I studied piano with Aldo Ciccolini for many years here in Italy. I therefore say quite clearly that he was a great man, a passionate teacher and one of the greatest pianists of all time.

Aldo Ciccolini n'était pas seulement un pianiste formidable, d'une sensibilité profonde, mais aussi un pédagogue incroyable. Il avait à cœur d'enseigner. J'ai eu la chance et l'honneur de jouer chez lui en 1978 (Villa-Lobos).
Ciccolini è stato un grandissimo pianista. Un repertorio immenso, un tocco bellissimo ed una enorme musicalità.

I absolutely adore this piece of music. I can play parts of it, It is my most favorite piece of music ever written. 44:00, 50:13, 51:20 - 52:33, 55:14, 57:10,59:44 - 1:00:42 . I like how his playing is clear and concise.

Oui bien sûr!! D'ailleurs, le pianiste n'écoute que lui-même. L'orchestre suit le piano, pas le chef d'orchestre...
Dieser wunderbarePianist liess sich leider von der konventionellen und falschen Auffassung des Werks verleiten, nicht genau zu überlegen, was eigentlich Tempo und Werkcharakter aus dem Originaltext zu entnehmen wären.
