Delightful episode. To whomever runs this channel. THANK YOU for giving me a daily 23-25 minutes of fun & laughs to enjoy during my lunchtime. You are too generous, and while I don't post too often, I do watch everyday (for certain) & try to give a like to every episode. As always have a very pleasant Tuesday evening.
I had the pleasure, many years (decades) later of meeting both Mitch Miller (I was on a commercial with him) and Jane Meadows (at the dedication of the Steve Allen Theatre at the Center For Inquiry West in Hollywood) . Mitch was pleasant, but Jane was one of the most gracious people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.
Jayne was always camera-ready. Catch her during the introductions making sure that every bit of jewelry she had on was in frame... good thing she wasn't wearing an anklet!!! LOL Tom was very jokey/schticky this time out.
The "WTF" look on the Baroness' face when Kitty asked her what an escutcheon with 16 quarterings is was precious. What she was asking has to do with heraldry. "Escutcheon" is another way to say the shield part of a coat of arms. "16 quarterings" means that the shield displays the designs of 16 different combined armorial shields (typically a shield would have many quarterings because a family/dynasty is showing a combined version of the different shields of families that married into it or of different territories in their possession). A "bar sinister" is a symbol put on someone's coat of arms to denote their being illegitimate.
@@lukeheaton5336 Guess I'm too mature to know Underdog, (though I sure have known a lot like that). But did you know that "sinister" is Latin for "left-sided", and "unlucky"? That was mean to the child in those days. And there are several tools made specifically for "lefties" to use.:)
As a lefty myself, I am well aware of tools made specifically for us. I used to shop at the Ned Flanders "Leftorium" until it closed. Wait, knowing who Underdog is makes me immature??
Anyone know what happened to one of the imposters: Lawrence Davidson, baritone Metropolitan Opera? I tried to find a biography. He lived in Great Neck, NY. I have relatives who lived there at the time. Found lots of recordings, and I saw a newspaper clip about him becoming a Cantor at a synagogue, but nothing more about him.
The panel got totally focused on the nobility factor of the Baroness. Seeing that the woman works two jobs that aren’t ‘high-falutin’ and didn’t know the hierarchy from king to baroness, it’s obvious she didn't have the upbringing of a noble.
I saw an episode ot TTTT where George Lindsey, (later portrayed Goober Pyle) was one of the imposters; I can't find that episode---anyone know which episode/year/date??
sorry you've run out of Monique Van Vooren shows. she was great. good questions. Julie Newmar appeared only once? she seemed flustered. watched two shows finally got the last game correct. I need Polly's nurse.
How come Jayne Meadows has been on there 3 days in a row? and Bud in all 3 episodes, he introduced her as part of the panel. He didn't say "Welcome back" or "Nice to have you back." He just introduced her as part of the panel, and Polly was never mentioned either.
I get a kick out of Jayne Meadows being amused by something and she does that exhaling "Ahhhhhhhhh" thing. Her jewelry in this episode was a bit much. LESS is more, Jayne.
I had never noticed that until someone mentioned it in the comments section of another episode. Now I can't help but notice it everytime. LOL! I guess Bud must've had a bald spot in the back of his head. What's really intriguing is that the "covering" is darker than his real hair. Looks like they would've made it the same color. He had nice hair, but must've been missing some of it in the back.
No, it was the times and that’s how celebrities / people dressed. And that meant they dressed for evening attire and they were well groomed. That’s why many of us enjoy these episodes from the 50s and 60s. It was a different time and it’s long gone and in many ways that is a loss for our postmodern society.
In this particular episode as many panels as they try to be smarter than the real truth teller, but Kitty Carlisle was especially condescending as was the other woman sometimes they just think the shows about themselves and it spoils it
I didn’t think so. But you’re looking at these celebrities through your post modern, 2020 hindsight eyes. And I especially like kitty Carlisle and she got better through the years.

Tom Post had one of the best honey bee jokes I have heard.
Jayne Meadows always looked so beautiful
Yes, Jayne did always look gorgeous! I know that High Hair was their style then, but OMG, these wigs were as stiff as boards!
It was great to have the legendary Mitch Miller on the panel. That Steve Allen was a lucky man.

The only Bar Sinister I know of was Simon Bar Sinister, from Underdog. 🤷♂️

Could you please upload the episode from November 8, 1965? :) thanks
It's scheduled to post on July 31st.
I can't figure out how an hereditary German Baroness ended up in Bogota, Colombia.
Cynical, snarky answer: Rumor has it in 1945/1946 a number of notable Germans emigrated to South America.
A lot of the Nazis and their families fled to South America during and after WW II.
I'm still trying to figure that out also. That entire second game in this episode with the baroness was pretty much a disaster.
Tamara is Hebrew for a date.
Mitch Miller was reading off something. I suspect that the panel was given certain questions to ask.
Possibly, although panelists usually made notes during the reading of the affidavits.
Are these old shows exempt from copyright? Where do you source them?
OMG
I hate it when they all lie.
And yes they DO lie and the real one is not supposed to.
Does anyone else think Bud Collier had a hair piece on the back of his head?

Kitty has a proclivity of being a snob.
Those woman are slightly over dressed........
Now every one is under dressing 👗 and wear devil black ⚫ in everything they put on . Due to lack of reverance of God

Not at all. This is the way Americans dressed. We had more decorum. Not this crap casual look. People took pride in appearance.
What is a Bogota baroness? The wife of a drug lord?
Wrong decade.
@@MinnesotaBeekeeper Jk. What is she though?
