Excellent information. When I took my carb apart the eclipse and the spacer basically became disconnected cuz when I took the main jet out the needle came out with it. Then the two above parts fell out of the diaphragm. The spring plastic keeper was about an inch of down inside of the spring. Watching your videos and looking all over the internet how can I find out exactly where that clip was supposed to go for my 2008 500 sportsman quad? Thank you

Thanks man - very helpful! I would've liked to have seen you pull that air & fuel spring/needle at the end, tho - that's the part I really need help with. Is there supposed to be an o-ring underneath the spring?

My need housing is frozen in place I wanted to replace the o ring. I belive the ethanol has corroded the housing. The needle looks good. I was getting gas in my oil the drain tube was block again the ethanol was the problem I cleaned everything out put back on and it ran with ot leaking.
What is the best way to get the frozen piston housing free with out breaking it. Many Thanks

What year polaris sportsman is this carb for? I'm working in a 99 model year and it looks quite a bit different. It starts fine. No problems. It will sit and idle perfect. But when go to give it throttle it dies.

It could be a couple things. I would start with the jetting though. Where and how did you come up with the jet sizes you need for the elevation? I'd also be curious what your compression is? Also, I'm wondering if it has anthing to do with your drivetrain. Belt, clutches, etc? Does the engine rev and its just slowing down (or just not picking up speed) or is it actually bogging down? let me know what you find. Happy to help. Check out our other Sportsman videos.

I'd imagine the correct size guitar string would clean orifices very well. Do you know what size that is? I have the same bike, similar issues...oh, yean, i got guitars, too!

I like the idea. Unfortunately, a guitar string wont always be strong enough to get through it. When that fuel builds up it turn into a very solid material. its very small port. Thanks for the idea, for watching and the comment. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help!

should the end piece on the Choke cable going INTO the carb (little but that slides onto the end of the cable) be TIGHT and HARD to push down into the carb in place? or does this make it so that it will not pull back up when the choke is engaged ?
