said before, ride whatever works for you. If I lived in Montana, I would be riding different stuff than I’m riding now. And I would relish avoiding days like today with heat indices above 100.
Looks like a great time, Russ! I love how you include bikes in other outdoor stuff. Chapeau
I totally don't fish but man this vid makes me wanna start!
@bob Tilton Start. Check out tenkara fly fishing. Rods collapse gear cost is about the same as a set of tires. Casting is easy to learn
Your bikefishing videos are definitely my favorite content on the interwebs! Keep up the great work!

Great video Russ!!! I love it. “adventure cycling “ in a nutshell. Thanks for sharing.
It's a so.... Relaxed video.... Your team are absolutely great.

What you didn't know, the most fish made a bike adventure travel at this day. 🐟🚲
Thanks for that video, markus
Greetings from switzerland
love these videos, even better when Daniel joins
What a caravan of bikes and rods. Looked like a really good time and a massive fashion show. Take care and stay safe, Al
This is the pinnacle of gravel cycling! I haven't fished in too long. That's going to change! Thanks for the inspiration!
Very nice. Looked like a lot of fun.
I like how you mix fly dishing and cycling, keep doing what you’re doing man
Great day, great resource! That looks amazing from Southern California where most of us are kind hunkering down.
Cool video... and congratulations for the fishing success!!!
Very nice. Made me smile!
Great vibe from this ride.. nice work PLP
I think your ride/adventure videos are the best.
It looks like it was a beautiful day. I'm glad you all caught fish. 😊🎣👍
Great job, great vid and NICE FISH!! 👍
Thanks for the virtual fishing trip!
Love these videos
What an intro! Had me pressing the like button within first 5 seconds! :D
That was rad! Great video!
Great video with beautiful scenery. For me, this is what gravel bikes are for. And it's not all about the fish but they're always a welcome bonus.
Beautiful scenery, nice riding and casting. Ride & Fish On.
Brilliant Video Russ, can't wait for summer riding in my bedrocks in Zealand.
Great day awesome and you had the catch where vehicles don’t go 👏👏👏👏🚴🚴🚴🚴
Beautiful! Nice Trip..
a spark of joy!
Each of these bike fishing videos makes me hate living in Illinois a bit more. Thanks Russ! Keep them coming and maybe someday I can convince my wife on moving west.
We def need more bikefishing vids!!
"You're like your own parade." Something to aspire to.
That looks like a great day
Frigging toad you landed there! Awesome video
Nice video, Russ.

You all are my heroes
Montana and big water without crowds. Really nice day on bikes. I love my toesis’ too much for Bedrocking it.
Wow, what a fantastic way to spend a day! And I don't even fish!
That river & valley look like they have a rather, uh, sour source 😉
Beauty river man. Looking like my home stomp up in BC.
I have heard that Montana has more blue ribbon fishing streams then just about anywhere else. ?
Got the money shot. Congrats!
Repping the PorcelainRocket! Love it, made just a few miles north of Montana. Supporting local businesses if Calgary wasn’t in Canada.
They are my favorite!

BahAHA!

It’s slightly risky but everyone managed to not snap a rod on this trip.
MORE BIKEFISHING PLEASE!
Cool ideas I can apply here. New friend here
Awesome
I have zero interest in fishing and this was a fantastic video. Super fun content.
9:55 that's a beaut Russ!
Nice bikes, great friends, beautiful scenery and you caught some fish. Does it really get any better?
Great video, fabulous footage. You guys looks to be having a ton of fun and that’s what it’s all about. Tip of the hat to your black crocs. When you did your “Casual Bike Wear” video I admitted I cycled in Crocs, said without shame. I am glad you a representing the non-fad side of footwear.
Love this video! What a cool way to go fly fishing!
Summer time and the ride’n is easy
What a great video! Thanks! Definitely loved that one. What's the P&S camera on the PD strap?
Inquiring minds want to know which camera you take fishing!
Cool
Beauty trout! Great way to fish but carrying the long rods like that would not fly for me (excuse the pun). Like the portable stuff. Fishing and hunting by bike is such a great experience.
Great vid! Which rear mudguard is that on Laura's bike? Thanks
You got to review that rear rack! Where can i get myself some?
Nice fish.
All 4 fish, fish for all!
❤️ From IND
Russ! Are the Tumbleweeds still going? Looking forward to a new video with you and them!! You remind me of knights of old with their lances getting ready to charge!
Hey there! Would you mind sharing the brand of your insulated handlebar bag?
Thanks!
Best way to bike fish is the orvis frequent flyer... I used in when living in Alaska you can bring it in the case with you if you have to go through brush not to bend the pole... The broken down like fits under my disc trucker top tube...
I dunno. That Reyr was pretty handy.
Great vid! I was wondering if you have a collapsable fly rod recommendation for a newbie. I'm looking to add fishing to my bike adventures, thanks!
We’ve got a ton of videos on tenkara and Reyr rod.
I see we were all wearing very supple helmets Russ :.)
you should check out ECHO fly rods they make an 8 piece 6 or 8wt perfect for travel. I use mine for bike fishing all the time. Awsome video!!
If they made steel cap safety crocs I’d wear them to work! . Croc life

Russ, where do you get your awesome music? Is there a supplelife soundtrack in the works?
What is the name of the saddle rack you are using. Can you please post a link.
Fantastic! Have you guys had any luck with tenkara rods and flies?
I’ve got a Tenkara rod as well, it’s fun!
Does catch-and-release work better with fly fishing? Seems like the fly hooks wouldn't be as likely as a normal lure to critically injure the fish. I'm just thinking about how often I caught fish that I'd have to let go of, for one reason or another, that clearly weren't going to survive.
I think so. I crush the barbs on all the flies I tie.
You should try “Bike Trolling” ;) trolling from a bike!
Hey what is Laura's WI crankset chainring size and is that a road or mnt crankset? Love you guys, great vid!
46-30. Road.
Can you share the brand/link to the insulated handlebar bag?
getstashers.com/
Ya'll look like a buncha Unicorns!
I’m literally traveling through Missoula tomorrow (7/7) and would love to find a great fly fishing shop for a shirt and rod. Any recs?
Grizzly Hackle in downtown or the Missoulian.
Path Less Pedaled thanks!
Hey Russ, who makes your frame bag?
Rogue Panda.
Wow wisk i could be there
No mudguards allowed though. Sound attracts bears.
beautiful ride, reminds me of red dead redemption 2 lol
So who makes that insulated top tube bag?!?
Stashers.
What is the name of the rack at 1:59?
Erlen rack by Ocean Air Cycles
Hey, why does it have to be an un-named creek? Come on now! Hahahaha that's ok, I'm in Texas anyway. We have to keep our secrets
Bluecollar Backcountry I actually really appreciate that Russ doesn’t name the places often. I’ve seen my places in a Utah become so popular so quick, it’s nice to keep them clean.
love the vids, but it's now become a come for the tunes stay for the content situation....so damn good :) just kiddin
Can I get a link or the name of the fishing pole at 6:01
Reyr.
whats the name of the trailhead?
Tenkara rods would fit in your top tube bag
We didn’t have tenkara rods on this trip.
I also have a tenkara rod, great for small rivers and carrying on bikes
New watch? what is that? :)
Had it for a while but a Citizen Promaster Diver.
@@PathLessPedaledTV niiice!
Margot who makes your hat?!
It’s from Pendleton I believe
Where ur mudguards?
Burnt them in a sacrificial pyre to the rain gods.
Wait...you guys don't take the fish home and eat it?
Can’t keep cutthroat.
Some fish better alive than dead
Where were the bears? You said there would be bears..
I said we were fishing in bear country. Thats why everyone is strapped with bear spray.
Your success ratio is why it's called fishing, not catching.
My pessimistic side tells me that the anti racer (unracer) cyclist gear folks have narrowed things down to a rigid cyclist gear list with checklist items on a clipboard, and huge dollar signs. I'll be the one in walmart croks.
There was some hard core hipster action in that video.
WTF does hipster even mean? This is how we’ve been riding bikes for over 15 years.
Path Less Pedaled As I have said before, ride whatever works for you. If I lived in Montana, I would be riding different stuff than I’m riding now. And I would relish avoiding days like today with heat indices above 100.
