Nubiee here. Why do the roots, numbers change places on chord changes? I thought if it is in Am that the roots / 1's would always on on A notes even if the chord changes. Please help me understand
You're actually thinking of the tonic, which is the "root" of the scale or key. When the yellow Notes show up, those are the chords, so that reflects the changing harmony. The R is the root of each chord as it changes.
