  • Life is about action as well as contemplation. In Amherst Media's series "Journeys into Being," Renata Sylvia Pienkawa of Amherst MA, the host, and co-producer with Amherst Media, explores how various people find their "flow" in life through their presence, self-expression, and being, not merely through striving, building, and doing. Today's guests, Hugh and Jeanne Joudry are well-known Vermont artists. However, besides creating their captivating sculptures and paintings, for over half a century, for about six months out of the year, Hugh and Jeanne Joudry lived as fire lookouts on top of Vermont's Stratton Mountain in a small cabin. For over 53 years, they were also famous as trail greeters for the Appalachian Trail and other trails. Always connected to both art and nature, as well as to each other, they share in this interview their life story as well as their deep wisdom. The interview is both laid back and filled with gems of insight and laughter.
