I live in Southern California not far from this home & I remember how big of a deal it was moving this spectacular home to its new sight!!! It was in the local news for months!!! Thanks for highlighting it!!! 👍👍🏣
That darn 210 extension! It really caused a lot of problem. I’m glad that the Maloof house survived. I grew up in that area and so many of my friend’s homes were built in the 210 freeway path. Thanks for sharing👍🏻
@@jimc4731 What about the "bi-partisan" malevolent massive moneyed interests throughout California and the USA financing through bribery (a/k/a "campaign contributions") these political puppetry theater "bi-partisan" governments? No fault there? Why not try to get real, and get truly patriotic, and not purely partisan?
When you do dog watch and wake up late, and as I made my cappuccino, I thought to myself ‘I hope there’s a new TH’, And there was!!!! Thank you Ken 🙏🙂 Your voice calms my soul and dang it, now I’m fascinated with these homes. 🙏 Sir
Ken, thank you for sharing this incredible story with us! I have enjoyed using the I210 extension but freeways destroy or change a lot of the people’s lives that were in it’s path. These people’s creation was saved because they had the money and the connections to save theirs from the wrecking ball.
Yes, and we all know just what havoc California's freeway system wreaked on absolutely everything. Money and greed get their way every time. How the Maloofs kept going after such a devastating blow is amazing.

Id like to suggest that, when the images are black and white and there are side bars, that the side bars be gray. I always find the colors to the sides to be distracting. Otherwise, i always dnjoy your videos!
While I can appreciate the design and labor put into building this house, I find it to be a jumbled, cluttered mess. My favorite room in this house was the tiled bathroom because of its simplistic design.

Hi Ken, I love your presentations and watch often. But please stop using “simplistic” when you mean “simple” or “basic.” Simplistic means overly simplified and its a sort of put-down. Too many people make the same error.
Everything in this house is amazing, making it very hard to pick a favorite!

Such a beautiful home! Filled with personality and meaning. I'm glad it was able to be saved.
Loved the
Natural elements of
This home
I don't have a favorite room because the fabulous mid-century furniture takes my breath away!

From the outside it looks like a crazy cult compound in that first shot, but the interiors are lovely and natural.
I went from, "😢aww man..." to "phew😊" in just a few seconds. I'm glad it was moved.
I dislike California government with a passion 🇺🇸
@@jimc4731 imagine thinking a "patriot" is someone who hates his country and hates all the people in it.
Only part of it was moved.
Me too… except I was building to pissed…. I gotta stop that.

The perfect solution for keeping your friends from realizing that you're a hoarder: add a couple of new rooms onto the house!
Beautiful.
So much to comment on, so I will just simply say that it's stunning!
So glad it was moved and not demolished! 😊👍

Goodness they have a lot of stuff. Imagine having to dust all that!
I liked the plants and trees in their garden...
I have toured the house. The grounds and everything are just beautiful.
Great video Ken…..looks like a really comfy home to live in - happy it was preserved ❤
Fascinating house and furniture, really enjoyed seeing it. No special room, overall the roofing seems disjointed but, inside it made sense.
I love it! It’s definitely unique and maybe a little kooky, but it is really lovely!
what a beautiful home

They took a house and turned it into a home built with love.
Beautiful.

That spiral staircase was incredible! The whole house is a living museum! Is it owned by the same family, or open to the public ?
Yes it is owned by the same family; although Mr Maloof has since passed away. It is open for tours again as well.
Very habitable. 👍
Who designed the house additions and guest house?
The woman hanging from the ceiling at 3:36 is interesting, the whole house was interesting!
that was fascinating.. sad they had to have it moved from it's original spot..
Does that bed have no head board ?

One could say Sam was the” chairman of the boards “ 😂🤣😂
Hee hee hee... rich old hippies.
What a refreshing contrast to the pretentious over the top houses of the Astors and Vanderbilts.
