As a Mad Maggie main, I love fighting ramparts. They sure feel safe behind those walls.
You can see from here that it's not exactly Mad Maggie is strong. Astel ability to pick timings and exchanges that will frustrate most of his opponents. He has uncanny instinct to pick out both your position and the worst timing for you to 'mind' about him.
With Maggie he can force his opponents to retreat or force an exchanges.
i can imagine if aggressive movement type players like timmy using pathfinder to push mad maggie, they would be easily cornered. in japanese server playstyle they really love hiding in small space waiting in last ring, so mad maggie is really the valid option to counter this kind of playstyle
@@lqfr8813 Yeah if they actually think about it if their ace only Astel with Maggie they should just rush his team since Maggie has no real defence against move tech hero like Pathfinder, Valk, Horizon etc especially in master rank player.

@@lqfr8813 true. He played with qpi on one custom and dropped 3.5k+ dmg 14 kills using Seer. Their team team kills is 23 if I remembered correctly then played with 1 gun only that is not nemesis nerf the next game. He also wipe almost half of the lobby using 1 gun r301 with rpr while on Seer then played as a duo next game with rpr receiving the no grenades allowed nerf. It's not maggie that makes him strong

This was meant to be a nerf, as Astel was considered too skilled for the team balancing point cap and Maggie was considered one of the worst legends at the time. Astel figured out how to use Maggie effectively, had fun griefing everyone, and thus became a Maggie main in competition.
@@TheTruth-xp2of where they messed up is by only competing in World's Edge. Mad Maggie shines the most on that map and certainly beats out a few other legends as well. Throw this set up on King's Cannon and he would be having a terrible time

Ohh I'm so glad to see the Rampart Sentinel combo. It's low key broken. Getting a headshot against a white helmet does 191 I think and getting a body shot is over a 100 if I remember correctly. I use this combo consistently since it's ammo efficient, allows me to make use of my sniping skills, and I can get the satisfying one taps every so often that makes people think they just got hit by a Kraber. The idea is you boost with the shield cell then fire through her deployable shield and stack the dmg. It's so OP when people want to ego challenge and you're simply better.

For the comp that most of em are running where teams are using the busses and such its not a bad ability, only thing better if argue is Fuse for damaging and making them reposition. It's funny too, cuz even then it should still be a shit ability, but Astel got so much intuition and practice that he knows where to put the drill and make them hit(it was said by someone in a previous tourney)

Their mistake is not realizing that Mad Maggie works like a charm on World's Edge. She may be a bad legend compared to the rest but on World's Edge she holds a LOT of value in the majority of the map
still, not enough value to justify a team slot. Astel's team is suffering 1 glaring problem rn, it's their lack of rotational utility.
Astel plays best when he get ring but rn his POI is launch site which is in the bottom of the map and because of Mad Maggie, they can't fit Valk into their comp (Seer is mandatory and Cata is for defensive utility). This force them a lot of the time to play edge, which hurts Mad Maggie viability because she has less angles and less people to drill from edge. And Astel edge plays are questionable at best
@@domi8499 Want me to be honest? They just need to get better at tactics and strategy. Positioning and timing along with rotation is one of the most important mechanics of a BR game. I used to play PUBG and even if I lost the average gun fight, I could always find an advantageous position and develop a scenario fitting me and my set up. You could do the exact same in Apex but people who play that game aren't as accustomed to it since the ring is Apex is very forgiving compared to PUBG. They could 100% make Mad Maggie completely viable by using an abnormal out of meta team set up and actually pay attention to how one should traverse the map. They're great at gun fights already and have the advantage of it being a tournament, meaning they could make even more use of a good rotation than you could in the average ranked match since people just monkey in ranked but not tourneys.
@@domi8499 Of course, abnormal team comps run the risk of infuriating the other players which is probably why they don't do it (same reason why they don't switch off World's Edge) but if tey we're aiming to simply win then they could totally run a Blood Hound, Mad Maggie, and Octane group that could run down enemy teams early match and gain more than enough points to not bother with the final circle. It's just the reality of this type of tourney I suppose

You said about how they should learn to rotate better and get into a better position, pushing a team is the exact opposite of that idea. I guess you haven't seen much of Apex tournaments to know that you just can't simply force a 3v3.
@@domi8499 that's how I know you're uninformed, it's especially easy to force a 3 vs 3 in Apex tourneys. FAR easier there than a public match. And rotating and positioning are key points to combat as well. If you can't see the reality of how the play should go down then you clearly don't have a knack for improper strategy. It would be a VERY easy wipe of at least two teams before things start getting complicated I could absolutely as you of that much. And if they do it correctly they could run their way to ring three without too much issue, rotation and positioning is greatly based on your opponents and what they're doing, if you think your opponents at the same rate the ring reduces, you'll have roughly enough space to keep up such a rabid tactic. If you still don't understand the viable application of such a strat then it's clear that you only watch tourneys and never really think about how one should play. Like I said before though, this would piss of a lot of competitors so they wouldn't be allowed to do that but if they ever had the chance, approaches like that would wipe the floor with anyone unable to adapt to the new scenario that would occur assuming the basic courtesies of a VSaikyou tourney are ignored. Don't talk strategy if you can't understand it
Not gonna lie, since they know how astel use maggie. I thought they know how to evade that drill
They are doing better than last Vsaikyou. Now, they're only receiving like 8-16 dmg from each drill but it's still annoying since Astel times it well especially when they want to shoot. And 8-16 dmg is still damage so you need to use cells since every little health is important. You'd be surprised how 1 hp can give you a chance at a comeback.
