Apple butter is essentially applesauce cooked down further and used more like a jam. Very good! Applesauce is great canned as well.

I love hearing your English words! 😀 I'm very impressed with your knitting, especially sweaters/jumpers!. I haven't done it for awhile, but I never broke out of doing hats and scarves. And then my cat started chewing holes in anything I knit... no matter what kind of yarn I used, even acrylic. And it was just things I knit, not store-bought hats. I have to hide anything I make very well!

I have always liked your content very much, but you picking up knitting and the whole trying new things (skilled girl)…I am here for it all the way. When I am having a bad day, or just a bad moment. I find that knitting or tidying (something that physically occupies my hands) really helps me feel better.

Speaking of motivation and bike rides, I bike way more than I would if I didn’t have a dog. I’m not really into exercising, but the fact that daily exercise isn’t optional for her really motivates me to get out of the house and move my body. I like riding my bike with her running beside me on a paved trail that goes along the river a few blocks from where we live. It’s very gratifying to see her smile when we get home (I know she’s panting, but it looks like she’s smiling and I know she’s happy)

Immy, your idea of random matches my idea of random🤣 I have so much love for popsicles, home-baked bread, fresh veggies, cycling, and knitting or making hand-made stuff. Immy, do you find that knitting is complex relaxation? I think knitting (and sewing) is the perfect blend of hands-on productivity based with chill time. Please keep calling it a “jumper” cuz it sounds so charming (way more charming than “sweater”). Update on the popsicles (if you feel so inclined) would be awesome!! Thanks for taking the time to chat with us. I am loving Vlogust and I enjoy and appreciate your scope on life. Ⓜary💕

Canning… it’s like summer saved up in a jar and stored away in your pantry for a rainy day. Some would say that everything is better in a mason jar. I just thought I would say that, despite having helped my Mom with canning as a child, I was quite nervous the first time I went solo. Some free unsolicited advice would be to read your book, follow the basic ‘canning rules’, and avoid winging it when you’re just starting out. You’ll be fine, Immy, and I just know you will love those glistening jars full of summer preserves!! PS - I love to hear what you have to say, I miss Ralphie too, and “Ice Lollies” is a great term… hang onto that one (and jumper too)?? Ⓜary💕🫙

Everyone thinks their "rambling" videos are not interesting...but I think they are the most interesting! They are natural, and I believe I see the creator's personality even more. I love your honesty about yourself and your life here in the United States. When you mentioned Cherry Creek State Park my ears perked up! In 1981 I visited my friend, who at the time was living in Aurora. She had to work, so I took a taxi to the state park...hung out there and rode a horse :) I love the beauty of Colorado.

Hi Immy, watching your videos for several years, but I'm not frequently commenting - sorry. I love canning and cooking jam and I did and do so together with my mum since I was a little kid. We usually canned our own fruit from the garden (tomatosauce, vegetable stew, whole cherries, bush beans) and fruit that we got from neighbours or friends. I hope that I can keep this hobby going later as well, as it takes up quite some space to store everything and not go to the grocery store and buy when you need it. My grandma was more into homemade liquor. Never tasted it, but I still have her Coffee Liquor in mind among some other things she did. With canning you're not only canning food, you're canning memories and create memories while doing so. Especially if you have a canning "buddy" 😉😂 xoxo from Germany Stephanie

@@marycharlebois6627 Dear Mary, thanks a lot for your kind words - really appreciate it. If you enjoy canning, you're really preserving memories - and so I do. I also love gifting homemade things to friends that I know they'll appreciate it. For them this is special as they did not grow up with that as something usual and they actually see the effort you've put into the gift. Additionally you know what's inside 😉 We are using fruit to sugar ratio 3:1 for our jam and not 1:1 or even worse as the big companies do. And we are getting creative with a splash of liquor that might fit to the fruit used. And though we use less sugar, the jam is good for years! 🤤 Maybe I can pass these experiences on to my future kids - I would love to do so. ❤️ xoxo Stephanie

Like you, we also gift a lot of our canning as gifts. It’s such an amazing feeling when folks really appreciate it. Today we blanched and froze all the broccoli from our garden. We also picked all our apples and crabapples because we live in the wilderness of northern 🇨🇦 and we have bears 🐻 who love apples. We are using our steamer-juicer to steam the apples and will be putting-up quart jars of apple juice which we will enjoy in the winter. Thanks for sharing your canning journey with me here in Immy’s comment section. Canning and preserving really are great ways to preserve healthy food, save money, and make amazing gifts and memories too. Happy canning, Ⓜary🥦🍎@@stephanieloffler8566
