First start from scratch build in a long time! Hope you guys like the concept 🤙
Maybe you could use 2 forks per wheel turned 90
Hydraulic steering and some way adjustable ride height so when you park frame sits on the ground!
Mount a camera in front connected to a screen behind the front tire so you can ride FPV
You should build it up and bring it to bike week in Daytona
that's awesome!
You need to do single side swing arms for that. That would look crazy can't wait to see you fabricate from scratch again brings me back to the old GPC
That would be cool they could even offset the swing arms so one goes on the left side and the other goes on the right side.
Like a Peugeot Speedfight
This would work well... They could move the shocks right onboard too and go with short coilovers. For steering I'm thinking perhaps make it articulate like a front end loader rather than traditional fork(s)... So many options!!!
Won’t be a real proper chopper with rear suspension hahah
Remember the old Monster Garage Peterbilt trike!
Thank god you're going to do a project with that chassis. The unimog drivechrain is a work of engineering art
Well, they haven't put a project in motion for the chassis yet. That could be years from now or never :/
200 hp Ruckus ? Where you at
yeah, we wanna know!
They are in northern Idaho 🇺🇸
Lol I’m still waiting on the 2JZ mower
@@Pippy626 we know what state it's in, just saying we're ready for the video to come out lol
That's exactly what I was thinking
OMG, I am so glad you came in at 4.25 and said you aren't going to waste the platform! Hopefully you go forth and build a super lightweight, super capable crawler with the beans of a bouncer. It's always great to see a big beast like that so graciously climb through woodland without destroying everything around it (although I do enjoy the opposite too lol!!)
I think something like a 4BT out of a forklift would be a great fit for the chassis and on-brand for them
@@mrastleysghostI love the 4BT…..but that thing could probably float on those 46’s…..the transmission is already toast so with the reduction in the portals, something much more lighter could make something quite ridiculous 🤔
@@mradambates1 I don't think the portals or anything else in that drive train would hold up to rock bouncer power... and anyways, low reduction like that with a low powered motor is unstoppable because you won't break something every time you go out
12:13 Seeing that giant wheel behind him is a really cool look. I know you're set on the bike build, but imagine a reverse trike with the single mudder in the rear and two, smaller off-road tires in the front.
I think the visibility, maneuverability, and build layout could work well.
I love the concept.
Not seeing what's in front while driving is either boring or dangerous, in my opinion.
I got 3 ideas:
1. Use FPV camera and goggles (you already have the tech)
2. Build a periscope to look over the tire
3. Offset the seat and controls to one side and counterweight it
I hope these are inspiring. Happy building!
I'll wait patiently for the next episode on this.
Same here, I really do think he needs his eyeline to at least be above the tire, even if it's only by a little bit. But since he want's to ride so low, I like your idea of the FPV camera. It's not like he's driving it down the road, (or much anyways), so it's all off road crawling. Even if the camera cut out, you'd still be able to stop in time.
The third option, it will look more badass and like something that should came out of MadMax
To see the spark of inspiration at the end with the forks was golden..awesome job guys
I’ve dreamed of owning and building a Unimog for at least 11 years,I was pretty pumped when you guys started building it because I knew you guys would make it awesome, and it made me really sad that you guys cancelled the project, I just hope someday you guys do your thing with that unimog and make it as awesome as it can be because with how things are right now I sadly can’t really see a future where I own my own unimog or a shop or even my own house so I hope you guys can somewhat accomplish my dream
It’s awesome how you guys went from building power wheels go karts to mud choppers
Dual swing arms, 2wd, use the front corner of a stick axle for the front steering hub/knuckle. Most bikes cant accomplish centered steering but that wheel has enough depth that you can probably get the kingpin axis nearly centered if not dead center. Even if its off it probably wont matter. You can also use ram assist steering like on the mini (but with the ram parallel to and along the front swing arm) and a rocker arm to make steering manageable with that big tire.
Shaft drive for sure
@@Shadow-ol2ik Transfer case off the bike trans would also help them with speed reduction, it'd be more convenient if they found a way to drive the front and rear off the same axis, tcase getting the front output off to the side would be helpful for running a shaft down the side of the swingarm
Gotta love the visibility when looking straight forward
Y’all have been an inspiration to some, a dream to most and a fantasy to the ones who dream and chase. It’s amazing you all have came so far. Making an impact on the fabrication and dream-ability of things is absolutely bonkers too me. Imagined some of the craziest mix ups and swaps then just made it happen. Keep up the hard work, love seeing new ideas and videos from y’all always keeps me on my toes.
This is soooo rad, definitely give it power steering! As always fellas, the content and editing is top notch. Cannot wait to see how crazy this thing gets. Go hog wild with the design, Ethan!!
I fully expect to see an old school chopper style king and queen seat😂
Super cool idea. You are right about the lower weight being better. But if you wanna go offroad with it, you want the stuff between the tires to be higher. So you can actually take a speedbump with it
Air bag it, low for show, air it up for break over angle.
Exactly this idea has flaws
Yes. Because if you tillt and fall to the side. It will be to heavy to lift back up.
Or you need like pneumatic side wheels or something
So happy you'll keep that Unimog platform for something epic. One thought - what about going crazy and make it mid engine (seating in front of the engine)? It'd be a little easier to manage the drive train design and the steering plus you'd further enhance it's uniqueness!
That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm surprised they didn't do this by default.
None of the annoying ads I remember from this channel a number of years ago
Epic, much better viewing experience!
Really looking forward to this build . Hope it goes well for you - I've never seen a bike built like it .
Now my weekend can finally begin!
Have you considered a backwards trike? But with power steering to fix your gigantic tire issue? Keep it PREMIUM boys haha 😂
U know its gonna be good when u can fully see the vision from the thumbnail alone.💯
The radical builds you guys do are always 100% unique, I love seeing all the custom fab.
However, I'll admit I kind of like the slightly more practical stuff. They've gotta be comfortable and easy for you to ride. I can tell you enjoy them more, you drive them more often, and they survive on the channel after the build is done.
Its RIDICULOUS how well that rig did with just a motorcycle engine!!! For all the horsepower guys, you dont need much if you have the right gearing and drivetrain!
Ethan,
I truly love how compassionately nutz you are in your build projects.
This one will truly be an incredible creation birthed from the depths of your mind, no umbilical chord necessary!
What an incredible concept to baptize the new shop with 😃😍🤗
Eathan is the mad max of fabrication/builder, you definitely have to make it 2 wheel drive like a Rokon
You guys are great to watch awesome content and great people all around and your from my neck of the woods 🌲
I'd love to see a Grind Hard Plumbing Co. breakdownathon, where you take all your off-road builds for a genuinely hardcore trek, maybe with several shakedowns to get everything more-or-less-working. It'd probably be several episodes worth of content, & it'd be nice to see these super-custom builds put through their paces as legit machines.
I'm so glad you're saving the mog. It's my second favorite GHPC rig
I am a huge rock crawler at heart.
I've been along follower of you for a while. I seen you get a unamong and I was extremely happy. I was hoping to see a rock crawler.
But I will be happy with everything you build never been disappointed.
I'm super pumped for any project Ethan says I'm gonna be really creative cause you can already see on past projects his creativity this can get good
As soon as you said "imagine driving it in the snow" I completely fell in love with this.
Y’all build some of the gnarliest shit a guy hasn’t never seen b4 but yet always impressed with the final result
0:40 yo, kid, lets ride together in that way!
look on road! there is a larry!
You guys are off the wall. Love to see what you come up with on this project
You guys found your dream job sooooo early, I am still nowhere near my dream job. its joyful to watch you guys having fun
That's going to be an awesome project. I can't wait to see that bike stated working on
Sooooo excited for this build !!! I love the big long projects!! Show as much as possible of the build!! Put the go pro on the chest more often please!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Glad that Unimog will get reused. This chopper is going to be immense in size and build, look forward to more episodes.
When you guys finish this build, sas the taco! I really wanna see you rip into that thing. I recently sased my 93 pickup and I couldn't be happier. so happy cutting and grinding!!
Fast vehicles are great. But I will never get tired of looking at vehicles that just don't. stop. going. Logs, rocks, mud, sand, hills, they just continue at their own pace.
GHP, I can't wait to see this build. I seriously haven't been this excited about a build series since the start of the pandemic. It needs to be o.d. green to match the wheels.
A rock climber bike?? That's is something out of this world. Nice project, can't wait to see the construction process
Favorite channel I discovered this year, I cant wait to follow along with this project!
It doesn’t make sense how that big thing works, but I watch and I smile and I laugh and I love it- and isn’t that all that really matters?😂
Absolutely love the concept so excited to see it done and would be super keen to the the public’s reaction
You have the heart and vision of a champion engineer.
Please I need a tesla tank video, I’m going insane!
I anticipate this moment , when I get the notification of a new video ! You guys are awesome ! This one is premium
Can't wait to see this thing! It's probably the most INSANE build I've seen you do yet!
Dude, so jealous and excited! This has been a dream project of mine, can’t wait to see this beast!
Ooooohhhhhhh helllls yeah!! Yewwwwww! The boys coming in hawt with a new monster creation. The coooolest!!!
YEEEEESS!! Guys, I have been waiting sooo long for this kind of project! Thank you! I am off to your store to buy merch🎉
Have a freeking awesome weekend you guys ♥️
Sounds like a good weekend project you know it always sounds good until somebody gets hurt
I CANNOT WAIT ENOUGH for this series. I have ALWAYS wanted to do this.
I’ll definitely be tuned in for this one ,2 Wheel Drive would be cool definitely power steering.🤠😎🎥
I'd love to see y'all build a badass sandrail, those tires on the back would be awesome 👍😊
Y’all should do air suspension! It would be awesome to see some airbags on that thing!
😂Whoops another one monster, the idea of the spring fork really insanely cool😅 makes remind of a knuckle head chopper I see a few weeks ago, big fun of yours lots of fabrication and fun good friends around great time 😃
I like your sweatshirt around 48 seconds in the video I watch him as well,I can't wait for the next episode to see what you come up with crazy on this project
This Mudder bike will be interesting for sure! I will be following this closely!
I like this idea, but I hope you do another mini build sometime soon in the new shop! I’m excited to see what you can really do in that shop when it comes to mini builds!
As a sketchy chopper rider myself I absolutely love the idea!!
Idea 💡 Maybe consider building it where the rider is in the Super Man position I have always wanted to see a motorcycle like that
This is the property of my dreams man. love watching these videos. one day i will have my own spot hopefully like this and a shop to build my toys
Y’all build the most off the wall shit and that’s why I love this channel
This is a dream project for me. I've always wanted to see how extra huge tires on a motorcycle would function.
Reminds me of the 2JZ mower. Can't wait to see this project!
Thanks for posting consistently! My Fridays are always premium thanks to you gents
I'm excited for this! I'm a motorcyclist and this will be cool to see actually working. I'd love to get a picture of my bike next to this Offroad Chopper. (That'd be a cool picture to have on my laptop background).
Howdy from Canada. I noticed that jet boat and then I thought hey make a sidecar that detatches and then I remembered the Russian motor bike with the sidecar and the out board wheel can be engaged with a slip yoke. So bam off road chopper with sidecar jet boat because that's for extreme fishing😂
you should put the Jag body on the Unimog frame. "Jagernaut"
With how big the tires are, think about a one sided front assembly. A lot easier to engineer and build. Also can be made more structurally sound.
U guys need a GRIND HARD mural painted on the roof of the new shop for those bad ass drone shots
As always great content. Looking forward for ya'll to take us on this journey.👍
The quad pilot is definitely getting better, I see the dives
Thanks, I have a large valve (tube) amp project i jave ot build and of course the best way is to stop thinking and just start laying the transformers out and let the chassis form around them - Simples!
Been holding off subscribing because I already have enough people posting but this one did it for me. Love the builds
Probably one of your more challenging builds for sure. My wheels are already turning thinking about it.
Such a good idea on the swingarm style front suspension! You can even re-use the forks if you wanted to by having a rigid “fork” and then The forks from the KTM as just the spring component.
Sweet concept. It's gonna be awesome. Yall should try to incorporate a electronic volvo power steering pump and a GM steering gear box to make the steering easier to handle. The volvo pump can be a little laggy on initial turn but will make that bike wayyyyy more comfortable to ride. If ya mounted the steering box directly behind the wheel with a pitman arm connected to a fork that goes to each side of the wheel it should steer fairly well. I think the biggest issue would be making the steering box 1:1 instead of a 4:1 but I'm sure you guys could figure it out. Idk just an idea
The most beautiful/ DANGEROUS creation yet...
Your dedication to the OEM by keeping those fuel tanks on the 4 wheel 1199 crawler is hilarious
There was another bike builder who build a chopper similar to what you guys are aiming for. But AirRide would be your ultimate friend in this build.
Drifting this thing will be as mental as it goes, nice
These are my favourite episodes where you just take found parts and build something bonkers.
Sick! I'm stoked, can't wait for the next installment on this! (actually I can and will wait. I will absolutely wait for this)
If anyone can make this work, you guys can. Love the idea!
I cant stop staring at this, i think it might actually be STRANGELY easy to ride.
The mass of those wheels, even crawling it will WANT to center.
The geometry you have planned with the weight so low, will make it absurdly comfortable to lean, and in turn.... turn.
Cant wait to follow along, Gonna be One sick chopper!
We need to see that Fire Truck get some love as well!!
That UniMog deserves a full build. It’s so capable
Remember not to make it too low, you don't want to bottom out over bumps/obstacles offroad
Love the content ❤
It would look crazy with rear engine and girder or springer forks. I'm glad there you said that just as I was writing this.
Whenever you get that beasty bike all together, you should take it to Sturgis next year
Ethan! Your brain is awesome! You've taught me so much! Ty!
Like that four wheel set up, hell I'd drive to work and wherever else
Will saying shaft play was top 5 best jokes ever on here lol
Have you considered putting the engine behind the seating position? I would look weird, but might make it slightly more functional (at least shorten the wheelbase and much more visibility) if you were sitting approximately where the gas tank normally would be. Would also make turning easier, not having the front axle raked so far in front of you.
Just quick calculation (pi * 46" diameter tire) tells me you'll go about 12 feet for every rotation of the tire. That's pretty insane to think about on a motorcycle. Good luck with that final gear ratio.
Please make this two wheel drive. If ya do; it might be worth looking into how the Rokon is made. They had some weird sprag clutch set up inside the top tube inline with the front drive line... allowed the front end to free wheel so it wouldn't crash all the time.
perfect winter project. looking forward to it!
