They really kicked some ass! A level of musicianship you rarely if ever see today. The standard was much higher then. Before mediocrity overtook the world. Thanks for the upload.
You are wrong! Venezuela did it too! A couple of nights were enough to probe it! I was there at both. Actually, they recorded a couple of their songs here for one of their live albums! Thanks guys! I am 61 and still listen to their wonderful music! Danke Canada!
Great! They played so well together, everything sounds better than today, Negus was brilliant and Jim Crichton much more alive and present. Saw them in Aarhus, denmark 3 times in a row, and the first 2 was magic.
Wow... I had NO idea that Frank Zappa sat in on vox for Saga! J/K... what a great tune. Really brings me back to the heyday of rock/prog rock. Canadians RULE the prog rock realm! (I'm not from Canada, but Saga, Rush, and Triumph were my favorite bands back in the day... STILL ARE!!! Add to that the band The Mystery as well.)
Ian Crichton. My word, what a player. But that said, the whole band was absolutely amazing at that time. I grew up with this very concert, and sound wise haven't seen anything better with them since.
War eine absolut geile Zeit . Muß dazu sagen , bin Berlner. Olla , egal wann , du konntest immer feiern gehen . Party machen . Muß sagen , mitte der 70 er war für mich geiler .
Sadler had an incredible voice! I still think their first album was their best (still listen to it all the time). Why isn't it on YT? I dunno how to put it up. Great concert vid tho!
i like this song because it has a lot of synthesizer / electric keyboards in it . it is my favorite instrument . doo ; doodle-doo dee-doo , doodlee-doo , doo
I've come to the conclusion that it's really been Bill Bruford, David Robinson (of The Cars) and Steve Negus pushing electronic percussion from its early beginning into the mainstream. I know Neil Peart went electronic big time post Signals Rush, and I include him in this, but really, aside from Carl Palmer of ELP for a brief spell, Robinson, Negus, and Bruford are really emphasising electronics in their material. And it sounds good. Not like an Atari game.
I don't have a prostate but swear I first heard --& was floored by-- their first album just a little while ago! DAMN Sadler had an incredible voice, didn't he?!
They were more popular in Canada than many realize. But their following in Germany was outstanding for sure. I remember when they first came out with Worlds Apart, everybody in town was scrambling for a copy after I was the first one to buy it.
Unfortunately music is no longer like this it has turned way to corporate into rap. Now anybody can record anything they want even if they can't sing just rap
This must be what I saw (excerpts) on the show "In Concert" on ABC late nites on Saturdays in 1981 after the album debuted. And always wanted to see this tour version of "A Brief Case" which was uploaded also, for awhile I was thinking I imagined it wrong :p. I'm still following Saga after all these years, and Michael still has that vocal register! Amazing :D.
Ian Crichton is such an underrated Guitarist, he has a style all his own!
The most under rated band in the world. Germany knew what the rest of the world didn't.
For sure!!!
One of my favorite groups since Calgary with Procol Harum

Einfach Wahnsinn.. Top
UNDERRATED BAND.......... SUPERB MUSICIANSHIP. PERIOD.
Saga a un gros défaut : 40 ans après, on ne se lasse pas de leurs meilleures chansons. Wind him up est une redecouverte à chaque version live.
T vraiment sûr que ce soit un défaut 😉👍
Moi aussi g t fan il y a 40 ans et vu deux fois en concert France et Allemagne 84 et 85✌️
Steve Negus is a phenomenal drummer!
Excellent video quality to match the phenomenal quality of musicians onstage. 🙌🏼
They really kicked some ass! A level of musicianship you rarely if ever see today. The standard was much higher then. Before mediocrity overtook the world. Thanks for the upload.

Couldn't have been said better!
Dezember 1981. Ich war dabei und bin bei ihnen geblieben.
Was sagt die Frauenstimme, wenn der Sänger nicht singt? Ich schau mir das Video jetzt zum - geschätzt - 1000. mal an - versteh es nicht

Mustaches and smoking in a crowded theater...those were the days!!
Ian Crichton. My word, what a player. But that said, the whole band was absolutely amazing at that time.
I grew up with this very concert, and sound wise haven't seen anything better with them since.
Among many, it's one of my favorite songs from that era.
Phenomenal!!!!...never get tired of these guys!!
Woow... What a memories🎶❤👍.
I was there!
Looks like a GREAT show !! Where are you from ?

so them in London Ontario about 1984-85....they were great
Saga 1981 - Wind Him Up - Westfalenhalle Dortmund. Esta es la grabación del concierto que convirtió a SAGA en un supergrupo instantáneo en Europa.
Sadler had an incredible voice! I still think their first album was their best (still listen to it all the time). Why isn't it on YT? I dunno how to put it up. Great concert vid tho!
one of my alltime favourites
Thank you so much for this high quality upload :). Great to see that it really was as good as i remember it
Simmons SDS V Drums ... so good!
Yes, the SDSV still the king of analog electronic drums, I still got mine also in white color.
❤😊
I saw them in Kiel (Germany)! Soooooooo long ago :-)
Super 😊😊😊
i like this song because it has a lot of synthesizer / electric keyboards in it . it is my favorite instrument . doo ; doodle-doo dee-doo , doodlee-doo , doo

When did the mustache leave the band ?
1981 wtf can someone tell me what happened this song was releases like yesterday when I was 13 now I need my prostate checked god help us
I don't have a prostate but swear I first heard --& was floored by-- their first album just a little while ago! DAMN Sadler had an incredible voice, didn't he?!
they were very big in Germany , not so in their homeland of Canada!
They were more popular in Canada than many realize. But their following in Germany was outstanding for sure.
I remember when they first came out with Worlds Apart, everybody in town was scrambling for a copy after I was the first one to buy it.
Big with this Canadian!
Also huge in Puerto Rico too.
That mustache though..
Unfortunately music is no longer like this it has turned way to corporate into rap. Now anybody can record anything they want even if they can't sing just rap
I wonder how long it takes the singer to grow that soup strainer?
Like an hour
I just thought: how would this song sound like, if they used the "real" drums instead of the electronic drum kit?
Quick… Somebody help that man… There’s something attacking his face… Oh crap that’s his stash! Could’ve swore I saw that thing move!!
No idle hands in this band/ the lead singer jumps on a keyboard !!!###
I always thought they wear canadian, surprise.surprise
They are canadians
He looks bigger in weight here. Did he gain weight?
Very repetitive sound
