@@booksofazwei What is this vibe? it's very caramel ish. idk how to explain it. it's not just circus clowns, it's very... jestery? but in an early 2000s hallmark movie kinda way. idk man, scared to show my homies this shit. feels girly girl. Magical night, romance in the dance hall, magicians and shit. i've never read this book, but this playlist seems to capture that exact feel im looking for. "The circus arrives without warning" "You are no longer quite certain which side of the fence is the dream" I started crying so hard, we finished walking away of it, as we were in the circus by reading it. As what Friedrick said, we can dream back to the circus by reading about it...
@hi-im-kc As you said, it is an opinion, and we all have one. Like many, my first experience with Alice in Wonderland was the 1951 Walt Disney animated movie. The Tim Burton interpretation is unusual as it deals much with the backstory of certain characters, namely the Mad Hatter. It was an interesting take on the story, but did it ruin it? I don't think so. It's entertainment!

I don't really know what I expected from this book when I read it several years ago. I enjoyed it, but I can't really remember what happened. I do recall that it didn't have as much of a plot as I wanted it to, and it came across as more of "unique slice of life with an air of mystery." I wasn't disappointed, just the story path took odd turns, which is strangely fitting for everything that it was.
I just finished my script it's called a night circus. it about a young girl goes to a carnival late at night and the clowns come alive and they try to get her to help them escape. this song made me in the mood to write. :
I loved this book. I read it in 2012 on vacation while recovering from surgery and couldn't go swimming. This book made my vacation so much better. Erin Morgenstern is a brilliant writer. Her second book, The Starless Sea, is pretty cool too; very mystical. I wish they would make a movie out of Night Circus and Starless Sea, but I'm unsure of Ms Morgenstern's wishes regarding adaptations of her novels. Still, would be cool to see the Night Circus come alive on the screen; would totally win special effects awards, and likely awards for a soundtrack. I think good composers for it would be Thomas Newman and Danny Elfman; they are pretty awesome composers. Nice list. It fits with the book's themes.
I'm in the part where the reveurs are described, them wearing black clothes with splashes of scarlet. I love this sm, they're so silly and happy with the Circus
I first read the Night Circus in my first year at College, then I read it again in my last College year. Really good book, solid story & characters, had a lot of ideas & concepts that you'd wish were real.
No way i actually recognize the second aong! I remember hearing it play in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children when she introduces Jake to all the peculiar children!

*And the girl who had never seen a carnival before was suddenly met with one appearing in the woods where she'd been told explicitly by her mother and father not to go, yet as she approached closer, she could smell the popcorn and cotton candy from all the way away, in her blind bliss, she decided to go to the carnival and see what lay in wait inside, upon entering she saw an empty showroom with two lions staring at her like the hungry predators they were, when suddenly, a Crack of a whip made the lions stand at attention & a minute later, a man appeared dressed in a red and black outfit and asked the girl "what is your name, sweetheart?" The girl was taken aback but responded "Clarissa, I didn't know there was a circus here-" the man then shushed her and said "Don't say another word, I'll show you the best circus act in the world~" he then cracked his whip again and the lions stood up on two feet like trained dogs and in came 3 more people, stuntmen and some clowns, one set down a bucket of popcorn and another, a stick of Cotton Candy, the show then began the lions did tricks and the acrobats did confounding tricks and twists all while circus music played after about 4 hours, the girl said "I need to leave" and got up to leave the tent when to her dismay, a 3rd lion stood guard over the door and the lion tamer said "You don't know do you? Once you enter the carnival of wonders, you may never leave!"*
