Palestine Underground | Hip Hop, Trap and Techno Documentary Featuring Sama' | Boiler Room
Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 жов 2024
- Palestine Underground by Boiler Room, 4:3 and Ma3azef documents the resilience of a burgeoning music scene undeterred and fuelled by political restrictions, building bridges through a shared sound and identity.
For the past ten years, Palestinian music collective Jazar Crew have been fostering a vibrant party scene in Haifa, as an alternative to the mainstream club scene in Israel.
Thanks to the internet, they've connected with artists in Ramallah, Palestine, and defied the separation wall to travel to the West Bank and organise events with Techno DJs Sama' Abdulhadi and Oddz, and members of the tantalising hip hop and trap scene, the collectives Saleb Wahad and Bltnm.
Palestine Underground follows a week in the life of these artists and friends, in the lead up to the first Boiler Room in Ramallah in June this year.
A part of Contemporary Scenes - uncovering underground collectives, artists and subcultures from across the world.

Such a great documentary, thank you for sharing! May this beautiful Palestinian music and culture live on! 💗 FREE PALESTINE
there was more energy and soul in this video than majority of BR videos i've seen. goddamn inspiring. thank you BR
Respect from the Potawatomi indian reservation in Wisconsin USA!
Much respect to our Native American brothers. You all understand us.
@@Paminazar we hope one day we could make a joint fest with ATCR for example!
So much wrong with this documentary. One of the concerns is about losing their culture yet Israel is the only place Jews are represented as the majority. Elsewhere Jews have a struggle to pass down their culture generation to generation as a minority culture. Without Israel Jews would be a minority everywhere struggling to retain their culture. On the other hand there are many Arab countries, most with Islam as the state religion, people who need that are well catered for in this world. In one of the map you called the kibbutzim in mandate Palestine “settlements” even though they were inhabited by legal migrants of either the mandate or Ottoman Empire on land legally bought from local landlords. One of the girls called Haifa “occupied” even though it’s in Israel’s legal borders, in a country recognised by most countries in the world bar Arab league countries.
@@Crouchenders but us Palestinians were never asked as i mention someone come to ur land and not leaving
@@Crouchendersthis is the stupidest and most racist thing ive ever heard
what a beautiful community ! I just saw this video. one of the smartest kindest, creative nation ever !
Long live Palestine !
I am writing from Venezuela, really moved by this short documentary , developing a purpose at the party is something truly revolutionary. Here we work with what we have, in a complex context, with a serious political, social and economic situation, it sinks us into laziness, but seeing this is really inspiring. respects for Palestina. thanks boiler room.
Palestine is still standing by its new generation full of pride, talent and LOVE.. I feel very proud but also I pray for all the Palestinians in the occupy territory
Sending love and peace from Morocco
Total Agree.
From Rabat/Morocco.
More Palestinian boiler room crowds please they actually look they're having a good time compared to the uk who have everything yet look miserable!
James Barnes it’s not a third world country. They still have fun
Dead But obviously with everything going on over there politically it can't be a nice situation to say the least. That people just get on with it and are obviously very passionate about their music and it actually means something to them is very important.
James Barnes people just trying to live their best livesssss
@@Jay-fq8uz people have fun in "third word" countries too.
They must be like: "This is what freedom from politics and religion feel like"
I AM SO BLOWN AWAY BY THE SCENE IN PALESTINE! THESE PEOPLE ARE REAL!
Their diaspora in London repped too on the London pirate radio scene. MC. Mighty Moe (Heartless Crew) and an innovator of UK Garage is of Palestinian dissent and so is MC Skanker (Reckless Crew).
Much love from brazil.
From a palestinian refugee's child
#FreePalestine
Big up the Brazil crew!! I recently found out that Rai and Socrates (RIP) the Brazilian footballers were of Palestinian decent.
I was lead here after watching Sama's set on the Boiler Room and my heart becomes so full when my mind expands from learning more about a topic I had little knowledge on. Thanks for sharing this passionate musical side of Palestine too. It is on my bucket to visit.
Unfathomable how much they have to fight and endure for something so like this. I love the Palestine boiler room set more than anything. To see those beautiful people just losing their mind. Keep it up!
I wonder how they are doing nowadays, would be amazing an update . I always like this documentary, and today just came back to revisit it. this documentary is amazing. thanks !
Much love from Croatia to my Palestinian brothers and sisters ❤❤❤🤘
Brothers and sisters! respect and much love from Belarusian jews! the wall must fall!
all respect to say the truth man
Thank you for this documentary. I cant express what this means to me, especially at a time like this. The way they speak of and address our psycho-social issues as a displaced and occupied people gave me goosebumps. I love you, my Palestinian kin. I will be back and I will party with you all some day soon. Stay strong, and keep loving one another.
These musicians do more for peace, than any politician speach.
Thanks Boiler Room.
Respect from the UK. Free Palestine!
plastine is already free ,,,,,
these r the real warriors, who stand infront of many boundaries and still they spread peace and love through their music, hats off from Morocco
This is EXACTLY what i want to see
Respect boiler room for telling it like it is... always blown away by palestinian talents!

Such a deep and beautiful underground production. We start from to bottom to reach the Sky!!!! FREE PALESTINE
I LOVE YOU BOILER ROOM. FREE PALESTINE!!!!!
This is amazing. This is a really important film & a scene I was completely unaware of! I just wish I had the chance to witness this while in the West Bank in April 2017. Our experience in the north of Ireland, in venues like The Point Inn, Kelly’s of Portrush, The Art College, The Arena, Circus Circus, Hennessey’s in Derry, were for me as a committed raver in the 90’s, not at all dissimilar to this movement in Palestine. The impact of the musical revolution for catholics and protestants in the six counties cannot be overstated. It was actually, in many cases, the first time people met others from opposing cultures/denominations - on the dancefloor. Friendships were made & divisions forgotten. United in the music. Drugs of course were a factor, but mostly a positive & probably necessary sidebar to this new world order. I firmly believe it was an integral catalyst for change in the social fabric of Northern Ireland, because I saw it first hand. Viva Palestine 🇵🇸 Viva Techno 🤖 Viva la revolución! 👍 Peace, love & empathy, in techno.. 💚
Great comment! Too true. ✌️
Just browsing through UA-cam randomly and stumbled across this beautiful comment, as a committed person who aligns himself to the spirituality of the rave mentality and how you can lose yourself in that moment of blissful dance and sound, I agree that it unites everyone from all different creeds and walks of life and I'm happy too see that being from Derry that they're people still committed as ever too going for a boogey.
Much love my Man, hope still have that youthful spirit in you.
In rave we trust.
Till dusk we dance.
In Music we live.
With Love that we share.
This makes me want to come to Palestine!!!!!
U are welcome..this country for all😊😊😊
tell me if u find a flight to palestine
Go! It's super easy. You buy a ticket to Israel and take a bus over. They didn't even stop the bus when I went into Bethlehem from Israel. Getting back into Israel is another story. Don't forget your passport in Israel like I did.
So its israel not palestine
@ @@--MountWolf--
Nope, not for Zionist squatters !
"You never solve racism with racism" so so true
Especially outside of the Middle East people need to communicate. Especially between Muslims and Jews as well as between exiled Israelis and Palestinians.
Beautiful culture, beautiful people. Free Palestine from Oakland.
This is truly awesome, this is what life's about, LOVE TO PALESTINE AND TO ALL HUMAN RACE, thanks Boiler Room, please stay strong making a BETTER W0RLD, share the message
No idea how i missed on such documentary! Big up for Boiler Room, 4:3 and to all these underground artists and party-goers who are risking it to make this community become ONE!! This is what i call purely underground! One day I will have to be there!

Big up from Hackney London!! The Palestinian diaspora repped in London on pirate radio scene with MC Mighty Moe (Heartless Crew) and MC Skanker (Reckless Crew) both being of Palestinian descent!!!! Not much spoken about their backgrounds but believe me they do your people proud.

I love this so much, I've watched it multiple times. I was actually in Jaffa the day it was released and watched it there. I wish I had gone to Ramallah. So inspiring.
This was one of the best Boiler room sets ever from Palestine. Def one of Sama's best.. the engery was just crazy. That's for doing this documentary. Very well done.

massive respect boiler room !!! one love, freedom for palestine, peace power and solidarity
Really amazing and impressive documentary! Like the docu says, I (as a westerner) only see images of Palestine as a war zone... Really heartbreaking to see this oppression as if WO2 never ended...
True respect for this group of artist. Love from Taipei, Taiwan.
What a great piece of work. Big thumbs up to all the Palestinian artists and BR.

MORE OF THIS!!! SO MUCH MORE OF THIS! #UndergroundPalestine!!
Thank you for showing this, how you were able to do this is what my dream is if I had money to fund my dreams. To travel to world and learn about different cultures though food, music and the stories that are told. Thank you again for this. Love, peace, respect and knowledge.
A beat is a like a bablefish it translates to any language. The music they are creating is easier to listen to than most American hip-hop which has lost its soul. Great documentary. One of the reasons I love UA-cam. Breaking down barriers.

Biggest reapect from serbia to palestinian underground scene...THIS IS YOUR TUME PEOPLE!!!!
Love and respect from Atlanta, GA USA. Makes it all the more horrifying what is happening right now to the vibrant, beautiful Palestinians. If this could be widely seen in the US, things would be different. People wouldn't stand for it.

Brilliant documentary! Thanks BR x
This is gold, thank you for this mini documentary
This type of hip hop - techno underground i'm sure is happening in almost every country, but thats why its underground, you dont know about it unless you live that life.
This is a great example and makes it even more special coming from such an exotic and complicated place on earth. I really enjoyed watching this, i wacted it 2 times in row, much love for the guys involved, keep it real you're awesome!
I love this documentary! Such a positive insight into the Palestinians yes they’re also people normal loving fun and respectful. But just a shame about their situation. God help them!
Omg this is what its all about! And people don't understand house/techno scene... 😣 Best church to celebrate club like this.
MUCH LOVE and respect from Indonesia!! this vid makes me wanna go there (if its possible) thx boiler room!
The dopest documentary I have seen in a minute. Shoutout Boiler Room for stepping up and allowing people to use their voices and express their passions!
Awesome documentary
It really shows that you can relate to the youth really just in any country. Everyone is just looking for freedom, some opportunity and music.
This is such an important documentary, especially now. Yesterday, Isreal with collaboration with US conducted a special operation in Gaza Nuseirat Refugee camp and killed 215 palestinian ppl, to "save" 4. The media were all celebrating the success in complete disregard of palestinian lives lost, the ceasefire deal on the table of Hamas, ICJ and ICC rulings against Israel. This is showing the humanity of Palestinian people that needs to be aknowledged. Thank you for this
This was awesome . Peace and love from San Diego
Can vies (Sants, Barcelona) brought me here. Love from Spain, Palestina will be free.
So proud of the Palestinian scene ! Keep resisting! Tunisian support you from the bottom of our heart ♥️
Does not get more real than this
Big Love to the Palestine Dance Revolution !!!!!
