We were honored when Eric played at my friends funeral in 2007 at a Hollywood nightclub and he was so gracious and polite and just did a wonderful job. Can never thank him enough!
Eric Rigler performing two of my favorite themes from the Braveheart score: "A Gift of a Thistle" and "Outlawed Tunes on Outlawed Pipes." The first instrument he plays is a Low Tin Whistle and the second the Uilleann Pipes.
I was Luckey enough to see Eric perform with the Young Dubliners this weekend at the Grass Valley Celtic Festival. They Rocked the Stage. At the end of the show the Old Blind Dogs and Molley's Revenge joined them on stage, The Brought down the House! TWO SCREAMING THUMBS UP!
This man makes the most haunting, sublime sounds! And yet, WHILE this world-class talent performs, we can hear people (probably vastly less talented) chattering in the background. Really REALLY disturbing!
I always say that my friend Carlos Núñez is the best "I blow everything that has a hole, and I do it like anybody else". But I must admit that Eric is "the other genius". I've enjoyed his superlative mastery and sensitivity since the mid nineties. The big mistake, for me at least, is that he hasn't developed a solo career like Carlos Thanks, Eric, for the zillion smashed hits you shoot to my ♥
