As always, well done!!! Planning, lay out, execution. Could not be better. As for your advice on Customer Service, well, as a 45 year veteran of serviing Customers with Electronic Repair Needs, both field and shop, you are right on with Communication. That is the essence of Customer Service. I started in 1967 working the field, and had to stop and use a pay phone to communicate if problems arose. That was a hassle with 200 miles to drive and 10 customers to service. Now, with the advent of cell phones, communication has become so much easier and of greater importance. People understand if commuincated with. Love your philosophy!!! Since you "dropped the ball" a little, doing that free gratis was good and I know that Customer will be ready to purchase and pass the informaiton along to friends.....that is the goal!!! Be well, be safe, be Blessed!!!
Your so right Jim. The hardest part doing any artistic project like this, be it wood or metal, is making sure your on the same page with your customer. I'm curious what changes if any she makes. Have a great week! Be blessed 🙌
Very neat trick with the square never thought of cutting the tip off 😅
Thanks! 😊
I can't wait to see the follow up! Sometimes it's hard to please another person.
Thats the hardest part I find 👍
Nice work my friend. You are dead on with customer service. I have gotten several jobs recently because the contractor has ghosted them after initial contact. Communication is key! Have a good weekend!
And those customers will tell their friends how great your customer service was, which usually leads to more work! You have a great weekend as well!
Looks great. You’re right, say what you’re going to do and do what you say you’ll do.
Right on! 👊
Right or wrong word of mouth goes along way, great project Brandon 👍😁
Right on! It sure does! 👍
Looks good Brandon, hope it sells and you can film it installed or al least some photos. Thanks for sharing with us. Fred.
I'm hoping to do an install video too
Cool project! Can't wait to see the final if the customer goes for it.
You and me both! Fingers crossed!
Looks nice Brandon. Good business sense. 👍
Thanks man!
Good seed planted in fertile ground, gives good results with attendance!😁
Well.said David..I appreciate it! 🙏
Nice project Sir….. I always learn a lot from you. Have a great weekend my friend ✅

" many many year's "😂 you do a great job, your rite about being punctual, and keep in touch, they may be upset you haven't stuck to what you say,but if you don't keep them in the know, 😮 they will be pissed 😢 great little job, that saw certainly saves you time, and convenient, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Thanks man and so true! Have a great weekend brother!
Unless you are hampered in your region by competition, pricing should be labor rate, workshop equipment hire fee which should include a markup to cover replacement & earn you money on your capital invested (just like earning bank interest etc), material cost with markup.
Nice jo. I know its only a mock-up, but you have 8 slats on one side and 7 on the other. My guess is you ran short of material, or am I missing something?
I did run short on the 3/4 slats so I added the last 1" slat so they could get an idea of what it would look like in case they wanted a bolder look over the 3/4 slats.
I’d add a couple comments to the segment about costing. Obtaining materials involves time and/or labor, whether you’re traveling to a source to obtain it personally or ordering to have it shipped to you. There is also the cost associated with stocking and inventory. Those things all should be accounted for within your materials charge. I tack on 25% for materials to cover these expenses unless the materials are very large or numerous, in which case I decrease the amount. This is basic cost of doing business strategy - otherwise you will be losing money on jobs instead of actually making a profit. How much you tack on is really a personal choice, but can be calculated for more precisely if you choose to spend the time to record time and expenses involved in obtaining materials. What I DON’T do is overcharge like a lot of auto repair shops, sometimes marking up 100% or more. That’s just greed.
As for what to charge for your labor - that can be based on experience, quality of work and the market and competition in your area. I’m currently undercharging for my labor as a small engine mechanic because I’ve only been teaching myself this work for about 2.5 years. I’m gaining confidence and getting much better at diagnostics and expect to probably raise my rate at the 3-year mark and regularly after that. Whatever you do, don’t undervalue yourself or your work or you’ll burn out or be unhappy in your work because the financial reward doesn’t meet your expectations.
Spot on 👌 I add 15% to my material cost which covers exactly what you spoke about. I also have different labor rates depending on what im doing (mig, tig, stick, plasma and aluminum). Not accounting for incidentals are what get a lot of new business owners in trouble (insurance, wire, gasses, abrasives, consumables). These items quickly chew up profits over time if you haven't accounted for them.
I usually have my customer pay me upfront for materials, iron here is too expensive to get ahead. One wanted 3 tier steel table on wheels, for me build legs is $400.00 not counting shelves or wheels. It does get expensive.
It adds up quickly. Some steel has actually doubled from what I was paying 2-3 years ago. It's crazy.
Yes it does, it’s jaw dropping each time go get load. Geez
Would love to have that saw but I can't afford it
Its pretty nice Roger, but your right, it's pricy. If you dont need the ability to cut bigger stuff, it's pretty hard to beat this saw for $149 amzn.to/4cfeG7P I love it.
@@BrandonLund when I looked it up it showed 849
The one in the video is 849 but the saw in the link is 149 and an awesome saw if you don't need to make larger cuts beyond the 8 1/4" blade.
It does miters, and bevels actually lol so kinda better than the big one if you don't handle huge pieces. I'm looking at getting their 10" dual bevel sliding miter saw. Right now on Amazon for i think $340, didn't even know they made it🔥 @BrandonLund
I must have been having a brain fart lol. I had to go back and reread what I wrote lol. I've been eyeing that sliding bevel saw also. I'm sure its like all their stuff and built well
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👌🏼😎
Thanks man I appreciate it! I hope you have a great weekend! 👍
