      This would work well... They could move the shocks right onboard too and go with short coilovers. For steering I'm thinking perhaps make it articulate like a front end loader rather than traditional fork(s)... So many options!!!

    OMG, I am so glad you came in at 4.25 and said you aren't going to waste the platform! Hopefully you go forth and build a super lightweight, super capable crawler with the beans of a bouncer. It's always great to see a big beast like that so graciously climb through woodland without destroying everything around it (although I do enjoy the opposite too lol!!)

    • @mrastleysghost
      @mrastleysghost Рік тому +1

      I think something like a 4BT out of a forklift would be a great fit for the chassis and on-brand for them

    • @mradambates1
      @mradambates1 Рік тому

      @@mrastleysghostI love the 4BT…..but that thing could probably float on those 46’s…..the transmission is already toast so with the reduction in the portals, something much more lighter could make something quite ridiculous 🤔

    • @mrastleysghost
      @mrastleysghost Рік тому

      @@mradambates1 I don't think the portals or anything else in that drive train would hold up to rock bouncer power... and anyways, low reduction like that with a low powered motor is unstoppable because you won't break something every time you go out

  • @camerons.8322
    @camerons.8322 Рік тому +18

    12:13 Seeing that giant wheel behind him is a really cool look. I know you're set on the bike build, but imagine a reverse trike with the single mudder in the rear and two, smaller off-road tires in the front.
    I think the visibility, maneuverability, and build layout could work well.

  • @retovideogames
    @retovideogames Рік тому +12

    I love the concept.
    Not seeing what's in front while driving is either boring or dangerous, in my opinion.
    I got 3 ideas:
    1. Use FPV camera and goggles (you already have the tech)
    2. Build a periscope to look over the tire
    3. Offset the seat and controls to one side and counterweight it
    I hope these are inspiring. Happy building!
    I'll wait patiently for the next episode on this.

    • @K.J.Ray421
      @K.J.Ray421 Рік тому +2

      Same here, I really do think he needs his eyeline to at least be above the tire, even if it's only by a little bit. But since he want's to ride so low, I like your idea of the FPV camera. It's not like he's driving it down the road, (or much anyways), so it's all off road crawling. Even if the camera cut out, you'd still be able to stop in time.

    Dual swing arms, 2wd, use the front corner of a stick axle for the front steering hub/knuckle. Most bikes cant accomplish centered steering but that wheel has enough depth that you can probably get the kingpin axis nearly centered if not dead center. Even if its off it probably wont matter. You can also use ram assist steering like on the mini (but with the ram parallel to and along the front swing arm) and a rocker arm to make steering manageable with that big tire.

      @bumpsteer Рік тому

      @@Shadow-ol2ik Transfer case off the bike trans would also help them with speed reduction, it'd be more convenient if they found a way to drive the front and rear off the same axis, tcase getting the front output off to the side would be helpful for running a shaft down the side of the swingarm

    Sweet concept. It's gonna be awesome. Yall should try to incorporate a electronic volvo power steering pump and a GM steering gear box to make the steering easier to handle. The volvo pump can be a little laggy on initial turn but will make that bike wayyyyy more comfortable to ride. If ya mounted the steering box directly behind the wheel with a pitman arm connected to a fork that goes to each side of the wheel it should steer fairly well. I think the biggest issue would be making the steering box 1:1 instead of a 4:1 but I'm sure you guys could figure it out. Idk just an idea

    Have you considered putting the engine behind the seating position? I would look weird, but might make it slightly more functional (at least shorten the wheelbase and much more visibility) if you were sitting approximately where the gas tank normally would be. Would also make turning easier, not having the front axle raked so far in front of you.
    Just quick calculation (pi * 46" diameter tire) tells me you'll go about 12 feet for every rotation of the tire. That's pretty insane to think about on a motorcycle. Good luck with that final gear ratio.

    Please make this two wheel drive. If ya do; it might be worth looking into how the Rokon is made. They had some weird sprag clutch set up inside the top tube inline with the front drive line... allowed the front end to free wheel so it wouldn't crash all the time.
