Mostly because there's a same style of player in Curry, who's just better. If Dame is the original long distance 3 shooter like Gilbert Arenas was, he would be super hyped, but because Curry is in his era and just does it on another level, he's always '2nd to something'.

the most encouraging part of this performance was that a lot of these shots were set up with dame off-ball whereas before whenever he'd have these performances it'd be because he had to create everything himself. hope this is sustainable for the blazers. dame deserves it

Portland had a 21 point lead going into the 4th plus Dame took a knee to the right thigh in the 3rd and had ice on it so no need to risk further injury just going for the record when they had the game in the bag. Dame said in the post game presser he was glad to be able to rest in the 4th. He was smart and cautious about it instead of letting his ego risk further injury.

Yep. They didn’t play tight enough defense. But dame also won’t hesitate to give up the ball and let Anfernee or Grant get on a roll. Timbs were playing harder defense on them but in return it gave dame some great looks.
Bruh, it seemed like no one was covering him because all the shot he took were from crazy deep. If the defense guards him too tight when he's out, he'll just blow right past them. In other words, when Dame is hitting from deep, there's nothing the defense can do short of trapping him at half court and hoping not to get burned on the ensuing 4v3
