This video just saved me from having to buy a new printer. The paper feeder had stopped loading paper, and using this video I gained confidence to remove the side panel and deduced that a teeter totter plastic white piece became dislodged and was able to fix in about 15 minutes! Thanks agian!
Hi Drik, do you have a photo of your repair? i think im having the same issue but i dont see the white peice. my printer is jamming constantly.... Thanks
Good video. my paper was jammed in the back, Take out the plastic roller and other plastic parts. now can't put it back. maybe this video will help. It helped and printing. I was looking for a new brother laser printers and looks like not many in the stores and no discounts due to shortage I think during the covid19
VERY helpful to me. Kept me from being a caveman and tearing it apart. I was able to repair the printer in less than a minute after Properly removing the left side panel (00:50-01:50) Thank you!
Hi. Try to clean the paper pick up rollers. They are located at the front of the tray door, mounted on top of paper tray area. Pull out tray all the way and you will see the rollers if you look under the printer. Also make sure your paper setting tab is correctly set in the tray. If you are using letter size paper, make sure the blue or gray tab is set to letter arrow. I hope this helps.
Great video. Thanks. I was wondering if these HL L series printers provide more details as errors appear. Can you run a code to know what part is causing error. Mine is print unable 05, which appears to point to the fuser
try resetting the printer: ua-cam.com/video/fKYSO_CsYD8/v-deo.html That's the first thing to do. Before you do that, make sure there are no obstructions on the paper paths of the printer.
Thanks for your very helpful video. Wanting to replace my HP-2270dw main pcb as my error light glows constantly. But needing a static wrist band & mat. Amazon seems to have less than satisfactory products. And thanks in advance any help on this. JLS
Awesome video! You are really fluent and precise, I really liked your style. I started watching to see if there are any sensors that can be cleaned. I have a HL-2170W that looks very similar and it is sensing paper jam and stopping to print but I don't feel that they are jamming. From the tray, it feeds the first paper fine and prints it, but the second one results in a jam. If I use manual feeder, not every paper jams, but there is a high probability, and when it errors it does so as soon as a few inches are fed in. In either case, the papers look fine, no crumpling. Could this be due to sensors misbehaving? Any tips on how to resolve?
Hi. Thank you. Usually cleaning rollers will get rid of that problem. There are rollers that pick up the paper from main tray that need to be cleaned once in a while. Use alcohol swabs or paper towel with alcohol to clean them. Most likely that's the issue. I doubt any sensor would cause the error. Hope this helps.
@@303electronics Thank you, appreciate your response. Do you have any pointer for me that shows how to do this? I remember cleaning the ones accessible from outside, not sure if there are any internal rollers that can be cleaned as well.
Awesome Video! QUESTION FOR YOU: I have a HL-2270DW, All Lights are flashing. I tried to do the hard reset through multiple methods, none worked. I read on another forum the constant flashing lights means: BAD FAN as the unit won't print to protect itself. Do you know if it's a BAD FAN and can I replace that myself and is it worth it. Have had TONS of problems with this printer.
I have a Brother HL2170W that has a toner light staying on. I replaced the toner cartage and toner along with a hard reset of the unit. Would my problem be with my laser or a board? Any ideas?
my HL-2240 was accidentally plugged into 220V. and turned on. After about 5 min, a puff of smoke, then it shut down. How much damage you think was done? and, to what? don't know if there are any high voltage fuse protection in there somewhere or not. Any advice?
Hi. Usually refers to hardware malfunction. Try removing toner and drum to make sure there is nothing in the way. Turn printer off, unplug, wait 10 seconds. Turn printer on and see if all lights flashing like they were before. If only drum and toner lights are lit or flashing, install only the drum without toner. If all lights start flashing, you have a bad drum. If not, install toner into drum and see if all lights start flashing like they were. Same rule applies. I will try to tinker with similar model to possibly find a solution if the above isn't. Please let me know how that goes. What is your computer saying the error is?
@@303electronics Windows 10 doesn't recognize when I plug the printer usb cable in. The printer, with or without the toner/drum installed, just flashes all four. There was I time that this condition would clear if I just left it. Suddenly, after hours, it would initiate a normal power-up sequence. Now, its just dead quiet, and just flashes for days.
Most likely the drum needs to be replaced. There are inexpensive operations on ebay and amazon if you want aftermarket brand. Costs around $20. Original Brother brand drum will cost around $80
My HL6200DW is a little harder than this one. I've been racking my brains trying to get the side panels off. The bottom part of the frame won't budge, and I'm afraid I'm going to break it.
There's got to be a screw somewhere. Look in the front, back, and side panels to see if there is a screw there. Also a hard clip can prevent from popping off.
Hey 303 Electronics, I have a HL-2270DW. The printer will not print a full page and gets stuck. When I have to manually pull the page it's 75% printed but it doesn't complete. I am only getting a blinking "Error." There is no drum or toner errors so I am stumped on what to troubleshoot next. I have tried cleaning the rollers and the drum but still the problem persists. Thanks
awesome now i'm trying to figure out why my printer keeps getting a no paper error. the white tab retracts and pushes in when i slide the tray and the rollers are clean. im totally lost here.
You are very knowledgeable. Excellent video. Would you know what is causing my hl 2140 printer not have any fan or motor sounds? I have error lights on so I know it is getting power but there is no motor or fan noises. Would you know what I need to do to fix it?? Please help, I love this printers efficiency.... need it to work. Many thanks.
Hello. Thank you. The problem could be that one of the sensors is indicating that one of the doors or covers is open . Make sure everything in the back is shut and not popping out. And the front cartridge door. Try to spot where the sensor for both are and see if any of the plastic tabs are bent or broken. I will try to find a printer like that and show you where the sensors are located if this doesn't help. Good luck!
@@303electronics Seems like all the doors and covers are closed. Just so odd that this is all of a sudden. Worked fine previously and no power outages to mess it about. Just absolutely no sound coming from it at all. Just flashing lights... LOL Thank you for such a quick reply.

Hi. If it gets stuck at the fuser, it usually means that the fuser needs repair or replacement. That usually happens after 40,000 pages printed.
