@Imafed42069 why we got the f××k out of CA. It bleeds you dry of everything; Finances, humanity, decency. Been 3 years now and have gotten up to 150k year with a new ppsition, add the wife's 75k and we are absolutely liberated.
I have been telling people for years, even when I was on active duty; stop looking at just what is deposited into your account each 1st and 15h (for for VA benefits each 1st of the month), look at your benefits in terms of healthcare, education, travel expenses; TSP. By the time I add up all of my benefits (100% disability plus Post 9/11 GI Bill) I make the equivalent of 110K in Nashville TN. There are virtually no private sector jobs here that pay anywhere near that amount. I am living very well. There are a lot of civilians that wish they had half of what I have.
@VanquishMediaDE you're gonna have to explain that in depth. Also.. free health care benefits and education benefits don't translate to income or money in pocket like this guy is saying, so if you have anything to add, I'd sincerely love to hear it as I'm also 100% p/t.

Saving by not paying property tax and/or health insurance premiums does not increase the monthly compensation amount. It simply means it doesn't deduct from your monthly compensation amount.
There's this saying "a penny saved is a penny earned." Basically, the guy in the video is saying that if you aren't paying for healthcare (because you can get if for free with disability) then you are technically making that much a month because you normally would spend that money on healthcare. He's emphasizing the importance to utilize all the disability benefits because there is a lot of money you can save, or "make", besides the base disability amount

He also got a state of Pennsylvania pension for the rest of his life for $150 a month which pays for his electricity. Can I give you a little advice? Unless that flag on the wall is in an open window so it can be viewed from outside, you have it hanging backwards. Stars are always in the top left when being displayed vertically.
Thanks for the comparisons, pretty eye opening. I'm one of your Grand Master clients and you touched on something in this video that I've been trying to find - CHAMPVA with 100% VA. I haven't found solid answers on what exactly it is, or how to enroll myself & spouse. I've read it's only a supplemental insurance, but haven't found anyone who's done a deep dive into it yet. Have you thought of diving into this benefit to dig out more details for your current (and future) 100% clients?
CHAMPVA is strictly for dependents. I misunderstood it initially and thought it was for myself as well. If you file, include all the requested (but not "required") documents on the VA site. Turn around time is 30-45 days vs. months if the VA has to track down all the paperwork themselves. I just this past few weeks got all my approval paperwork, their CHAMPVA ID cards, and pharmacy ID cards. Dental, from what I understand, costs monthly and you have a choice between two providers. I'm thankful to have it cause I just got laid off from my job.

I’ve done a great job avoiding doctors since I separated in 2006. Rather, I’ve seen naturopathic doctors, learned meditation and yoga, experimented with cannabis, even gone to the extreme of ayahuasca ceremonies. These have helped tremendously with things I’m dealing with. However, I understand this might not help with my VA claim given I have avoided going to doctors and not ‘adding evidence’ to support my claim with the VA. I’m sure the examiner will ask why the large gap. I can get buddy letters. I’ve considered getting a medical marijuana card that might help too. Switzerland has made most of these things legal and has successfully treated PTSD. I’m sure I can get medical evidence to support my claim. Is telling the VA examiner I’ve done weed and psychedelics something that can hinder me?

Good evening, I love your content!, I love how you help out our brothers and sisters in need. There’s not many out there that would do that. I have a quick question. I have a 90% rating (all static) however one of my disabilities (ankle tendinitis) is showing that my tendons are “intact” now. However I stated that I am still feeling the same symptoms that was noted on my Va award claim “limited motion of the ankle”. I went to the VA for this MRI. I also told the Va doctor about the limited motion of my ankle. Do you think they may possibly decrease my rating because of this? Thank you!
If anyone asks for any kind of payment to help you with gaining your VA benefit's, avoid them! There are many great Veterans associations who will be more than happy to assist you for no cost! The VFW was my go to, I had a prior service JAG officer assigned to me and he assisted me at no cost! Never pay for help, no matter what their sales pitch is!!

I still dont get how we would make a six figure pay with the tax exempt and health insurance benefits. We will still be making the $4100 a month from VA for 100% dissability rating. We will just be saving on not having to pay property taxes and health insurance but that doesnt mean we make that money on pay in addition to our va disability pay to make it a six figure pay a year. Or am i missing something ???
Beautiful way to close the video. I have so many friends say I'm ok with my 90% or below because I don't want to be greedy. Bullshit. You earned that. Also, remember ChampVA is only for those veterans that do not retire and are rated P&T disabled (or 4 other eligiabilty items). All retirees are eligible for Tricare and if you can get Tricare you can't get ChampVA.
I’m thankful for VA disability but as a TDIU vet with a family, this income is not enough. Everything is so expensive now and a 100k salary is not as uncommon as it was 10-20 years ago. To give y’all perspective, Domino’s pizza drivers (Texas) earn ~$25 per hr. I also have 21 yr old relative who drives a dump truck and earns min $1500 per week net with nothing more than a HS diploma and CDL. If you’re 100% disabled and on TDIU, you can’t work and if you do you better be prepared to be reduced. It’s a messed up situation
I agree with most of this video. I think the CHAMP VA inclusion is kind of a stretch. You can only get that if you dont qualify for Tricare, and at 100 P&T are likely to qualify. Is there even a way not to qualify? You would be better to include veteran dental coverage which isnt well advertised and the vet might not even be aware of. This has already save me tens of thousands of dollars with multiple crowns and implants to fix all of the subpar dental care i received on active duty.
@@tanyadavila7551 as a Vet rated 100% you automatically get VA dental included in your care. In other situations, you can also get reduced cost dental coverage. Learn more here about that: www.va.gov/health-care/about-va-health-benefits/dental-care/dental-insurance/

Yep, was going to retire in Ohio (2029) until I saw it's only $60K off the total value of your home. Screw that. There are WAY better states to retire to, and if you're dual mil on 100% disability + pensions, some states do NOT tax military pensions AND have exempt you from property taxes.....

Perhaps you can help me get the VA to actually look at my compensation correction. In a nut shell, my daughter (who was already listed as my dependent) turned 18 last September.r. The VA immediately stopped paying the extra money compensation as a dependent. However, she's still in High School. I actually submitted the form stating this fact back in August to restart my payment and pay the backpay from her birthday month. Yet, it's been 5 months now and the VA has yet to do anything with my claim. I'm so tired of how inefficient this gov agency is. It should not take this long for my dependent payment to restart. Of course, I will have to repeat this process in the fall when she starts college. How long is it gonna take for the VA to even look at this too? Another year? How about some answers and help for this?
@cobrabtc I had a similar situation but did try to ensure VA had paperwork early (yet, it didn’t help)….anyway daughter turned 18 last August of 2023. No it is not. Takes almost 200k to be what 100k was just 8 years ago.
true, but its great if youre living abroad
I’d take 100k over 0 any day
Hell na man I make 150k but have a wife at home with 3 kids in southern california I'm broke all the time man can't get ahead I finally started looking into getting va benefits 8 years after ets
@Imafed42069 why we got the f××k out of CA. It bleeds you dry of everything; Finances, humanity, decency. When we first left I went from 120k down to 70k a year, but my quality of life and financial stability skyrocketed.
This is legit my property taxes in Texas are $13k per year and now they are zero
Living off that 100% in Thailand & Cambodia for the last year! 🕺🏾
How does it feel? What’s it like?
Nice
I’m at 100% but I have a friend that’s not a veteran that’s waiting for his son to graduate in 6yrs and then he’s moving to Thailand. I will be visiting.

Do you have a video for a 100% trying to start a business for grants or anything like that?
Saving by not paying property tax and/or health insurance premiums does not increase the monthly compensation amount. It simply means it doesn't deduct from your monthly compensation amount.
Yup I have never understood why they church up the numbers. SMH. Its 4100 str8 up nothing more. Cut the crap.
Im sitting here confused, like i get the 4100, but the taxes and healthcare.......
@@nathanmoxley616totally understand that but he makes it out saying you are adding it to the $4100 mo not saving it - $4100 + $660tax + $1660 ins still equals $4100 - not $6k - you save it not increase your monthly pay 😂- math
@@nathanmoxley616not understanding this is like young airmen who complain that their base pay is "less than they'd make on the outside" meanwhile they have room, board, gym, tuition, etc. smh

I feel you. I messed my knee up sleeping last night. And they say it's free money!
In Massachusetts, 100% disabled Vets get a separate $2k annually from the State for live. They issue 2 separate $1k checks. One in the Spring, and 1 in the fall. No including the property tax deductions.. I couldnt find any other state that does this.. That's an easy 20k you can save in 10yrs...
Good video. Just one thing your flag is displayed incorrectly, stars go on the left side as you look at it. The only time it’s on the right is over a casket.

Thank you. This was driving me nuts.
good info. small correction though the veteran itself is not really qualify for champ va. it's for the spouse and kids only. the veterans get free medical from the va hospital. i am 100% P&T and champva is game changer no more paying $600 a month premium for my family insurance.
I get gas discounts from my grocery store. Can I add that to what the VA pays me?
Hey, seems like a good video. at the 2 and a half minute mark you say that "you can get champ VA not only for you, but for your family" does that mean that I'm not stuck at the VA and that I could be using champ VA? I did not think that was the case. I hate going to the VA hospital and would love to use champ VA but I did not know that I was able to until you said that. Or is there a chance that maybe you got that part wrong? Please let me know. Thanks.
CHAMPVA IS FOR THE SPOUSE/dependents--not for the Veteran since we can access the VA for all our health care needs.
It is100% legal to list the gross equivalent for your annual income on all financial and legal forms. If you put your actual amount received they WILL deduct for taxes making your income look smaller than it is. It helps with your credit debt to income ratio to help get better interest rates...
Don't forget if you live in a state like TX or FL...prop taxes are fully exempt if you're 100%. That is HUGE especially in TX where they're high.
Actually the median property tax in Texas is 2200 a year.
I don’t understand the 1660 amount. How do we get that in our account ?
ChampVA can only be used by dependents and the veteran must have be Total & Permanent (P&T).
Champva is NOT for the 100% veteran, only for dependents.
True, but what he is trying to explain is the value of what you get for the coverage of your family.
@@proudasiangirl576 the family will not qualify for Champ VA unless the veteran is 100% rating.

Hi everyone! I just watched video and it really opened my eyes to the staggering costs of health insurance. It got me thinking about how easy it is to focus on cash payments but overlook all the other benefits available to us. I'm truly grateful for the support I receive from the VA, even though I sometimes wish they could improve the claims processing. It’s a reminder to appreciate what we have while pushing for better services
Love this chalk board talk, feel like I am class room and learning at the same time, thanks for your straight forward approach
Check your local area for electricity assistance My brother only pays $140 a month no matter what his bill is. I think he spoke with a VSO.
He also got a state of Pennsylvania pension for the rest of his life for $150 a month which pays for his electricity.
He also filed for social security disability and gets almost double what he would have regularly gotten and it's not taxed.
Oh and by the way now that he's completely disabled his kids get $500 a month while they're in college until age I think 25 or 26. And they don't pay tuition I think it's covered I'm pretty sure. I want to join your master program but right now I'm a little short on funds.
Absolutely great information. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise.

Can I give you a little advice? Unless that flag on the wall is in an open window so it can be viewed from outside, you have it hanging backwards. Stars are always in the top left when being displayed vertically.
It’s a decal from a company. He hung it the way they sent it.
The $660 for property taxes is one time year
Yes, because property taxes are assessed once per year and he broke it down per month. So in his example it's $660 x 12 = $7,920 (one time per year)
CHAMPVA is only for the dependents not the veteran, but yes amazing benefit for sure!
man your in texas??? im here in san antonio and in need of help with my claims. how can i contact you
Thanks for the comparisons, pretty eye opening. Have you thought of diving into this benefit to dig out more details for your current (and future) 100% clients?
www.va.gov/COMMUNITYCARE/programs/dependents/champva/champva-apply.asp
You have to fill out a va form 10-10d and fax it over to the VA so your dependents can get va health benefits as well.
Let's not forget no pmi and lower interest rate

Wait a sec... as a recruiter, that is pretty much how I would describe and compare living off of a military wage to living off of a civilian job wage. Makes sense. This is a very helpful video.
In VA the property tax exemption only applies if you are 100% P&T. If you are only 100% disabled the exemption does not apply
There's never much for 90% disability vets
Unless you’re a retiree and work a full time job. If you’re single and 90% and not working, it’s bare bones living at best.
Hardly any states do the property tax exemption
I have lived in Oklahoma and now live in Pa. Both states have complete property tax exemption. Many other states it's only a partial exemption.

Property tax benefit is only for permanent 100% disability. I live in Tennessee and have had a temporary 100% since 2014 and do not qualify for property tax deduction.
Here in Texas if you’re 70% they take the 70% off your property taxes and so on with the other percentages like 80%, 90%, etc.
Champva does not usually cover the veteran. It covers the veterans dependents. I am a Sr healthcare revenue cycle analyst and a 100% p&t veteran.
Champ VA is offered as a secondary insurance that will supplement a primary. How are you getting it as a primary benefit insurance to absorb the entire costs?
How many vets get approved
Veterans do not get Champ VA ...that healthcare insurance is for spouse of the disabled veteran with higher ratings. Is it different in TX?
CHAMPVA is only if you don't qualify for Tricare.
It took me 20 years after the fact to understand they needed to compensate me now i am 100 P/T
Good. Those who chose to sacrifice their comfort and serve their country deserve every help, every pay, every act of kindness.
With doing a personal statement. My the secondary symptoms/supplement claim. Do I have to write a separate personal statement from the primary symptoms?
What kind of a watch is that?
My husband and I are both 100% service connected p&t, we live in Fl(from Tx in 2021), so we have zero property taxes and the other great benefits mentioned. It is impossible to find any doctor who will accept Champ VA as payment.
I really appreciate this ❤❤❤❤
Just found your channel today. Definitely looking into the geographic arbitrage. Appreciate the great info my guy.

Good evening,
I love your content!, I love how you help out our brothers and sisters in need.
Thank you!
The numbers your using for house taxes and medical insurance are way over inflated

He basically saying if you didn’t have disability you would be paying these amounts as a civilian therefore it saves you money.
Champva once you get 100% P&T right?
Yes
I’m thankful for VA disability but as a TDIU vet with a family, this income is not enough. Everything is so expensive now and a 100k salary is not as uncommon as it was 10-20 years ago. To give y’all perspective, Domino’s pizza drivers (Texas) earn ~$25 per hr. I also have 21 yr old relative who drives a dump truck and earns min $1500 per week net with nothing more than a HS diploma and CDL. If you’re 100% disabled and on TDIU, you can’t work and if you do you better be prepared to be reduced. It’s a messed up situation
660 ? are you talking about rent rate from 2010 or something?
Property tax, not rent
Good breakdown
Champ VA isn’t for the vets. It’s for their families.
How does one get Dental coverage and can dependants be covered aa well?
@@tanyadavila7551 as a Vet rated 100% you automatically get VA dental included in your care. In other situations, you can also get reduced cost dental coverage. Learn more here about that: www.va.gov/health-care/about-va-health-benefits/dental-care/dental-insurance/
In Ohio the homestead property tax relief is so minimal its hardly worth doing. The formula the county tax assessor uses is completely absurd. Ie: reduced my tax by $16.50 / month. ( it should be a 100% reduction, it's not. )
