How to make a self-made welding table that can be fixed anywhere with 448 taps without warping

There are convenient welding surface plates such as 3D surface plates and honeycomb surface plates, but they are very expensive, so I decided to make my own. I made it with a 12mm thick 1200x2100 iron plate and fixed it with bolts so that it would not warp. A completely flat surface plate is very important in welding, so we made it possible to finely adjust the height and adjust the warp and flatness.
In addition, 448 M10 taps are placed on the iron plate so that the material can be fixed anywhere using clamp bolts. This suppresses deformation during tack welding and improves dimensional accuracy. In addition, by fixing guides and jigs, the production efficiency of the same product will increase. Since there is no need to weld guides or jigs to the surface plate, there is no deformation or damage to the surface plate due to welding.
It is very convenient to use the screw holes to fix various tools.
Although tapping was difficult, we were able to create a cheap and easy-to-use welding surface plate with only the cost of materials.

私の定盤の高さは775㎜です。
立った状態で腕を下ろし手をグーにした時に触れる高さが作業し易いそうです。

鉄板の平滑度と云うか平面の精度はどんな感じですか？
一般的な定盤並ですか？

平面の精度は調整次第ですが0.5ミリ以下って感じでしょうか。
鉄板自体に強い反りがある場合は調整が難しいと思います。
測定用の定盤とはいきませんが溶接用としては十分使いやすいです。
